Confirmed Official Arsenal team at Brighton – All out attack!”

Guessing which Arsenal starting XI that Arsene wenger will pick on any given day is like playing Russian Roulette nowadays, he seems to chop and change as he is desperately trying to find a winning combination, but I bit the bullet (geddit!) and predicted this team earlier in my Brighton v Arsenal Preview….

Bellerin  Chambers Mustafi  Koscielny  Kolasinac
Xhaka Ramsey
Welbeck Ozil

So let us compare that with Arsene Wenger’s confirmed XI…

Chambers, Koscielny, Mustafi, Kolasinac.
Wilshere, Xhaka, Iwobi.
Mkhitaryan, Özil.

A very attacking choice I think. With our defence in disarray, it is no wonder that Wenger is going to set up to score more than our opponents. Hopefully Aubameyang will get a lot more service with Iwobi, Wilshere, Mkhitaryan and Ozil doing the providing. Brighton will defend in numbers so it seems to be the sensible thing to do…

it is also telling that Bellerin is put on the bench after playing all of every single League game this season. Has wenger had enough or does the Spaniard just need a rest??

Just as an aside, I found this tweet from Brighton which I thought was quite amusing….

The best livescore service around!

Good luck Brighton, please add another mail in Wenger’s coffin.

Hope we win, but if we lose I hope it is 5-0.

    1. gotanidea

He wouldn’t go even if he loses to Brighton, so better pray we win today

Let’s see Xhaka as DM again, will he improve? And let’s hope Iwobi can suddenly shift his gear to become Arsenal’s Mbappe

  2. Godswill

Trying to find his team as if he is just coming in.
We will win but it is time for him to leave.

  3. ayodeji

Brighton good luck today ,attack and tried to get the first goal surely Arsenal and Wonger will collapse,

  4. bran911

If we win this, AKBs will come back to this group all guns blazing, coz they’ve been quiet for a while now

    1. Highbury44

So when Wenger leaves and a new manager is appt do you honestly believe that season we will be title challenges. It will take years and a shed load of money which the new manager won’t be getting and in any case Man City with all their monies will dominant football for years. So just accept Arsenal in the short term will not be winning anything other than the occasion cup.Just like now

      1. bran911

Whatever the case, coz AKBs have been worshipping this old failure in the expense of our beloved club, so he better leave no matter who comes and how long it takes for us to win something, the biggest fraud in football history has to leave

    2. Disturbance

Win/draw or Lose Wenger needs to go ASAP, but this won’t happen. I don’t wanna know what will happen against Milan…

  5. McLov

1-1, we will get owned in the first half.

Then score a scrappy equalizer and after Wenger will come out saying how we showed character, mental strength etc.

  6. Me

Although I want Wenger gone I do feel sympathy for him – his players have let him down terribly this season and last.
When the new manager comes in I hope many of them will be shipped out – if you cannot fight for the club in thick or thin you have no business playing for a top club like Arsenal and we are a top club even if our position does not reflect this at the moment…

  7. Gavana

I want Brighton to win and our luck in the last 16 of European football will complete to realize what have been craving for!
    Wenger out!

  8. jonfox

Amid all this gloom , I have a different take on it entirely. The certainty of Wengers sacking moves ever closer and THAT is a prime reason to rejoice. I fully accept that he has left the cupboard bare and demotivated so the new man has a herculean task to even begin the repair job. I hope for a crushing defeat today at Brighton but now the team is announced , my prediction of a draw made yesterday, is that I now think we will win. But I am sure the sacking is very close, irrespective of todays game. Possibly as soon as the morning after we exit the Europa to AC Milan, please God!

  9. I turned the whole world down to be here with you

I saw Iwobi on the team sheet. Time to write this one off

    1. Break-on-through

Rested for Milan, Ozil and Mkhit aren’t the type that need rest, Auba is suspended.

  10. Elliot

Interesting how ramsey isnt even on the bench? People are saying he’s the one who leaked this “meeting”… Good! The football isnt interesting but at least the drama is! Is he still not fit???

    1. Break-on-through

I hope it wasn’t him, whoever leaked that info gave no consideration to Arsenal nor Koscielny, it was a low blow and not easily forgivable.

  11. Break-on-through

Would prefer Niles at right back than Chambers. Niles must be better right back than left, and he played there even though we have two international left backs. That move out wide stunts any momentum CC’s been making. At this moment CC was our most in form CB.

  12. Ackshay

Another stupid decision from the deluded one, chambers who struggles against pacy players against izquierdo or gross is sending him to get slaughtered. Dont be hard on chambers if he has a bad day.
Ramsey has disappeared after wenger put him not fully fit vs city. I guarantee you this pathetic looking squad would look much better with hard manager like conte or simeone.

  13. Break-on-through

It’s difficult watching my team these days, you’d need to one of those dudes that hires out a dominatrix to appreciate this Arsenal.

  14. Sue

Is it too much to ask just to sit down & watch your team play some good football & actually win a game for once?? Every f*****g week it’s the same s**t…… I am so p****d off with… sorry for the swearing… arsenal give me tourettes

    1. Robin Vanpayslip

The sad thing is that there is too much Arsenal on tv so I am obliged to watch this nonsense and then I have a season ticket so have to go and watch this **** in person too.

      1. Sue

I’m going to the Watford game (Not got a season ticket) I can honestly say… I really don’t want to go

  15. rkw

there is no ffing football on show … 10 years of this fossilised moron and this is how it ens … he hass to go

  16. WiserthanWenger

Useless Iwobi kept getting robbed off the ball ! He never ever attempted any defensive work & nvr contribution in attack ! Only stand & run around ! He is the 1st one who should be kicked out of Arsenal !

    1. bran911

I remember such a comment mate, and the prophecy is fulfilled. Is this comedy now? Don’t see anything called football from arsenal

    1. Robin Vanpayslip

if he got up every time his players ****ed up he wouldn’t have any knees left.

    1. Wolf

He should go today and give us a chance against milan under someone else’s leadership. With Wenger we already know we’re going to lose so what’s the point he staying beyond today???

      The mans got no shame

  17. Sandeep

Such a shame our player even can’t pass simple passes, players like rosciky can do no look pass.

  18. Coldzero

    2-0 bloody dreadful!

This team is doing a Chelsea or Leicester and wants rid of the clueless one I think.

  19. Nothing changed

when we lost against City someone did an “objective’ analysis of City’s budget vs ours. I wonder what today’s analysis is going to say Brighton must have a budget one-tenth of ours.

  20. AndersS

Wenger has already released his comments on the game:

We controlled the game very we, untill Brighton scored their first goal, which was clearly a free-kick against our goalkeeper.
We had good overall performance, but we didn’t get the result we wanted. We have to focus on the next game, and we will assess the situation after the season.
My god….. will it ever end

  21. Ronny

So will he be sacked after this game?
Kos giving the ball mustafi not marking his man……is this intentional? Or are we really this bad due to confidence?
And everyone said sanchez was the bad apple dragging us back….hmmmm

  22. Ronny

    @cold zero
Agree I never thought we’d do a Chelsea or Leicester but we’ve got to be……..this is not confidence this is lack of effort!
Someone from inside had instigated a “Wenger out” strategy.
So keep losing will Wenger see the 10 games and europa out?

  23. Mertinho

    Arsene Mugabe Out!
    Kim Jong Wenger Out!
    Arsene Hitler Out!
    Arsene Stalin Out!
    Arsene Mussolini Out!
    Saddam Wenger Out!
    Arsene Gaddafi Out!

Wenger will finally join the list of outed dictators! Good ridance you old ignorant pri*k

    1. jonfox

How much I hate people who sit on the fence! And why no Genghis Khan Wenger! I actually think Wenger is a great manager. He is great at managing to pay his credit card balance, great at paying the gas bill, great at finding his own way home, great at brushing his teeth, less than great at doing his jacket zip up, but hey, we can’t have everything can we. After all, AS he only earns £9 million a year, we can’t expect him to manage our club properly too. His other accomplishments are GREAT! Especially his great ability to con so many fans for the last decade!

  24. rkw

this is the worst 40 minutes i have ever watched from an arsenal team … wenger should quit at half time

  25. J GOON

Cech (Past it, sorry Petr but your not world class)
Bellerin (not been good for about a year now)
Chambers (brighton tearing him a new one)
Mustafi (cant defend or play the ball)
Koscielny (Past it, sorry Kos but you used to be great)
Kolasinac (bundesliga team of the year last season, could be good but the rest of the defence is shocking)
Xhaka (not a cdm, not really a midfielder, what does he do?)
Wilshere ( why do we have 3 playmaker midfielders on the field and no wingers?)
Mkhitaryan, ( why do we have 3 playmaker midfielders on the field and no wingers?)
Ozil, ( why do we have 3 playmaker midfielders on the field and no wingers?)
Iwobi, (dont know what he does or gives to our team)
Aubameyang (Looks like he is full of regret!)

Watching arsenal this season has been painful to say the least. Cant even pass it anymore which used to get us out of defensive frailties.

No joke, Brighton could be 4 up by now.

Does make me wonder what having giroud playing with auba could have brung.

Arsene and Bould have sat there, with no tactical nouse for the past games. Brighton were probably expecting the 3 points today!

Arsene Out/ Bould out. Massive clear out of all the dross we have accumulated. rebuild.

  26. Ronny

I’m long past caring about humiliation @ bur
Keep it like this but…..when oh when will someone on the board pipe up?!
Been counters they all are they know nothing about football but lots about money hence wenget having free reign but with mislintat and others Wenger is needed less now than ever!

    At least auba just scored!

  27. Ronny

Who thinks it was a good move selling coquelin now? The only dm player we’ve had for years.

    1. Break-on-through

Do you think Coquelin could have saved this season. It’s better that we have room for players to arrive in summer, two new CM’s, spend about forty-fifty mil on the right one rather than watching Coquelin without Cazorla.

  28. Ronny

‘No look pass’ do you really buy into that cr*p?!
Stupid waste of neck energy when players that forcefully looking the other way. A no look pass to me is like ozil plays when he’s on form he plays the ball to a player in his peripheral vision.

  29. reddb10

now we know why some of the players were happy to see sanchez go. He probably laid into them for being a lazy bunch of useless c###s

  30. rkw

8m quid a year to a man who doesnt understand the basics of football … nice if u can get it

  31. Adam Criniti

AFC have for years been a well deserved punch line by pundits and haters throughout the EPL, but my oh my what an absolute abomination the club is at the present moment.

Historic lows for the number of consecutive losses on tge road.
30 points(And counting) behind oil City
Consecutive years without Champions League football
Highest EPL finish in the history of Wengers tenure at the club
Lockeroom unrest between players and now with the coaching staff.

I just can’t fathom being one of the Kroenkes or members of the board and sitting by idly as the future of the club is crumbling before there eyes.

This is Leeds United and Aston Villa Part 2.

  32. Alatari Douglas

Arsenal are low on confidence no doubt about it. The coach needs to leave the club asap. Nothing motivates the players anymore.

  33. GoonAR

We need to unite around a new manager what else needs to happen for you to resign you dinosaur?

  34. Gavana

The next win for Arsenal will come on 15th April against Newcastle!
Coz Watford, stoke and Southampton are very hard to beat! OMG! where shall we be in the table by then?

  35. ayodeji

Wenger will come and say the best way to respond is our next match ,and we will show that on the pitch

  36. Arsene Out

Happy to loose every game left as long as it convinces Stan to get rid of Arsene.

Arsene, who if he had any honor, any sense of responsibility, any love for Arsenal, would have quit a long time ago.

  37. jonfox

Fabulous result for us. Will Wenger be sacked in the morning? Today? Or will he limp on til ACMilan knock us out? If the club don’t sack him by then at the latest, they are clearly intent on suicide. I will be very interested to see the ACTUAL crowd against Watford, IF he is not sacked already. They MUST put Bould in temporary charge, NOW, until the permanent manager is installed.
