Confirmed Arsenal team to take on Man United – Welbeck starts!

Arsenal have announced their side to take on Manchester United today, and Danny Welbeck is a surprise inclusion against his former side.

Granit Xhaka was ruled out of today’s game when Arsene Wenger held his pre-match press conference on Thursday, but returned to training yesterday and has managed to recover in time to play today.

Shkodran Mustafi has been in training this week but has been left out of the squad, with Holding and Monreal lining up alongside Koscielny.

I’m not quite sure of Wenger’s thinking with Danny Welbeck, as I would much prefer to have seen Theo Walcott or Alexis Sanchez playing centrally to add to their impressive tallies this term.

Will this team be strong enough to win today?

    Good to see holding back
Welbz stretches defences more than giroud

    Hopeful of a win
    Nothing more

Come on Arsene beat mourinho once just once

It’s still 0-0 at Anfield (89th minute) and they missed a pen.
I haven’t anything to say about our lineup lol ?? I’m just praying for the unlikely 3 points.
    Coyg’s ?⚪️??

  3. Break-on-through

Prefer Welbeck there than Walcott or Giroud. Otherwise we’d have two players doing allot of ball watching. I hope Danny switches around with Ozil if our wing-back starts getting isolated.

    1. Goonerboy

Yes, but Welbeck hasn’t been good enough in recent weeks, am gutted for Lucas he could have gotten his chance

      1. GunnerJack

If he was fully fit AW would not have picked him… he’s not one of his little darling favourites.

Hahahahahaha its hilarious how optimistic some fans are. Mourinho will either draw or win the game. Don’t forget its still Wenger in charge.

I bet you feel like a twat now. Arsenal have been all over United today. Mourinho’s first defeat against Wenger in the league. So much for your faith in “the special one”. Mourinho hasn’t got a clue. United bottled it and tried to get a 0-0.

Monreal should be wingback. Gibbs not good enough to start, and Monreal links up way better with Alexis.

    1. Goonerboy

Exactly my thought, Gibbs doesn’t cut it for me, Bellerin can do well in that position imo…
Strong line-up from ManU but we can win this!

  6. John Ibrahim

Even fans do not hv confidence in the players and manager anymore

    Time for a change

  7. Janssen

easy win. Never sure about Ramsey starting and not happy about the left flank being ruled by two left backs with Monreal and Gibbs, last time that didn’t generate much forward pressure. Guess Wenger is afraid of Man U.

How sweet a win would be!!!!

I think that the right choice playing Welbeck instead of giroud, cos Welbeck a bee always buzzing around and can unlock defences’ better
Good to see holding back a player of the future

  9. Quantic Dream

I think it will be a draw…man utd are unbeaten in 25 games and Mourinho always gets the better of Le Potato head.

  10. John Ibrahim

Wenger is afraid of a weaken man utd with their B team…..

How we have fallen so low

  11. jisig

I really wish Iwobi could get a run. No one to hold the ball. The OX has no football brain. Metchewww.

  12. reddb10

The only reason ozil keeps playing is to retan some value when we sell him. he is that s#!t

  13. jisig

There is no passion in this team anymore. They are always afraid of the bug teams. This is not Arsenal at all!!!!!

  14. RSH

Twice Ox has blatantly decided not to make easy passes that would’ve created goal scoring opportunities.

  15. Rkw

uncomfortably in Manchester but can’t face going to any local to watch this kind of half baked football … as soon as Ramsey’s name comes up I know we will be mediocre …

        1. Charlie-Nick

          You’re an aggressive SOB aren’t you. ?
We’ve got the players we’ve got , and Ramsey is putting in a shift, and making great runs
We know you’re the ONLY real Arsenal fan…but we all have our opinions.
          so STFU

          1. Rkw

Wow … your celebration of mediocrity know no bounds … just like with the whippet his one dimensional sub average football sends u in to raptures … putting in a shift … lol …lhere are players in lower divisions who do it week in week out for a fraction of what this hapless Welshman earns … nothing to do with real fans have put up with that for 5 years … time to move on

When I said Iwobi is far better than Ramsey I always get thumbs down. Ever since Wenger dropped Iwobi to the bench how many time have Arsenal won a game? Tell me.

    1. RSH

neither are that good. Iwobi played for several months after his form took a massive dip. I don’t know why you’re hyping him up when he wouldn’t really make much of a difference.

    2. Muffdiver wants change...not for arsenal...for.the vending machine, I'm thirsty as f###

      Ramsey having Good game.

      Can’t front

        1. Fatboy Gooney

Poor old deprived Gooners ?? left delusional in their judgment over the useless Bale wannabe ?
His ?? .. Open your eyes, just because his touched the ball more than the rest of his teammates, he’s also forked it up the most aswell lol ?

    3. Tidan2

Pretty dumb time to say it when Ramsey is one of the better players today, though.

      1. Fatboy Gooney

Ramsey is a W@nker and a useless one at that.
He’s always in the right position to fork things up.

  17. RSH

Okay first half. At least we looks capable of creating chances. Better decision making in final third is needed though. Ox is making poor choices today in good positions. Holding has been great so far, Xhaka decent too… As usual, Ozil keeps you wanting. Don’t get it.

  18. Big G

I can’t say its been great to watch so far but at least we are creating chances.

    1. Dee23

What’s Rashford gonna do? You pay too much respect to United. United aren’t as attacking as they used to be.

  19. Fatboy Gooney

    Boooooom! ⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️⚽️
    That’s the way to Go
    Shoot God dammit ??

  20. jisig

Arsene Wenger should learn from Mou. The moment we got the second goal Mou quickly made substitutions. Arsene can’t do that.

      1. RSH

nah, wenger should learn from mourinho. Then he might finally get a champions league trophy instead of a top 4 one.

  21. luvdaguns

wonder what is our record w giroud starting this season vs off the bench…

  22. Big G

Pleasantly surprised but i’ll take the points. Arsenal have a lot of buying and selling to do if that was the best they could do against a 2nd string Utd.
