Arsenal won’t win title so may as well sell Sanchez and co.

Throughout the summer Arsenal fans have been told by Arsene Wenger that he will not be open to the transfer of the Chile international Alexis Sanchez, especially not to a direct Premier League rival. Despite the fact that it seemed clear that the striker would not be signing a new contract and would leave on a free transfer next summer this seemed good to us because of the bigger chance it would give Arsenal of winning the EPL title this season.

Well Gooners, are there any of you left out there who is holding on to any hope of this being the year Arsenal are crowned champions of England once again, even if Wenger and the board did hold firm and hold on to our star player? The Gunners are in an absolute mess to be honest, worse than ever, and it is hard to see us finishing in the top four never mind the top one.

In that case we may as well take the best offer we can get for the Chilean and for anyone else like Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ozil and Mustafi. Even if it strengthens the likes of Chelsea, Man City, Liverpool or Manchester United I do not think it matters because we are not direct rivals at the minute.

Arsenal may as well keep as much money as possible and hand it to the next manager because even Kroenke and the Wenger faithful board must now see they should have replaced the Frenchman at the end of last season and will surely do so before his current two year deal runs out.

I am sorry if this sounds defeatist Arsenal fans, but I think it is purely realistic and we may as well make the best of a bad situation don’t you think?

    1. Hilarious.
      Arsenal win titles?
If you took half the premiership out the equation then perhaps yes.
With the Yank and that bald headed bell end at the club Arsenal have no chance.
Wenger stayed at Arsenal for purely selfish reasons – I cannot believe that he felt he could lead this club to the league. He stayed because he could not bear the thought of not being in control – he is a control freak.
When you have an absent owner who only cares about bottom line profits and a past it manager sticking around for his own ends then it was never going to succeed.
And apparently there is no money to buy new players…

  1. Putting aside team selection and tactical setup, clearly not near enough was done during this summer. A summer with no international cups being playes and as such, more time to meet identified targets we failed. We failed in everything you can think of. Losing over 135m pounds worth of players (Ox, Ozil who has yet to sign & Sanchez who surely won’t stick around past this season) is a maddening strategy…and there is more if you had the actual deadwood.

We are 24h away from the window shutting down and all we are doing is seliing or loaning out players that the club & the board knew were never going to play a part in this new season. Except from Ox who seemingly forced his way out because (and I can’t wait to hear from him in an interview) he wants to play in the middle and nowhere else anymore.

We were promised a busy window, a window that would “be a catalyst for change” and we are effectively and I can’t believe I am saying this in a worst state than last season. We would be extremely lucky finishing top 6. Moreso for a club extremely conservative when it comes to paying fees and aligning with the market it is becoming clear that we ain’t making a big addition or 2 before the window shuts.

To make it worse all the deadwood are being sold on rebate or loaned out for next to nothing. If that is what would have happened anyway a logical and structured organization would have done that early on to free spots and wages. Matter of fact a proper club would have sold higher than what Gibbs is going for now just look at what CFC is doing.

    1. Renato Sanchez on a loan deal with an option to buy is something Arsenal could have worked with needing a midfielder who can both attack and defend. No risk for the club if he doesn’t perform he goes back at a minimal cost if he does you trigger his clause. Really young , can play both offensively and defensively. Surely he would have fancied North London over Swansea?

What about Krychowiak whose physique look taylor made for the EPL. Haven’t we been craving for a strong presence to shield that back 3 or 4 , someone with more skills than Coquelin? Another loan deal that is going to West Brom couldn’t that have been something Arsenal could have looked at…we scouted him before!!
      DISAPPOINTMENT ALL OVER…

      1. We are in need of a midfielder as you described. But not according to Wenger. His main trait he looks in a midfielder is an image of himself: gutless, spineless yes man with “superior technique” (in his own narcissistic mind).

Wenger doesn’t want men with authority in his team because he’s the top earner in the club and, calling shots. He doesn’t want anyone to question, his frail, arrogant ego won’t allow it. Hence Mustafi is shown the door.

        1. 140 million gone for what one little sh….. destroyed the Arsenal with his own little sabotage to rile the players and bring them down so that he Sanchez could get his own way . If I were ARSENAL ship him out on loan somewhere far like Moscow Csk And let him fester there in the cold winter. Seen interview with sunglasses on saying this is what They Arsenal have to do now for me I want to leave and now I’m waiting for Arsenal to transfer me to Man CIty the little sh…….. okay gunners now you heard it and this happened last march cost Arsenal dearly.

  2. Before we get rid of Wenger, we can’t compete.
Get rid of him, sell players, who don’t want to play for Arsenal & players, who aren’t good enough.
Ideally it would all happen very quickly, so we can use the season to give our young players more time and a new manager to rebuild, how he wants.
But I doubt, that will happen. We are stuck with Wenger, and there is no bottom to how deep we will fall.

  3. As a fan, I want to puke because of Arsenal’s ambition, the way the board are milking the club and the way the board do business. Let alone top players like Sanchez, I bet he has lost his spirit to get the prestigious trophies with Arsenal.

I agree that Arsenal should sell Sanchez, Ozil, etc. Most fans can wait forever for Arsenal, but the players should not waste their short career and life in a profit-oriented club like Arsenal.

Arsenal should get rid of the underperformers and fancy players that do not contribute a lot in the field. Rebuilding with more skillful and more ambitious players are required.

  4. Wenger.kroeken, gazidis and board have secret agenda to destroy Arsenal.. Im still wondering y wenger sanctioned the sale of Gabriel instead of d deadwoods like debuchy, jekinson , chambers ,coquolin and walcot. Up till now i can’t really comprehend wat d board is really thinking about the club..Arsenal have turn to a mediocre club yet notin is done about it..

  5. Why are we not targeting the board. I feel Wenger not doing what he wants and is tied up in many knots, perhaps his old habits of trusting the board has got him in a fix. He loves the club too much and can’t call it quits, but is putting up with all the pressure and nonsense from a board with wrong principles.

  6. When the window closes and we’ve shipped out a few more players and replaced none, most of us will still be Arsenal fans. And maybe, unburdened by the expectation that we will actually compete for anything, we’ll enjoy watching the Reiss-Nelsons, Reine-Adelaides, Bieleks and Willocks of the world develop.

  7. 140 million gone for what one little sh….. destroyed the Arsenal with his own little sabotage to rile the players and bring them down so that he Sanchez could get his own way . If I were ARSENAL ship him out on loan somewhere far like Moscow Csk And let him fester there in the cold winter. 8. Forget the title. Forget the top four. They are way beyond our reach – we’re simply not good enough. To be honest, I doubt we’ll even get top six. I think Everton are ahead of us now and WBA and Leicester and, possibly Stoke are on parr with us. Jesus, how we have fallen in the last couple of years. On another note I see Spurs have managed to keep a hold of Kane, Ali, Erickson and the like. They’ve added to their squad as well. Who’s the mugs in north London then? Oh, what a wicked webb he weaved when Wenger first practiced to deceive.

    1. I think this is the best we can hope for (below). This, I’m aware, would be a bloody miracle but you never know (I can’t help but pray for something along these lines). If we could keep sanchez, bring in marhez and for the cherry on top a beast in CM we might just win one or two games this season.

Wenger should go the day the season finishes with a replacement lined up well in advance.

      ………………………Czech………………

      Bell…………must……..kos……..beast…

      ………………..xhak……coq……………..

      Marhez……………ozil……………..sanchez

      ……………………….lac……………………….

      1. Ah yeh, both ozil and mahrez walking around doing absolutely nothing together when the opposition have the ball! That will work.

  9. Arsene best selling manager of key layers . how i wish their is a way of selling or loaning manager..

Wenger should go for a 2yrs loan deal at chalton or portsmoth.

    1. Charlton or Portsmouth wouldn’t take Wenger lol football clubs require a manager something Wenger quite clearly isn’t ?

  10. I see why everyone wants to leave who would play for a senile dictator that’s lost it

Him and the board talk out of their asses nothing is gonna change wenger is never gonna get sacked cos he’s doing what the board want…. make money.

For over a decade fans journalists and ex players can see our weaknesses, that we need a defensive midfielder and better centre halfs what does wenger do play left backs as centre backs and keep signing attacking midfielders the man has lost it

  11. Can we just stop all these analysis, complaints etc.
Arsenal Fans have done that over the last 10 years…
Only one thing can send a message to the board…
    Quit showing up for games….
    Period!

Bloggers need to start writing such stories…..

  12. Sanchez to city s…..ozil to fenerbache…ox to Liverpool …..Wenger to Norwich and arsenal will rejuvenate

  13. I have consistently said we should sell ox, sanchez and ozil this summer if they will not sign new contracts. We should now definately sell because, as the article says they will definately leave next summer for free and we are not going to win anything. Better to sell, bank the money and let the new manager spend it on the players he wants. Also I think that wantaway players can be a disruptive influence to the team.
