Martin Keown was talking about Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez’s future at Arsenal, and seems as though he just let slip that Arsene Wenger is leaving the club.
There has been uncertainty over the futures of our two key players this term, as well as that of Arsene Wenger, and Keown seems to believe that all three are leaving this summer.
Alexis Sanchez keeps reiterating that he is willing to stay with the club, but the Gunners hierarchy need to decide on his future, which is a confusing statement to understand… The only thing that makes sense is that he has given them strict contract demands, and he will stay if they are met…
Martin Keown can’t foresee Alexis staying beyond the summer however, and seems to think that both Ozil and Wenger will also be going.
When asked if missing out on Champions League football for next term, Keown said: “It would be another reason for them to demand a move — and Arsene Wenger leaving would be another.
“The club have to work out whether they are willing to push the boat out and pay Sanchez and Ozil substantially more than anyone else.
“They are two special players for Wenger. He warms to players who are particularly gifted with the ball — they are the core of his beliefs in football.
“But there can be problems if you over indulge them. When there was talk of Sanchez and Ozil wanting out, it coincided with Arsenal losing seven games in 12 and getting knocked out of the Champions League.
“Sanchez and Ozil downed tools during those games. There is a fear that if Arsenal give them ridiculous sums of money to stay, they could throw their toys out of the pram once more when things go wrong.
“It seems unlikely that they will stay at the club.”
Did Keown just reveal that Arsene IS going this summer? Do you believe there is any chance we can convince Ozil or Sanchez to stay even if Wenger does go?

Agreed. I’m so sick of all this uncertainty. Arsenal is a worldwide joke that even rival fans are singing for Wenger to stay. How many games did Kroenke go to this season? It is embarrassing.
I think Alexis just means they need to decide whether they want to keep him for another season or if they want to receive a fee for him. I don’t think Keown let anything slip, it’s just an opinion on a possible outcome.
All the rival fans want Wenger to stay, the board ,the owner and arsenal players only a section of Arsenal fan base want him out so the majority rules
The only man responsible for change at Arsenal is Kreonke but isn’t a football fan he is busy counting cows at his ranch,if you give someone a contract to do a job and the job isn’t done well who takes responsibility the one who give the contract to a particular person or the one who performed the contract? Arsenal as a club is run like an organization and not like a football club.
I see Arsenal and Sony run the same way,.. have the resource as to be an Elite company/organization but still are content with 2nd best and play safe!
If Wenger was leaving, I’m pretty sure that millionaire and Arsenal shareholder ? Piers Morgan would have heard about it before Frankenstein Keown did and if that was the case then the whole world would have known about by the massive party Mr motor mouth would have thrown. For those who Remember, it was Morgan who first shed the light on Wenger’s 2 year contract extension offer and that was at the end of last season.

We all know if we win FA Cup, an extension will be announced in 24 hours, but if we lose it will be randomly in the summer after fans cool off. Either way, end result is the same.
