There has always been a lot of focus at Arsenal Football Club on the youth system. It is part of the football philosophy of Arsene Wenger to try to build from solid foundations and while we sometimes get a little bit frustrated with the boss not seeming to focus enough on short term success it is hard to argue that having a good academy is not important.
We have heard quite a lot about it recently as well, especially one particular player Reiss Nelson after the 17-year old really caught the eye when on the pre-season tours of Australia and China. The young Gunner carried on this impressive form this season with the under 23 team and also came on for an impressive cameo off the bench against FC Cologne on Thursday.
Nelson is not the only academy player looking good though, because our under 23s are going along very nicely in the Premier League 2 campaign, which has got to be a good thing for the future of Arsenal. Last night they took another with a 1-0 win over Leicester City and that makes it four wins out of five and sees Arsenal joint top of the U23 table with Liverpool.
Along with the impressive Reiss Nelson Arsenal have some real up and coming talent in the shape of players like Chuba Akpom, Gedion Zelalem, Joe Willock, Eddie Nketiah, Cohen Bramall, Kelechi Nwakali, Krystian Bielik and more along with recent graduates like Iwobi and Naitlan-Miles already featuring for the first team.
Recent years have not seen too many players progress through the Arsenal ranks but could we now be set for a glut of young Gunners coming through?

The price of the young talents like Mbappe, Lemar, Asensio and Ousmane Dembele are unbelievable these days. The clubs would be forced to grow their own talents and this would be good for football.
Too bad Arsenal did not manage to catch Jadon Sancho. His close control is great and he has other nice skills.
Luckily Arsenal have Nelson and Iwobi. But Arsenal have to give them more chances to play in Premier League, otherwise their skills could languish before they are ripe.
The present is what matters most. Would any of these guys go to become
big/wc stars?

We need to build a winning team instead of relying too much on youngsters
We were very lucky we had Bellerin after Debuchy injuries and Coquelin as Wenger never replaced Viera and Kept too much faith in Diaby. We should have got a defensive midfielder like Kante, Matic, Wanyama, Gueye etc. So getting quality youngsters is good but rarely get world class talent
Top players will mostly always come from signing ready made talent
Iwobi needs to step it up already, Nelson is breeding down his neck. I’m not sure if I see both of them getting many first team opportunities, I’d say one will be more prominent over the next season or two. Iwobi has a few years on him, but that means nothing if you aren’t giving it your all. Iwobi should play angrier, get pissed when the ball doesn’t go where it’s supposed to go, back of the net. A little like with Alexis, take it personally, because up til now it seems like he hasn’t been pushing himself enough.
Sorry but I’m not convinced by Akpom or Iwobi. Really like Nelson though
Nelson looks the business i agree. He looks hungrier than Iwobi and definitely more than Walcott. Hard to believe Nelsons technical ability puts walcott to shame. 11 years and theo can’t go past defenders WITH the ball.
OT. Wow Man City is cruising. They do what they want when they want; playing out of their minds.
Lastly, rather see Nelson given more chances and drop Theo. Walcott is an empty shell that offers up little but takes handfuls in wages. Nelson could become something while walcotts sun is setting

How on earth can Arsenals future be bright when the club is owned by a scum parasite who cares only about his personal wealth, is run by a manager 20 years out of date and completely out of touch with all football reality and when we have a board full of amateurs, who lie, don’t have a clue about football and are rudderless and diretionless. I do NOT call THAT BRIGHTER, merely because we have a few prospects who may one day become first team players only to be ruined by Wenger., Nelson in goal? Don’t rule it out if Wenger remains!
Yes…….the future is bright with these youngsters coming up…………unfortunately we have also started to lose some of them……time to play some of them in some games and competitions………..

Theo was our 2nd top scorer last season,dude has over 100 goals for arsenal,dude might not be a very skillful player buh he has his unique strength,dude can run behind d defenders,how many English wingers has scored over 100 goals for their clubs,the way we hate on our own players is terrible,theo might be out of form now buh in d course of d season we night need him,be a fan and support ur team
