Could Mohamed Elneny be next Arsenal player to be sold?

Arsene Wenger seems to be acting strangely as, despite his public statements saying that he doesn’t want to lose any  of his Arsenal players, he appears to be listening to offers for just about anyone right now!

After admitting yesterday that Francis Coquelin could be leaving the Emirates – “It’s a possibility,” he said. “but nothing is decided.” – it is now being rumoured that another midfielder, Mohamed Elneny, is being targeted by the new West Ham manager David Moyes. Our London neighbours, who changed their manager to try and buck their descent into the relegation zone, were also previously reported to be interested in Coquelin, but that has now been denied by Wenger – “No, we have no contact with West Ham.”

But according to Sky Sports, Elneny is definitely one of the names on Moyes list of wanted midfielders, and it is easy to envisage that the Egyptian hero could be keen on finding first-team action ahead of this summers World Cup Finals in Russia.

Elneny has been out of favour with Wenger for some while and has only made three League starts this season. With a surplus of midfielders at the club, Wenger tried him out as a defender but with disastrous results and he has since only been picked for Europa League or Caraboa Cup games, and with emerging youngsters like Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson coming into contention Elneny has dropped even further down the pecking order.

Egypt are making their first appearance at the World Cup for 28 years and Elneny wants to be fit and ready to make a big impact on the World stage, but would Arsenal fans care if he was sold this January?

  1. Coquelin, Walcott, Elneny, Sanchez out in January would be a productive window in terms of departures. Then Wenger this summer, and give new manager a fresh start and club a new direction. This is the best way to save the club currently. Unfortunately we can’t do much to make Stan Kroenke pack his bags as well.

  2. Bye bye Sanchez baby
    Bye bye
    You deserve better
You could have been a bit more professional though
But I understand your actions coz I would have done exactly the same
You are a South American who has come to Europe to win trophies & earn money
You don’t owe anything to the club
You were promised something by Wenger which never came to fruition
    So we part ways
But that doesn’t stop me from liking you as a player
Wishing you all the best in your future endeavors

    1. He has already agreed a deal worth £250,000 a week for 4 year. All that is,left is,the fee which I’m shocked hasn’t been yet agreed.

    2. What bs.

Promised what by Arsene? Delivered one great year. Offered everything since but turned it all down at the expense of the club. No doubt unsettled Ozil, the ox and others. Immature idiot who openly sulked on the touch line and the infamous grin when he was benched and we lost. Behaved in several games as unprofessionally as he could..everything from poor passing, running up blind alleys, even arguing with the ref at times looked like he was angling to be sent off. Screw up by Arsenal but Sanchez ain’t no hero, just another mercenary.

    1. HE is a gem! more on mousa Dembele category if he ends up some for say 44mln mark my word he will be sold with same amount sa coutinho

        1. Also Fekir, Leon Bailey, and Pavon those are kind of smart attacking players we need not Walcott! even Mahrez will be better has been a customs now for mr Wenger to hang on some players even if they are not helping a team – just rewarding them for being loyal to him – Diaby, Rosicky, Walcott, Jenkinson, Debuchy and now i can see the main reason why our best players want to move on.

      1. We already have a bid in for Malcom in the region of £42m.Bordeaux want £48m.We’re likely to negotiate and I think that’s already happening.Pavon and Malcom were all watched by Minslintat at Dortmund.

        1. I hope so Kev, and good thing is Sven is a bridge between wenger and Gazidis not like the previous one Steve Rowley who used to report directly to wenger and that caused the situation we are in now! poor infrastructure for a long long time Spain big two have atleast a team of five people from President himself they share opinion where to strength in Asenal was the opposite ” as long as i am here i will be the one who decide” running football club is a team work not individual personal opinion and philosophy which never work out for long time – he get away with it before he was bringing in money for selling players and make Arsenal football club participants and not competetors any more

            1. Just been notified that in the meeting a guarantee of one Ozil or Sanchez staying is needed. This might cause trouble but money talks.

              1. Ozil because he refuses to go anywhere as he is looking to maximise his salary and he knows he will get more if he goes on a free.

              2. how is that even possible to guarantee, wtf… If Ozil signs it’s not going to be happening this month.

  3. JUST IN:It looks like many people here are confused about the Sanchez situation so I’d like to provide some clarity.
Man City’s bid of £20m has been rejected by the club.We have allowed City to speak to Sanchez and he has agreed a deal worth £250,000 a week on a 4-year contract. This means personal terms have been agreed but not the fee.We will like to do a deal at£35m.We should not be expecting Sanchez to feature today. It’s only left with the fee.

Francis Coquelin’s move is done for £10m and he will earn £65,000 a week.

    1. Wrong kike Marin just confirmed were getting wait for it ….

      22 million for coquelin !!!

Ivan g you gangster ! That’s more like it

      1. £22m for Coquelin? Are you sure about that?

For those interested in Malcom,if the deal does not happen it’s because we could not guarantee him that one of Ozil or Sanchez is staying.News coming in is that we met with his agent and that it was said that a guarantee of one of Ozil and Sanchez staying was needed. We could not guarantee any of them staying actually. But the deal may still happen because money talks.

    1. Sanchez is going to City
      Coquelin is gone to Valencia
Walcott will be going to either Everton or Southampton

              1. I just heard that Barcelona and Real are crazy for him but Wenger wont sell! Ha ha ha ha ha ha
pure Barcelona had to buy Couthino when they couldnt aford Ramsey!

            1. @Maks
Well done, love that comment. Wish i could thumb it up 144 times.
Ramsey better split, Won’t miss his undisciplined, glory seeking, tedious ways.

Ivan the dealmaker eh? Now package Walcott and Iwobi together and offer up as two-for-one

        1. NO! To an all night drug party instead. Though that may be in Ibiza! I would raher that part be in outer space, as long as he goes thee , never to return. Come to think about it, he looked “spaced out” against Forest. I FINALLY SPOTTED SOMEONE WHO LOOKED LIKE HIM, WEARING HIS SHIRT, AGAINST FOREST. Hiding away from all the action!

      1. And Wenger will go online to examine his bank big fat grossly unearned statement, and say “Look! Ov’rall it is solid and shows mental strens and I was proud of it and, as well, the bank gave absolutely everysink today.” I AM SICK TO DEATH OF THIS REPULSIVE MAN AND HIS TRITE, SHEER LYING STATEMENTS, REPEATED AD NAUSEUM. I have to use ridicule to get the frustaration out of me!

  4. Malcom,mavropanos,pavon

all watched by Minslintat at bvb

it seems that Minslintat is taking over recruitment.
i bet wenger isn’t one happy lad right now.

    1. Dont you remember few days on pre conference N.forrest/Arsenal?
He took a swipe at Sven saying that they knew every players in Europe even before he came in when asked about if mavropanos was Sven job very angry tone and an insult to Sven

  5. I have to say I like Elneney and think he is overlooked. He is not a sexy player but IMO more balanced than Xhaka or Coq and for the £5 million we paid for him a hell of lot better deal than Xhaka.

    1. Elneny is ok but just ok and mentaly he is scared and sometimes easy going. We need fighters like one who is leaving us right now as we speak.
But overol its better he leaves. It will be also great to see his deja vu when Guardiola starts giving him last 15 min like it happened at Barcelona.

        1. Cos you are….and if you are not son of Admin himself It s great how you manages to get so

          Hello Admin….

            1. I kind of get what he’s saying. It’s hard not to like Elneny. He doesn’t do anything wrong because he doesn’t take any risks. All his passes are pretty standard, below par defensive contribution, doesn’t score, doesn’t assist. He’s honestly just another body and doesn’t contribute much in any sense besides for holding possession which we’re already rather good at. He’s the definition of a squad player.

        2. By watching him , obviously. IT IS AMAZING HOW MUCH YOU CAN GET TO KNOW BY JUST PROPERLY WATCHING! And then properly interpretating what your eyes have just seen. Elneny is terrified of making a forward pass. Anyone can see that. MENTALLY SCARED? Yes, with knobs on and doubled!

  6. Dont you remember few days on pre conference N.forrest/Arsenal?
He took a swipe at Sven saying that they knew every players in Europe even before he came in when asked about if mavropanos was Sven job very angry tone and an insult to Sven

  7. yeah arnold
sven is clearly getting on wenger’s nerves.

he also had a difficult relationship with former bvb coach thomas tuchel.

sven is a badass.he does what he likes.

  8. I hope Xhaka leaves (No hate. I wish him all the best). But the fact we paid £35 mil for him means he will continue to start to justify his price. And he isn’t good enough to start for Arsenal. He is a far cry from Cazorla, Rosicky or Viera. Neither is Coquelin and Eleny.

We need big changes in Central midfield innit.

  9. I am very interested to see how Sanchez will fit it at Shity as a teammate and not the “one”. Better and/or more just as good players there, so will be interesting to see how his ego is affected. Just curiosity. I am not so bummed he is finally going to leave.

    1. You say ego i say ambition. 30 goals and 16 assists; i think Sanchez will pick up where he left off without missing a beat.
I appreciate the fact he isn’t bitching and whining to the media. Some of our coddled players find it easier to complain about Sanchez than to raise their game up to match Sanchez.

Surprised he stayed this long. Did he want to leave in a previous year? Was he told to honor his contract and he will never be sold? I think there is much much more than what we see.
