Mesut Ozil to Chelsea? Pull the other one!

I am not surprised to hear that Jose Mourinho has his beady eyes on another one of the Arsenal players. He has done well enough with Ashley Cole in his first spell at Chelsea and now our former captain Cesc Fabregas looks like inspiring them to another Premier League trophy.

And Mourinho knows all about our club record signing Mesut Ozil from being in charge of the German at Real Madrid, so the report by the Daily Star claiming that the Chelsea boss wants to sign Ozil this summer should come as no surprise.

To give Mourinho his due, his key signings of last summer have made the difference this season, but they are still a pretty turgid team to watch most of the time. In my opinion Ozil would give them that extra flair, fluency and attacking talent and his transfer would make them big favourites for next season.

That is one big reason for Arsene Wenger to put his foot down and refuse to sell but there are many more things stopping Mourinho getting his man. Wenger would not sell his nemesis one of our players if he could possibly avoid it and he can with Ozil.

Not only is the German on a long term contract with Arsenal, he is now playing his best football since joining us and is clearly enjoying life. We are the perfect team for him and we are building a team capable of great glory. So good luck Jose, but you will be wasting your time chasing this particular transfer.

    1. Thus confirming Hafiz is barking mad, and the Daily Star is simply bog roll with words on it.

    2. @ Hafiz and all fabregas fans

Why do we need fabregas now, when we really needed him he left us , also he went to play for Barca for a pay cut. Why didn’t he come to arsenal for a pay cut. He is same as all the traitors who left us for money. He would’nt play for us the way he is playing for chelshit, that’s for sure
This is why Wenger didn’t buy him

  1. So why does Mourinho think Ozil and Fabregas can play in the same squad but Wenger can’t?

If you get Fabregas offered to you, you TAKE him no matter what. That was a huge blunder from Le Prof whichever way you look at it.

    1. When you look at it we may have gifted Man Utd the league with RVP and it might of happened again with Fabregas.

        1. What about the 17 assists Cesc provided?? The whole Chelski team has been poor for the second period apart from Hazard.

          1. Unbelievable what some fans are saying, if you knew anything about football and looked past the stats you would notice Ozil has been the best midfielder in England since his return.

    2. Surely any two players “can play in the same squad(?!)”. Any way Mou is a bit short in the creative/flair department so easy to see how he may want a few more options. Personally, I think the net beneficial effect of buying Alexis far exceeds what we could have expected with Cesc. Chelski were desperate for creativity, we needed striker/scoring options. I can see you are suggesting we should have just taken Cesc for the hell of it in addition to the £80M we spent. But that is not how it works is it? Do you think Mourinho blundered by not buying Alexis and ending up having to slum it with a poor man’s Alexis in Cuadrado??

    1. “Portuguese man at war”
Also name of jellyfish who can sting to die a man in 30 minutes.

  2. if we buy another holding midfielder to partner le coq then our forwards could just run wild and score loads of goals

    1. Not just a holding midfielder. We need another Santi DNA to sail seasons. So, it’ll be two pair of them. Two brain master and two dirty man. I think it’s not a coincident that Arsene eyeing Ilkay Gundogan. He is Dortmund’s Cazorla (check on youtube). Pair with Bender or Kramer, he’s the one Arsenal should buy (beside a CDM) to preserve our current attacking style. For CDM, I’m not interesting on specific name at EPL anymore since le Coq turn to best CDM in England. Maybe we should look abroad. Kondogbia maybe?

      1. How is that going to work dragunov – bed in a completely new midfield in one transfer window? Bring in Gundogan/Bender/Kondogbia and bench Cazorla/Coq/Ramsey? You are not going to keep 6 midfielders of that calibre happy as peripherals in the squad for very long. I think Wenger will buy a big-potential relative unknown that surprises us to replace Flamini, continue the fast-tracking of Bielik, work a bit more on Wilshere’s redemption/rehabilitation, complete his 4 year Lazarus project on Diaby and keep old-pro Arteta interested in the background. Not saying that is what I would do, or that I like the idea, but think it fits better with what we know about Wenger.

  3. I would be happy with Higuain and Schneiderlin to start with followed by a natural left winger and a fast CB.

    1. totally agree…but fans will not be happy as we did not sign Dybala or Lacacetta…

we definitely need another CB so that we can bench BFG as 4th choice and Paulister can be the 3rd choice

For starters we need to release our deadwoods….

Poldi, Sanago, Diaby, Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky, Walcott, Wilshere, Campbell, Wellington, Gnabry, Zalelem which have no contribution to us this season…..make no diff next season if they stay….

      1. Paulister will be first or second choice next season and it will be BFG and Kos last season with us.

Please Arsenal can we have a testimonial for them.

        1. 30yo BFG and 29yo Kos last season with us…

totally agree we need fresh faces every 3 to 4 seasons….

Kos and BFG have been playing far too long for Arsenal and need to go..

anyone 29yo and above should be released…..

          1. You can’t be sentimental running a great football club. Wenger please take note you can’t keep everyone happy all the time.

            1. PS where would we be this season if our defence had been better. May be on top of the league.

            2. It is still a team sport and you need people to feel appreciated and wanted and loyal. Whole sale changes do not work. We a buy maximum of 3-4 players this transfer window.

Plus we have the homegrown proposed rules that can put a massive spanner in the works.

If we need to buy Homegrown. Stones as CB, Mings as LB, McCarthy as defensive midfielder.

  4. To everyone going to the game on Sunday can we get our own back on Chelsea.

    BORING BORING CHELSEA

    1. it will be extremely boring…

Mourinho will park 11 players….he rather have a point than to lose

    2. We seem to find it near impossible playing and winning games against Mourinho Chelski.

But they have been playing poor for the second period of the season and I think we can beat them if we don’t got into our soft overwhelmed bottle state.

  5. Who cares what Jose wants. Eventhough he won against his teacher this weekend whole world saw LVG schooled him. This week Wenger should do the same and more importantly get one over his close rival and shut jose up

        1. LOL. You can imagine 5 minutes in to his job interview with Dein that Jose would be on the phone to his chauffeur to get the engine started.

Dein: Look Jose, this is our strategic plan, we want to build a new stadium and need to continue with our global brand of attractive football. I should mention, you will have a net £5M a year for 8 years to buy whoever you want. Oh, we also need UCL qualification to keep up the income flow (looking up from his desk)………Jose? Jose?

  6. Mou is just out on a mission to annoy Arsenal and Arsene. I guess it is one of those psychological warfare of his. He is mad and disillusioned even to dream that Arsene of all people can sell to him. I have this feeling that next year we are champions. Our season has come, we cannot afford to make those costly mistakes of the past where we could strengthen our direct rivals by selling to them.

    1. No! Keep Ozil & sign Reus. Hazard is a mercenary & will F’ off to PSG for s huge payday.

Chelsea are after Varane & Pogba this summer. The Ozil talk is mind games.

  7. If Wenger sold Ozil to Chelsea, I would like to think Arsenal fans would storm the Emirates like the Peasantsstormed FrFrankenstein’s castle.

It can’t happen and it won’t happen.

We must increase are quality, not decrease or keep the same.

I don’t mind buying from Chelsea but not selling to them.
Okay they can have Flamini if they want
