Arsenal’s new signings join squad on way to Australia – Who got left behind?

Happy Days! Arsenal’s first pre-season game is just three days away as the 25 man squad is now en-route to Sydney to play two top Aussie sides. The good news is that Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac are on the plane, and other players that we thought could be leaving like; Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Theo Walcott, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud are also flying.

The only ones left behind are our players that are late back due to international tournaments like Sanchez, Bellerin, Chambers, Holding and Mustafi, and Cazorla, Wilshere and Gabriel are on the injury list so will resume treatment in London.

The ommisions that are likely to be in transfer negotiations are; Jenkinson, Apkom, Debuchy, Perez, Gibbs, Campbell and Szczesny. We can expect all of these to be playing for new clubs next season…

Wenger has also brought some youngsters into the fold. Le Prof had already said that Maitland-Niles would be promoted to the first team, and others from the academy on the plane are Donyell Malen, Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock, Krystian Bielik and Cohen Bramall.

Here is the full travelling party:

Petr Cech (GK)
Emi Martinez (GK)
David Ospina (GK)
Krystian Bielik
Cohen Bramall
Francis Coquelin
Mohamed Elneny
Olivier Giroud
Alex Iwobi
Sead Kolasinac
Laurent Koscielny
Alexandre Lacazette
Ainsley Maitland-Niles
Donyell Malen
Per Mertesacker
Nacho Monreal
Reiss Nelson
Eddie Nketiah
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
Mesut Ozil
Aaron Ramsey
Theo Walcott
Danny Welbeck
Joe Willock
Granit Xhaka

So it looks like Wenger is keeping to his word of keeping most of last season’s squad together, and the only contract rebel not on the plane is of course Alexis Sanchez, so let the speculation continue…..

I am sooooo looking forward to getting back to watching the Arsenal in action!

  1. There’s already an article listing those going to austalia.. Can we have other new topics please

  2. Interesting that Ospina is part of the tour. Hope that means he’s staying. With Szczesny leaving for Juventus, we can’t to lose Ospina too.

    1. actually i dont think Ospina and Cech shating worked last year as either one knew they would play in their specific competition so no challenge for place.. i would prefer a young goalkepper is groomed by Cech to take over and play in the cups etc… Why noy give Martinez a go ?

  3. I’m looking forward to seeing the academy guys in action.I wish them well and hope they can impress the manager.I also hope that teams come in a with good offers for some of our players especially the average one’s.We have to let the good business continue in selling too and I hope we don’t sell for small amounts. It’s a shame some players who are average will always be given chance upon chance while the good one’s wait their turn.Good luck to them all.

    1. we have to start getting our target players no mater what to send a massage out there, when was the last time we pinched a player from other clubs target players like what Man-U did to Chelsea with Lukaku last time it was OX and Walcott i suppose

    Sczeney
    Joel Campbell

  5. We must go all out to qualify for the European champions cup this season. The league and europa cup must be a priority. Keep Alexis no matter what. Buy another experience mid field player . Keep all our attackers – we will have injuries throughput the the season. Let Gibbs go and players that didn’t figure during last season. Play the youngers in the two domestic cups.

  6. Time to test our new signings and see how they gel in. Bramall, Saed, laca teaming up with ox and iwobi with ozil in the mix. Sounds mouthwatering

  7. Wenger should have taken Nwakali…….I believe this youngster can contribute to the team this coming season……..he is our future central or defensive midfielder……

  8. Its unfortunate, but some of the talents have to be left behind, all can not hold on the plane. Looking forward to see the team in action, should be decent preparation for the season ahead

  9. Where is zelalem and Crowley? Has AW given up on them or something?
    Is Mavididi still injured?
And why is Nwakali not with the squad?
