Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a sly dig at Arsenal following their League Cup final win over Southampton on Sunday.
Manchester United raced into a 2-0 lead in the first-half at Wembley yesterday, thanks to the officials unfairly denying Manolo Gabbiadini, but the Saints refused to roll over.
The Italian striker managed to bring his side back into the game by scoring before the half-time whistle, and his side continued to outplay United, and managed to equalise through that main man once again, who should now have his hat-trick.
The Red Devils managed to ride out the onslaught by the south-coast club, before Zlatan Ibrahimovic managed to grab his second goal of the game with a header from close-range, and that was enough to earn his side the win.
Despite all the joy surround his heroics, earning his side their second trophy of the campaign (including the Community Shield), he couldn’t help but take a pot-shot at our club.
“We are winning. After seven months I have two trophies with this club,’ said Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
“There are other clubs that didn’t win for 10 years. I’ve won what they won in 10 years, so I’m happy with that.
“This is what I predicted. I came here to show people what I would do and I’m doing it.
“I came to win and I want to keep going. The more I win the more satisfied I get.”
The Swedish international has bagged himself a large amount of goals this season, despite being 35 years-of-age, but if you are to delve into his record, he has more misses than any other top striker in the Premier League.
Maybe if Zlatan was as deadly in front of goal, he would have fired his side to challenge Chelsea at the top of the table, and not simply be hoping he can help his side to win the mickey mouse cup and finish fourth.
With over £200 Million working hard in behind feeding him the ball, you’d think such a top striker would be putting them away, and at least have them challenging for first place wouldn’t you…
Should Zlatan be doing better with all that creativity in behind him?
