Crystal Palace v Arsenal Match Preview, Line-up and Score Prediction

Arsenal make the short trip across London to take on Crystal Palace tonight for their second derby in a week.

The Gunners will be looking to build on their 3-0 win against West Ham on Wednesday night, and with each of their rivals having won this weekend, tonight’s Monday Night Football encounter couldn’t be more crucial.

Our win against the Hammers was our only league victory in our last four outings, and we will be hoping that our bad run is over. The Eagles on the other hand have won four of their last five matches, with a loss in midweek to Southampton ending their run of wins.

We come into the match with some key players missing, with both first-choice goalkeepers David Ospina and Petr Cech missing with injury, stand-in skipper Laurent Koscielny out. as well as Santi Cazorla and Lucas Perez unavailable.

We shouldn’t complain about injuries for this encounter however, with our opponents having as many as 11 first-team players out, including Yohan Cabaye, Scott Dann, Loic Remy, James Tomkins and Van Aanholt among others.

Predicted XI:

Martinez
Bellerin  Mustafi  Gabriel  Monreal
Elneny  Xhaka
Walcott   Ozil      Iwobi
Alexis

Sam Allardyce has lost to Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal 15 times in 26 attempts, and that tally should only get worse for him as we look to push on with our fight for the top four.

I expect our fluid passing and creative spark to cause untold problems for Palace’s depleted side, and we should come away with a few goals. I’m going for a 3-1 away win, although I wouldn’t be surprised to see Emiliano Martinez pick up another clean sheet tonight.

What are your predictions?

  1. I feel like people get easily fooled by one result. I am sorry. This game is so unpredictable. Palace won at Chelsea and lost against Southampton. It could go either way. I feel that unless City or Pool make a major meltdown, we’ll hardly get top 4.

  2. My prediction is the same 3-1 Arsenal. We need this win actually we need to win every game in the run in and we still have some big games to play. Spurs and Man u ain’t gonna be easy. I wish Wenger left at the end off 2014 and we got Pochettino instead off the Spuds. I think we would have won the league last year and maybe this year with him up top.

  3. I expect:

    Martinez
    Bellerin Mustafi Gabriel Monreal
    Elneny Xhaka
    Walcott Alexis Iwobi
    Welbeck

Actually I want Wenger to be a bit adventurous in the remaining games, as this is the time to do some experiments, to set the basis for next season. I really like Barcelona’s 3-3-1-3. I wish to see it someday in Arsenal:

    Martinez
    Mustafi Gabriel Monreal
    Elneny Xhaka Ramsey
    Walcott Alexis Iwobi
    Welbeck

Or try 3-4-3 if he is not too confident:

    Martinez
    Mustafi Gabriel Monreal
    Bellerin Elneny Xhaka Gibbs
    Iwobi Welbeck Alexis

  4. The line up looks okay basing on available players. looking forward to Wenger bringing in Giroud, Ox and Rambo to kill off the match

  5. You can take out Iwobi from that line up, he has been dropped to the reserves, who are playing this afternoon.

  6. Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Jack Wilshere, Kieran Gibbs, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Aaron Ramsey will be offered new contracts in the summer.

    1. Please tell me that is a joke, please!! The British core was a failed experiment, why continue?

      1. Seriously, it’s been reported by a few different outlets.
I may chat ? now and then but I don’t make up ?? with reports.
Yet theres ass holes on here who thumb me down for spreading the news and then they go on to repeat it a few articles down the line ??
