Coveted international striker names Arsenal as possible destination

Timo Werner has stated that he wants to move to a big club in the future, naming Arsenal as a possible destination.

The 21 year-old shot to fame with RB Leipzig last season, scoring 21 goals in 31 Bundesliga outings and has impressed on the international stage also, scoring six goals in only seven competitive appearances.

Werner is naturally being watched by all the top clubs currently, and while he is trying to remain grounded, he is aware that futures in football change continuously.

“So far, I have progressed very well with Leipzig,” he said.

“That is why I do not think what is ahead in one, two or three years.

“Of course I want to play at a big club. But, we have not yet come to terms with the development at Leipzig. Perhaps RB will be a big club too – I’m quite sure.

“In Spain there are a maximum of three clubs with Barca, Real and Atletico Madrid. In England there are a few more: Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City.

“FC Bayern is also a big club, but for me it is not a topic that I am concerned with.”

It sounds to me as if Werner is already considering his future, but with the transfer window having only just closed, he has no reason to declare his wish to leave.

Werner is proving to be one of the most wanted players outside the bigger clubs in Europe, and his value will only increase as he continues to impress.

RB Leipzig do not seem keen to sell their players without a fight, as shown by their sale of Naby Keita, who will have to see out the season with his current club. Liverpool pursued him throughout the summer, but were unable to tempt the Red Bull franchise to allow him to leave immediately, and still shafted them for a whopping £48 Million.

Could Arsenal land Werner? Is he the real deal? Does he sound like he could be open to a switch in the near future?

Sorry OT, but Santi is not in the official squad photo taken yesterday.
Good news is that Nelson, Willock and Nketiah are.

There is a note to say Santi was in Spain for review when the photo session was taken.

One would assume AFC have people with photoshop skills who can easily squeeze in Santi if they wanted to before releasing the photo’s.

Arsenal already has Lacazette, so they will chase other players, not another striker. Most likely they will try to get replacements for Sanchez and Ozil, if they leave.

PSG has to sell many players in January, like Di Maria, Draxler, Moura, Pastore, etc. Jean Seri, Rafinha and Adama Traore are also still available at a bargain price.

Hehehe he mentioned all the big teams in England, but the title sounds like he only chose Arsenal from England.. get real.. our position shows the real quality we are team wise, he’d rather choose the top 4 giants (we aren’t one of them no more)

Honestly, we won’t be considered a big club unless we are in Champions League.

Right now Spurs are probably more attractive than us to top players.

That’s why we should try our best in Europa League. Mourinho was quite smart to concentrate more on Europa League than PL because he knew he would be in Champions League and strengthen this summer which he did by signing Lukaku, Ibrahimovich and Matic.

Because Wenger did not strengthen enough, I would play our top players in Premier League and Europa League and play fringe players in FA Cup and League Cup. Wenger has won FA Cup 7 times anyway lol

But seriously, winning Europa gives us a Trophy, money AND free ticket to Champions League.

Even if we accomplish that, which will be tough, we will need to do better next summer than this summer. We didn’t even get rid of all our deadwood.

We just spent £50 million on striker! How about new CB, DM, CM instead? Sorry for that, major typo…Wenger will never address the problem of a DM!

Stop transfer talk buddy it’s over already Wenger makes us suffer every window, he should have brought a striker 3-4 years ago.and a quality mid Fielder but he will take 3 more years to bring a quality mid Fielder.

Wenger back at it with the whacky talk and it seems he isn’t going to take Europa League serious. Ugh… This guy seriously thinks we can get top 4, haha. Europa League is our only hope, this old guy better wake up and take this competition seriously. A European trophy is up for grabs and Wenger has never touched one.

No bid, no signing. Simple as that.

    This guy isn’t the first.

We won’t see anything unless bid was made.

Why gets so excited over player which will not come through that door?

Wenger should not even try to convince Ozil to stay. We wants 300k/week for what really? Running like a sick man. The media says Ozil was good against Bournemouth. Watch the game on Sunday, then report the good part of Ozil. Thats his level, of which he should play there (Bournemouth, Watford, Newcastle, and Brighton).
If Wenger can give Ozil contract extension and pay him anything above 150k/week. I am no longer supporting Arsenal. I am tired of supporting players like Ozil and Giroud. Ramsey is a hard worker but he needs to learn that he does not have dribbling skills, PLAY IT SIMPLE MR. RAMSEY AND YOU BE A GOOD COZ U LOSE POSSESSION BY TRYING TO DRIBBLE

The lads are right, we wont sign another striker after getting Lacazette, and with the likes of Nkietah Mavididi it’s likely they will get looked at before any young up and comer from elsewhere. If we do sign one he will be a teenager.

Now onto something serious, what hair styles are Aaron and Bellerin going with this season. I think they let u down last season, it was the cause of all our heartbreak, so lay off Lord Wenger ..badump!
