Come on Arsenal – put us out of our misery

Arsenal’s first few signings this summer were announced very quickly after the rumours emerged, but this deal with Lucas Torreira seems to be taking for ever. We have had the player’s father speak out about it and the Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero has made it official yesterday by revealing that The Uruguayan midfielder has been taken off Sampdoria’s squad list and told reporters: “It will be very complicated to replace him”, Ferrero said.

“We are looking at four different players: a Spaniard, a Belgian, a Croatian and one Italian.

“We need a strong player who can help us to make a step forward.”

Even David Ornstein announced yesterday that Torreira was having his medical…..

So when are the Arsenal going to do the official bit?

Get on with it Gunners!

  1. I really, really hope we will sign an attacking player as well.

So far we have signed a RB, CB, GK and now 2 DM’s. So we are really sorting out the defence.

I would like us to have a young winger also brought in. PEA is 29, Özil and Mkhitaryan turns 30. And none of them are wingers. In fact, Iwobi is our only winger ffs.

    Martial? Lozano? Pavon? Bailey? Promes?

    1. Alex Iwobi has stated he is most definitely NOT a winger. He is a No10.A midfield creative genius.Sell Mesut Ozil NOW.Play Iwobi As our playmaker
The fact the useless twat is unable to make a 5 yard pass without the ball ending up in Row Z might make people believe he should not be considered for this role. They are wrong. You only have to look how he dominated the World Cup (before being humiliatingly hauled off in the very first game) to see how he is such s World Class talent.
The player MUST have his own song. When he FLAPS those arms of his the whole ground should break into a rendition of THE BIRDIE SONG.
      Alex Iwobi-Midfield Genius
      World Class Playmaker
      The Birdie Song
Can’t wait for the season to start
da da da da da da da da da da da da
      Flap those arms
da da da da etc etc etc

      1. @Phil
Just wait and see. You will eat your words when Iwobi EXCELS under Emery because you kept talking shit about him.

        1. Iwobi is not a football Iwobi is jonk if anyone thinks emry will play him regular or even consider him a huge future plan is just dreaming you need to wakeup

      2. Hey Phi.. ….. First of all am a Nigerian, please u need to let this matter rest. Every one of us has a natural bias for our countries, having said that, it does not blind me to his failings(Iwobi) as a PLAYER ,but i still believe coaching play a good role in that. As bad as he is,he has something none of our present midlefielders has, his close Control n ball carrying dribbling runs.it is final ball decisions that fail him most times.
In d final analysis, it is d hope that kills u.Emery may be d best thing to happen to him, he could still turn out to be a great player for this great Club of ours.Peace my follow gunners

        1. Yeah-I’ve probably taken this as far as I need to.To me Iwobi is a player I do not RATE.But I would stress I do not HATE him. There is a big difference.Thank You for your polite words.

  2. today afternoon just guys be patient its already a done deal nothing to worry about, next season our midfield will be on fire Torreira,Xhaka&Ramsey the master mind

      1. ??me too mate ,not sure how anyone can say Ramsey and xhaka are any good ,haven’t they been here long enough for fans to know that they are not good enough ,even with a new coach teaching them

  3. If Utd are going for Lozano then we should be going for Martial for the £40m apparent asking price. He wants out according to his agent & we need a tricky winger this window as we have no real wingers if we are honest… Mhiki & Iwobi are not wingers!

  4. leno, Torreira, papa and guendozi together with auba, mkhi and laca….top 4 is guaranteed

if we want to win the title then we have to sign at least another 3

    1. Nothing is guaranteed.
We don’t know who City, United, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs are signing

  5. Sorry for being wrong about the announcement time but by today if not 100% tomorrow he will be an Arsenal player. Our signings in the few days so far are:
    Matteo Guendouzi(19)
    Lucas Torreira(22)
    Sam Greenwood(16)
Joel Lopez(16)News coming in is that Torreira will wear No. 29 or 24.

    1. Kev you got it wrong again this time. But I understand complications can occur in a deal. I am excited about this signing.

  6. @ admin.
Put us out of our Misery?
    What are you drinking?
We are all up beat right now.
    Feel the vibe.
Eager, excited, anticipation is how we feel right now. 🙂 🙂 🙂

  7. im excited that England has reached the final (99.99%)

only the refereee can deny it

    1. Really?Only the red can deny us?The fact the team is loaded with Serial Choking Spuds might have a role to play.

  8. I don’t understand everyone’s obsession with buying a winger , Arsenal has a certain tactic for attacking and it requires a striker and based on the number of goals we scored last season our attack is actually good , so there is no “dire” need for a winger , our problem last season was defense and that’s what we are focusing on this transfer window.

    1. Its about stretching the play, using the full width of the field so the centre does not become congested quite so easy. Crossing too, we don’t have anyone who can consistently swing that ball in, in the way defenders and GK’s hate it, right in the sweet spot between GK & CB’s. We cut inward much too often, most of what we do is in front of defenders, I don’t know why this doesn’t bother you that we’re always heading towards the no10 area eventually, even when out wide it is usually a cut back. Lacazette stopped making darts towards the goal line because of it, he ends up turning his back to the keeper and looking to see if a player was gonna pick it up before the ball would even leave Bellerin’s foot.

      1. A winger could clog up the space out wide needed for Auba, Laca, Mikki, Ozil to utilise and the full backs/wing backs or whatever they are called this week to make their runs.
If they are always in the penalty area waiting for crosses from a winger they are too easy to mark and take up the space needed for Ramsey to make his runs. And which of those do you want to drop to make way for this new winger?
Will be interesting to see what Emery decides… a winger or not – that is the question!
I’m happy with no winger but also happy to go along with Emery and see what he decides. I’m hoping he’s formulating a master plan/line-up to take the EPL by storm!

  9. I wouldn’t mind some further shake up of our CM area. Numbers wise people say we are covered but are we, do you know how these guys are gonna look and how our current ones are gonna respond. Emery had a huge squad at PSG, esp the midfield area. Arsene even used to have huge numbers for CM compared to his defence. PSG had the money fair enough, but its a little telling all the same as there are managers out there who prefer a tight nit group compared to others who want to more choice. Emery might be a manager who likes having a huge squad, has anyone looked into that. Elneny cannot see much first team ball or we’re in trouble, the youngsters with our new signing included cannot have the Arsenal fans pressure on them for too long. Torriera is the only upgrade to our midfield from last season, we don’t even know how he will settle yet. I say we are not done here not yet. Then there’s that winger everyone wants who’s gonna stretch the play and make the creators jobs more easy.

I’m expecting another central midfield man but the Ramsey contract situation might be holding things up. If we get another one now Ramsey might see too much competition for CM places depending on Emery’s preferred formation. And we need to know who’s staying so we can identify what’s needed more accurately. Emery used to go with two box to box players either side of defensive midfielder, so Ramsey should feel confident and sign the bloody thing so we can move forward with our improvements. Ramsey, you’re most peoples top shout for Captain of the Arsenal, you already seen the damage that Ozil and Alexis done by holding out. Yes they got what they wanted but they put our form at risk which translates to damaging our clubs reputation. Come on Ramsey lets do this.

  10. If Ramsay doesn’t sign a contract extension soon, he will be sold. The trinity will not allow players to run down their contracts.

    1. But who can we buy that has Ramsey’s attributes
      •no pace
      •can’t beat a man
      •can’t pass a ball
      •can’t shoot straight
      •rarely scores
•plays his international football for a second rate Country
•comes from a Third World Country
      •falls over a lot
•has a pretty wide bottom that makes his shorts look tight

No need to buy a replacement as we already have an identical one at the Club-Alex BONGO Iwobi

      1. Something else you got wrong Kev number 11 shirt , maybe it’s about time you retired from being an insider at arsenal ,because you have got pretty much everything wrong this window just like the previous 4 windows
