Arsenal wonderkid target reveals decision on summer move

Brazilian winger Malcolm has confirmed that he has told his current employers Bordeaux that he wants to leave at the end of the season.

The young forward has notched up eight goals and five assists in his 23 Ligue One outings this term, and has been the key attacking force for their side, contributing directly for 13 of their 29 total league goals.

The performances of the 20 year-old has brought plenty of attention, and Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal have all been linked with a move for him in recent windows. It was thought that our club were most interested in his signature last month, with a view to replacing Alexis Sanchez, but the French side were believed to have priced his suitors out of a move.

The player himself has now revealed that he has made his intentions clear, and that he will play out the rest of the season with Bordeaux before pursuing a move.

“It’s my dream to progress in my career,” he said

“I spoke to the president, he told me that he knew it was my dream, but that he needed me.

“I told him he could count on me until the end of the season, I will do everything to help Bordeaux finish in the top six in Ligue 1.”

Arsenal brought in Henrikh Mkhitaryan last month as a replacement for Alexis Sanchez, and the Armenian international has already impressed, notching up a hat-trick of assists in his full debut, and it remains to be seen whether our club will follow up their winter interest in Malcolm and make a new offer come the summer.

Can Arsenal tempt the winger to snub other offers? Would the forward be guaranteed a first-team role in our side?

  1. Spurs test came too soon..

our newly form team has yet to gel…

additionally seems like referees and linesmen are favoring Spurs….juz like the Liverfool game

    1. Liverpool almost crushed Tottenham with Salah, luckily the officials helped Tottenham with unfair penalties. Even Virgil Van Dijk, a 75 million defender, could fall into Tottenham’s trap, let alone the error-prone Koscielny, Mustafi, Monreal and Bellerin.

Arsenal are often punished by these types of cunning tactic, so they must stop Tottenham players before reaching the penalty box. This is why a good DM and two solid fullbacks are needed.

    2. Spuds have to worry about us more after all we made them look second rate at the emirates, spuds are an attacking team means they play open which suits us, its our defense from midfield to our goalkeeper which is a worry ATM, i suppose we have to think like the Brazilians don’t care how many the other team score we have to score more

  2. I feel Adama Traore is more explosive than Malcom, but their pace should be accompanied by excellent first touches and a good football brain, to make a good inverted winger. Maybe Adama Traore’s price is even cheaper than Malcom.

Nelson sucked when playing as a left inverted winger, but he has to play there again more often. Maitland-Niles was also awkward as a left wingback, but he is doing much better now.

    1. I think fikir of Lyon should be our major target. Perfect replacement for Sanchez. And he is very similar to cazorla. Been watching him for some time.

  3. What do we really know about this kid?A few games in the French League does not guarantee anything-Sanogo anyone?Sven and Raul will have options for us going forward and while we can always indulge ourselves in one for the future will he offer more than Riess Nelson and Eddie who are soon to be knocking for a more regular run out.
We have what we have to finish the season so not the time to get too carried away for any summer transfer business just yet.

  4. Why do so many always put the cart before the horse?. What ACTUALLY MATTERS in the summer is that Wenger is sacked and compared to that necessity, worrying about who may or may not come in -while he is here- is of relatively lesser importance. If he stays he is bound to misuse the new signings, as he does with so many other players , past and present. He has never yet used Maitland-Niles in a Prem game in his best position, nor Reiss Nelson. We have a wealth of talent in attack and midfield BUT need a complete new defence top to bottom. While Wenger remains he will NEVER get a proper defence with defenders who are physically powerful, tall if they are CB’s and who are committed and do not turn their backs on shots and are not afraid to take a knock. AND A PROPER DCM !!!!!!!!!!! THAT is what we need to bring in, a totally new defence, including keeper BUT WITH WENGER it ain’t gonna happen. We have many years of evidence of his gross neglect to this effect. So let us put the horse before the cart for a change, get Wenger sacked and ONLY THEN can we ever begin to do what is vitally necessary to get a great all round squad who are MOTIVATED to try their best every week, month in month out , year in year out. Younger fans have no way of remembering when that basic fight was expected from all players, CONSTANTLY, since they have only ever known(and some been brainwashed by) Wenger.

    1. Chill out old boy and stop raging, leave the young fans alone, they will be there when you and I will be long gone. Don’t tell me you weren’t happy with the game the weekend? AW will be gone soon enough. So stop being so negative.

        1. Guneal, Thanks for the support. Ironically. I know Billy is also, like me, far from being a spring chicken, as his post indicates. I mean no insult to younger fans since no one can help our age or how long / short a time they have been a fan. But it is surely a fact that increased age gives one greater experience and enables a sense of perspective and knowledge about the history of our great club. But on the flip side of that. I will not be around in future years when Wenger is ancient history but young fans will be, when our club again wins top honours, as we will. Just simple fact! So naturally I want to see us win PREM TITLES and the CL, before I pop my clogs. That seems to offend Billy. But hey, we can’t all have brains like you and me can we!

          1. “But it is surely a fact that increased age gives one greater experience and enables a sense of perspective and knowledge about the history of our great club.”

            No it isn’t.

Have a look at some of the greatest minds in history and tell me how many of them was OAPs when they got recognised for their intellect.
How old was Newton when he done his work on Gravity?
How old was Einstein when he done his work on special relativity?

To belittle a younger mind shows your biased nature, even though you said it with “I mean no insult”, you meant to demote younger people to stand below your thoughts because of your age alone and not what you have done with that extra time.

            Disgusting!
Age doesn’t give you wisdom, you have to learn and use your time to develop wisdom and if a 80 year old hasn’t spent any effort into bettering themselves then I would not call them wise, they are mature ‘newbs’.

      1. Billy, it’s called free speech and in case you haven’t noticed we live in a free country. I believe in making whatever point I wish to say in a clear and unambiguous style and unlike some on here- of all ages – I do fully explain WHY
I think as I do, which offends some people(you perhaps?) who sadly do not have my way with words. Older folk are people too and have the same rights as anyone else. What I said about ” YOUNGER FANS HAVING NO WAY TO REMEMBER WHEN BASIC FIGHT WAS EXPECTED BY ALL PLAYERS” IS CLEARLY FACT. How could it be otherwise, if they have known only Wenger? And if free speech offends your delicate ears try moving to Russia, China or North Korea where it is denied. And even though I believe Wenger will FINALLY be sacked this summer, that is NOT soon enough for many of us. I wanted him out back in 2008 and have not the years left to wait for PREM TITLES and CL success as younger fans have. Fact, not moaning!

        1. “who sadly do not have my way with words.”

          Sadly?
I think you have delusions of how well you type.

One doesn’t need to use quotation marks to show emphasis, the language does allow for it in the structure, short sentences can make that point along with an exclamation mark.

If you have such a way with words then where are your novels? Literature which has been praised for a wide range of vocabulary used correctly?

“Older folk are people too and have the same rights as anyone else.”
So allow others to exercise their rights and do not moan about them doing so when you do the same thing, hypocrite comes to mind.

“What I said about ” YOUNGER FANS HAVING NO WAY TO REMEMBER WHEN BASIC FIGHT WAS EXPECTED BY ALL PLAYERS” IS CLEARLY FACT. How could it be otherwise, if they have known only Wenger?”

I am a younger fan (when compared to you) and I know more than just Wenger as AFC manager. Not one grey hair yet either so not refined like some older gentlemen.

“And if free speech offends your delicate ears try moving to Russia, China or North Korea where it is denied.”

He made a single comment, you have made 2 in response, it appears you have been affected by the free speech more than Billy. Maybe you should be the one moving and let us supporters who wish to support the club, support the club.

    2. We do not need a complete new def.
This feels like a knee jerk reaction than a post by a mature adult.

Physically powerful, you mean like Sead?
Do not turn their backs… like Mustafi threw himself to save that shot and then celebrated the block like he scored a goal? Or how Kos has threw himself on the line to defend and taken kicks in doing so? Last game he got hurt when showing courage in defending.

You made the accusation that if Wenger stays then we will never get the def sorted but we know AFC are looking at CBs and def for the next window, if the dealings hadn’t taken so long this window then Wenger wanted that sorted too.

“Why do so many always put the cart before the horse?”
Says the person who hasn’t a clue.

      1. If Wenger knew the CB positions needed strengthening why did he leave it till the last minute to try and get Jonny Evans? Why was it not addressed last summer?
This is typical Wenger being reactive as opposed to proactive.
Jonny Evans FFS and he expects us to take him seriously?
For someone who is preaching how elequent you are with words you seriously need to know what you are talking about because you make no sense at all

  5. I don’t know much about him to be honest but I will take into account that he plays in the French league. So be careful not to get too excited about him.
After the signings of Xhaka, Chambers Im very cautious. I think Xhaka is one of our worst signings considering how much was spent on him in relation to his actual quality.
No disrespect to Xhaka personally. Eleny isn’t much better but we spent a lot less on him. Ultimately its Wenger’s fault.

  6. I think there could be room in AFC for Malcom if we sell Perez and Campbell.

I do think Malcom could allow for Nelson to go out on loan for 12 months to get experience at a high level.

  7. Can people please stop calling this guy Malcolm?! His name is MALCOM. No second “L” in there. It’s really disrespectful to the player, and it just drives me crazy.
