Arsenal v West Ham Preview, Line-Up and Score Prediction – Our best team plays

After all the kerfuffle about Wenger announcing he is leaving Arsenal, it seems to have slipped everybody-s mind that we also have a game to play this afternoon. Either the boys will be all fired up to send Wenger out on a high or they have become too distracted by the attention and will be unprepared for what they expect to be an easy game against a lower table side.

David Moyes has settled the Hammers and they are now unbeaten in three and are six points clear of relegation at the moment and the West Ham boss is feeling good ahead of today-s game. He said: “We have good belief as a team. I think we feel as though we played well in the game against Stoke but we just didn’t score the goals. Good performances do lead to good results and I do hope we can continue. We are on a decent run at the moment.

“I’m trying to get a level of consistency to our play and to not be so up and down all the time. So really that’s the message I’m trying to get out and what we hope to do. The first part would be to try and go unbeaten for the rest of the season, which isn’t an easy task but it is a target that we have to set for ourselves.”

The Hammers managed a 0-0 draw at home against the Gunners earlier in the season, just before we narrowly beat them 1-0 in the League Cup, but Moyes side have only won 1 of their last 21 visits to Arsenal, and with the Gunners brilliant home form we are certain to be hot favourites today. Also Arsenal have scored at least 3 in each of our last 5 home games, while the Hammers have scored in all of their last 9 away games, so we should expect goals galore today we hope.

Wenger has been talking about blooding more youngsters from the Academy, but he also insisted that this game would be a preparation for the Atletico game which makes me think that Lacazette will be appearing again to keep him sharp. Wilshere and Ramsey are both coming back from injury, so I think they will both play at some point but Ramsey may be held back until later in the match so I believe Elneny will be starting again.

The defence is Wenger’s favourite line-up and they will all play and have 5 days to recover before Atletico. And I’m backing Lacazette to be centre-forward with PEA assisting him from the wing. So here is my team prediction….

Cech,
Bellerin, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal,
Xhaka, Wilshere, Elneny
Ozil, Aubameyang, Lacazette

That looks more than enough to blow West Ham away, so I am going to be bold and say 4-1 to the Gunners…

What do you think?

  1. Play the “B” side to save the
    “A” side for Thursday.
    Cech
    Niles Chambers Holding Kolasinac
    Xhaka Wilshere Elneny
    Wellbeck Lacazette Iwobi

  2. I hope we don’t have another disastrous match like last week. Please no Willock or Iwobi! ?
Come on Arsenal!! Would love a win today ?

  3. Our strongest side should not include Mustafi nor Wilshere. Give Holding and Chambers a chance together please Mr Wenger before you leave.

  4. I would rest players today, because we have a massive fixture on Thursday. Play the likes of Cech, Bellerin, Mustafi, Xhaka, Ozil, Iwobi, today, because they shouldn’t be starting Thursday, and obviously start Auba as he’s cup tied.

    4-2 to the Arsenal!

  5. No, i hope we play some of our young. Our main goal is beating atletico and we can not effort any problems before the game. So rest some key players.

I would also rest Kos and use Chambers. He might get a better game and win some confidence as i personally dont believe that Mustafi is up for the job.

  6. Wenger will be out so everybody is talking about AM match. No one is talking about losing that match so that Wenger can go.
This world. Arsene should have left a year plus now. The last year he qualifies us for CL.
