Confirmed teams for Arsenal v Doncaster – Wilshere & Nelson start!

Arsenal have announced their makeshift team for the Carabao Cup encounter with Doncaster Rovers.

As expected, Arsene Wenger has given chances to a number of fringe players, although a good balance of experience and youth is starting in today’s line-up.

You will all be pleased to hear the Reiss Nelson has been given the start out wide today, with both Rob Holding and Ainsley Maitland-Niles also bringing some rare young talent into the team also.

This team looks way too strong to be troubled by today’s opponents, but how dominant a win do you guys expect?

I’ll go with a 5-0 win, with Walcott opening the scoring.

    1. Our (Arsenal) nightmare – Didier Drogba- started his career as a defender before he was converted to a striker. Nelson can still be moulded to ANY position.

  1. He never learns does he, he never f*ing learns. Nelson at RWB, Maitland Niles at LWB what is this bulls*t. That is how you ruin promising youngsters.

  2. I love to see Nelsson given chances to play but not a wing back, his strength is in attacking…What the hell is Wenger doing?

  3. Nelson: oh man my fifa 18 stats look bad
Wenger overheard: I can help u out. U play defense now.
Nelson: nvm boss, just a video game
    Wenger: too late it’s done

  4. Walcott is ahead of Nelson in pecking order, Wilshere ahead of Niles, so it looks good to me. Giving minutes to players who could likely play a part at some stage, and some minutes to a couple kids, seems fair. If Nelson can improve his all round game, so much the better, because no matter how good their strengths are, their weaknesses can take away from that.

  5. hmmmm …. lethargy the overwhelming sentiment with sanchez the only stand out player … nelson, elneny and wilshire ok but this is doncaster for god sake … the problem with elneny and giroud in paticular is not that they are bad players just that whoever they are up against they will always be just ok

    1. I think we deserve everything coming our way. How cld we struggle at home against Doncaster with the players we have? And how are you getting thumb downs?

      1. Let’s not fool ourselves. All those players are 1st team except Nelson and Niles, plus this was a lowly and struggling Doncaster. That wsd really not convincing from us!

        1. A team that plays week and week out against a team made up for this game, yes we should of done better was unlucky first half should of been 3 or 4 up but just didn’t happen then we just lost our way second half, the positives from this game Jack is showing some of his old self

      2. They are all senior players. Part of a senior squad. If this is what they can do it’s not good enough. They are not good enough for a “team” who are supposedly title contenders. Weegor’s purchases.

  6. Please don’t blame Wenger today for bizarre performance. I was very angry on performance of Nelson, Giroud and elneny. Nelson thinks he is already a superstar and he has attitude problem. He must learn from santi to be a humble player. So many mistakes. Per was just like a eifel tower. Sanchez never got a good support. Jack Wilshire must be man of the match as he showed his abilities. I think this match must be forgotten asap. Nothing special and no dominance.
