Celtic star Wanyama could be Arsenal transfer target

Victor Wanyama is an international midfielder for Kenya who signed for the Scottish champions, Celtic, from the Belgian club Beerschot AC last summer. His performances have drawn the attention of some big clubs, including Arsenal, and Celtic have prepared a new and improved contract to keep him in Glasgow but the player has not signed it.

Neil Lennon is desperate to keep the powerful and combative midfielder but may find it difficult. He was Man of the Match in Celtic’s heroic Champions League game against Barcelona this week and that will increase his value and the likelihood of a move to a bigger club and a better league.

Manchester United are thought to be very keen on Wanyama, and they could be the main rivals to the Gunners in the hunt for his signature. Arsene Wenger may be concerned that the big Kenyan is too quick to dive in to challenges and get himself booked, but he is only 21-years old and still learning his trade.

Wanyama was strong and tireless against Barcelona, and nearly drove Celtic to a famous result until Jordi Alba scored a winner in the 94th minute. He achieved this without resorting to strongarm tactics and showed that he could turn out to be a world class holding midfielder. At 6ft 2in, he could add serious presence and steel to the Arsenal team and could be the subject of a bid in January.

We don’t need him, we have Coquelin, Diaby, Wilshere, Arteta. Plus hes just had a £25m price tag slapped on him.

Had a great game against Barca, he just looked like a more discplined version of Song, which is what we need, a bit of meat in the midfield. He wouldn’t cost £25 mil, the owners of a Scottish club would snap at £12 mil and take the money.

We fans at times think one specific player is a messiah we need, the player must also fit our play. Many good/quality players failed at teams. Sahin/madrid, Torres/chelsea, in his prime hleb/barca. Saying only two strikers shows ambition is limited thinking. Cavani is around the same fee as those two isn’t that ambitious? D.Villa, Chicorito is great and the little dynamic kind of striker who could bang in 25 or so goals he is already used to the English game. Huntelaar, Soldado has been consistent. In terms of a midfielder the option is that if the gunners buy one most likely Coquelin will leave. He is complaining about a lack of game time and fans think its important to bring in a man his age(21). Best the boy gets a run he is a good footballer who can stabilise the team. What Arsenal need is Filipe(athletico madrid) or Baines(Everton) a left-back who defends and has one hell of a cross plus a little dynamic striker that’s lethat and can orchestrate the game too like Giovinco.

Wenger will never buy another midfielder any time soon as we are well represented in terms of numbers.A decent striker(llorente or Adrian Lopez) and one winger(Jesus Navas or Isco)are that we need.

  14. **** Set Gunner ****

NO NEED FOR HIM. WE NEED TO GET SOMEONE WITH PL EXPERIENCE IF WE WANT TO THINK OF A MIDFIELDER, POSSIBLY FELLAINI. BUT AT THE MOMENT OUR NECESSITY IS A STRIKER. AW SHOULD GO FOR STEVAN JOVETIC!!! HE WOULD BE A CLASS SIGNING FOR US. OUR SECOND PREFERENCE SHOULD BE A LB TO REPLACE SANTOS, MAYBE LEIGHTON BAINES.

We need a strong defensibly and i wanna see the mixture of youth and mature in the field, the best team will be after January window closes:

    4-3-3-0
    Mannone
    Sagna-Martesakar-Varmalean-Gibbs
    Wanyama-Arteta-Diaby
    Wallcot-Wilshire-Cazorla

There is more urgency covering the LB and striker departments. Our midfield is so clotted we need to make room. Wilshere is back, with Diaby and Rosicky not too far off. Coquelin is available too. If we get Wanyama to sit Ramsey on the bench, I’m 110% all for it, but that won’t happen! Santos and Ramsey are the biggest liabilities in the squad!

Hey,excuse me,did I read 21years?All the rules and principles of logic can never allow Mugubi to be 21..He’s the second born after Mariga the inter millan brother and there is a brother & a sister playing football in senior posts..Thats fake and Arsenal is far from such characters..
