Arsenal’s ‘Golden’ EPL chance to be tarnished by injury?

On the one hand, Arsenal have finally started to convince the many doubters in the football world that we are now a squad that has the balance of talent, steel and all the other things it takes to win the marathon that is the Premier League title race.

On the other hand Arsene Wenger has admitted that the ever growing injury list, which only needs one more Arsenal player adding to it to have a complete starting XI in the treatment room, is a big worry for him and he knows that it could be the thing that once again scuppers his quest to add another EPL trophy to the one Arsenal last lifted in 2004 after going a whole season unbeaten.

The Frenchman´s concerns, reported by The Guardian, are growing along with the number of crocked players and it is the fact that we have not even reached the halfway point of the campaign yet that is bothering the boss. He is clearly worried about the busy festive period which could prove crucial to our success.

Wenger said, “I am very concerned, honestly, because we are only in November and to have so many players out, knowing we go into the Christmas period soon, I am concerned. At the moment, we have too many players out.”

So it seems a bit strange that Jamie Carragher has now chosen to write in the Daily Mail that Arsenal are faced with a golden opportunity to win the league this season and if we blow it we might not get another. He talks about all of our big rivals having problems to overcome, but does he not think that having 10 first team players out of action is a problem?

I think I prefer it when he is criticising us rather than ramping up the pressure. How about you?

  1. No. If it comes to it, by arrogance. Bec injuries are no news to us, and so is not Wengers stubborn attitude towards investing money in the team.

  2. Its funny how people on this site said that ozil giroud monreal walcott and coquelin werent good enough for arsenal now they are on
    debuchy welbeck chambers gibbs mertz.
they will also prove them wrong then they will go for other players.

  3. on the topic of injuries. people say jackie wilshire gets injuries because of his physical stature. has anyone noticed his physical double in stature as stokes Shaqiri? both have the same physical stature and movement over the ground. So how come they say Jacks Physique is his problem and the constant leg injuries, but Shaqiri seems to perform year in year out? im not trying to compare the 2 in class, as Jack is a far better player. Im just concerned as to why he can only play 1/3 of a season. surely this be a medical team problem.

  4. Yea, keep letting them sell you a delusional dream. We are winning and league title as long and the fraud of a manager continues to be manager. Injuries are an irrelevance. Its that simple

    Wenger out!
