Arsenal’s Alexis confirmed as Bayern Munich signing?

Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez has been the subject of continued speculation throughout the season, and has now been named as a Bayern Munich player.

The announcement has not come from the English or German club’s official channels however, and should a deal be in place, it would likely be kept private until after the FA Cup final on Saturday.

Chile confirmed their squad for their upcoming Confederations Cup competition, where they are set to take on Australia, Germany and Cameroon, and on that list, Bayern Munich were named as the Arsenal star’s club.

The confederation have since removed the tweet, and corrected his team as Arsenal FC, but the removal was not fast enough to stop the alarm bells going off.

Bayern Munich have been amongst those strongest linked with Sanchez’s signature, and it was only reported a matter of days ago that the player’s agent had flown into Germany for talks over a possible move to the Allianz Arena.

International team-mate Arturo Vidal has also been in the press urging Alexis to come to the club, and this could well have come due to an understanding that he is making the switch to the Bundesliga champions.

There have been reports that Bayern have even agreed a whopping £50 Million deal with Arsenal ahead of the summer transfer window, and this weekend’s cup final may well be the final time we see Alexis in an Arsenal shirt.

We may well see the forward waving goodbye at the end of the Wembley fixture this weekend, and there also remains the question mark on Mesut Ozil and Arsene Wenger’s heads at present.

Would we have allowed Alexis to discuss a move away from the club before our campaign was over? Is £50 Million too much to turn down with only one year left on hsi contract?

  1. What a balls up by The Chilean FA. They are as incompetent as ours it’s good to know.

I never saw this coming !!!!??????

  2. He won’t last a season down there if he goes. Bayern won’t give him any chance to regain his form in case he should have had a dip in the middle of the season like he did with us. Bayern already have 3 or 4 wingers in Roben, Ribery, Costa and Koeman who is ready and good enough to replace him. That was not the case at Arsenal and we already know how he is whenever he’s not playing.

Wish him well if he goes though.

    1. Thank you, is precisely what i said earlier. He’s not going to unseat RIbery or Robben – though injuries do usually sideline one if not both of them – and then you have Doulas Costa and Kingley Coman.
He’s also not going to start ahead of Lewangoalski. So at this point his best bet is to play in the Mueller role as the 10 underneath the 9, and have Thiago play next to Arturo vidal.

Lots of ifs and buts. I can see the ambition of Bayern matching that of Alexis, and that in and of itself being enought to convince him to make the move.

      I guess we’ll see.

      1. Ribery and Robben are reaching the tail end of their careers. This is almost a prime time for Alexis to move to Bayern. He’s gonna ease in while they ease out.

    2. Yea right…cos those players you mentioned are always consistent the whole season…There shouldn’t be any atom of jealousy cos an ambitious player who is looking to win countless silverware with like minds is leaving a club known solely for mediocrity. Ribery is getting old and won’t be fielded for most part of the season (we can’t write off injuries), we’ve all heard about the rumours surrounding Douglas Costa’s future….so why won’t Sanchez play a key role at the Allianz Arena if he officially joins them..Rvp, fabregas, nasri, cole, Sagna, clichy et al…I know Arsenal as a club is bigger than any player buh then again the management and all those at the helm of affairs should put things right else we’ll just be going around the same circle season after season

      1. Im pretty sure you misread what I wrote. If you see above I said, “I CAN see the ambition of Bayern matching that of Alexis, and that in and of itself being enough to convince him to make the move.”

So actually, I agree with you. The prospect of beating out those guys and playing along some of the best in the world that want to win trophies is definitely reason enough to move.

        Sooooo

        1. Sorry mate I was referring to Jerick who put up a list of players that will bench Sanchez and also a dip in form for the Chilean…..like he’s the only person who will drop form

      1. No big deal winning Bundesliga anymore unless you win it with a club that is not Bayern which is almost impossible these days. It’s won at the beginning of the season by Bayern. What’s the fun playing there?

  3. This will never happen it would mean wenger has lied to us, that never happens lmfao

  4. Incompetent? or just a bit premature ? The whole world knows that Sanchez will not be an Arsenal player next season. Why wouldn’t he want to play for Bayern? The world also knows that Arsenal under Wenger are a selling club- unwilling to ever pay really top level players enough to keep them at the club.

  5. oh well a lot of talks around one player… I don’t know why Arsenal keep this… same sceen with Nasri Fabregas Van Persie and others… well it is time to sell that player to manchester city or chelsea… I don’t see the point why Wenger wants him out of premier league… I say that Arsenal didn’t win premier league and now has that shy level… I think the problem is wenger… he just made excuses… sell and buy this is football… next season goal is to come back to CL… Just few signings and done…

  6. I like everything about Sanchez. But he has to know that only Arsenal accept him not passing the ball quick enough, and accept him giving the ball away to easily and always cutting in in which time half the opposition is back in defensive mode. Bayern Munich and other top teams wont tolerate that.

If he goes to them he wont be seen as a main player like he is at Arsenal. But good luck to him if he goes.

    1. I’d rather make a contribution of 20 goals and 18 assists in all competitions to be crowned Bundesliga champion, DFB Pokal champions as well as be a strong contender in the UCL than score 24 EPL goals and 10 assists or more and still not make top four at the end of the season…ask Henry who left the club to win the UCL with a Barca…please can u give me ten examples of “other top teams”…

  7. Would’ve liked to seen Lyon in the final and no Ajax. They are so weak physically and mentally. Theyll get a second bite at teh cherry for UCL qualifying becuase they came 2nd in the league.

  8. Top player top club good luck to him.
But he’s no longer the main man, diva award goes to Robben.

  9. I am expecting Wenger to come out and say something like: I visited Sanchez house and ate some delicous boritus there with him like amigos, and while doing it i almost pursued him to stay

jjajajajaj porfavore le frog just go already

    1. Little did Wenger know ?? He was munching on spicy dog ???

  10. ??Let me guess, we are supposed to be acting shocked, right??
Come on man, it was reported even on here,(months ago) that a staff member told fans during a tour guide at the Emirates that Sanchez was off at the end of the season. Anyways,£50 million is good business considering he only has 1 year left on his contract & we only paid £35 mil for him. The real question is, who’s going to replace him? ?? don’t you dare say Iwobi .. ffs ?

    1. He is better than Baleeee Aaroon potatohead he better than Baleeee

sing it with me fat boy

Jk aside, with that money we should try to get Bale back to the epl, that or like i said Ramsey will play a bigger part next season for sure as we want do nothing with the money as good players wont move that easy

Lucas Moura is an another option but who are we kidding, from now one something like Arsenal and option is a sonogo

  11. I’d rather run down his contract. We won’t invest the money into player purchases, just into the pockets of Wenger and the board, as always. I’d gladly forfeit 50 million to watch Alexis play another season. We always complain about hoarding our gold, so what’s the point in adding more to hoard? From a business perspective, yes. From a fan perspective, hell no. Keep him for another year. He loves football too much not to play, and who knows, if we are successful next season, maybe he’ll re-sign.

    1. he would stay in EPL then, and would tear us apart the following seasons. And then we would have fans calling him a judas and what not, even though we had a clear opportunity to ship him off and get 50mill. And you’re exaggerating saying it will just go to Wenger and the board. Lets face it, getting rid of Sanchez is the best option at this point.

      1. Those are a lot of assumptions you’re making. If we sell him, we can say goodbye yet again to ambition, as we have had to do for years now under Wenger. You don’t become a champion by playing it safe. You must take risks. Selling Sanchez would be a mistake, being yet another signal to the fans, possible purchases, and to our rivals that we are not to be feared and are not serious about contending. We’ve been crying out for a 20+ goal player (in the EPL) for years since RVP, and as soon as we get one, you want to sell him? Absolute madness.

  12. Acc to Bild Arsenal have offered Alexis Sanchez 330k pw and Bayen can pay only 220k so, they won’t sign him.

  13. If this is true and Sanchez is sold before the season even ended it’s just another example of how bad the club is run.

  14. And in other news, it was reported today that we’ve offered him 20mil /year contract, which Bayern can’t match. They have a wage structure in place, and Lewa, who’s one of their top earners, makes 16mil per year. If there’s any truth to that, Sanchez to Bayern is a NO GO.

  15. Let him go if he is happy to leave. You can’t make him stay and be happy when his dream Is elsewhere. Mind you Arsenal is Arsenal and it’s not here just two decades or even belt up on one player, best players were here and gone, likewise best players will still come and go.
Those who are supporting Arsenal in late days are too confused and I pity they might hang themselves to death; club like Arsenal can not end just because we lost one a or 3 players. To me, I see all these fracases as the beginning of new things to come; it brings about fresh mindset and change of things. Don’t suffocate be carm.

    1. fresh mindset with an old man whose ego and unnecessary arrogance has left the club as a laughing stock?…mate please tell me that after the summer transfer window has closed and the new season has kicked off

  16. I just hope that we don’t overpay this little pest if he joins our Bayern. And his wage should be reasonable and not higher then anyone else’s in Bayern. Sanchez, if you join you will become a nice schoolboy, because here, not everything will evolve around you like in Arsenal. If you fail to perform or try be cocky, you will be benched, and you will have to work hard for any spot in the starting 11. Of course, if we buy him we expect that he will contribute the club, but there are a lot of players that can do the job if you can’t or start acting like Madonna here.

  17. I don’t think Sanchez is going to be sold……and I don’t believe he is going to leave……neither is Ozil………from a business point……..I think it makes more sense for Arsenal to keep both players…….and find adequate support to win the league and the european titles within three years………cos the team has depreciated slightly……..I feel in the fourth year, they will sell some players……then remain average…..with that goodwill for a few years………that’s how I feel American sport owners do tend to run their business…….

  18. What would we rather have him go too.?

    Bayern for 50m
    Chelsea for 60m
    PSG for 50m
    Man city for 60m
