Draxler transfer will NOT mean Arsenal dump Ozil

In one of the latest Arsenal transfer rumours, it is being reported that Arsene Wenger is preparing to go back to Germany in January to sign the young Schalke star Julian Draxler. The Gunners were strongly tipped to sign the talented 20-year old in the summer, but concerns over the fitness issues that saw him miss out on the World Cup triumph in Brazil meant that Wenger went for Alexis Sanchez from Barcelona in a £30 million transfer instead.

So I am not sure why the Daily Express is reporting that it will be Mesut Ozil that will be dropped from the Arsenal line-up, or maybe even moved on, if Arsenal are successful in the attempt to prize Draxler from his Bundesliga employers.

The two Germans do not even play in the same position, unless you assume that the Arsenal boss is going to stubbornly persist in playing the 25-year old in his least favourite position on the left wing. Surely Wenger is not ready to give up so soon on Ozil, especially after his record signing was starting to show real signs of hitting form before he picked up the knee problem that could see him miss the next three months of football.

When Ozil is fit again, I/m fairly sure that we will soon see him back where he can best influence a game and utilise his talents, in the number 10 role behind the forwards. If anyone should be worried about their Arsenal place from the Draxler transfer, I think we should be looking at Herr Podolski. What do you think Gooners?

    1. I prefer Walcott and Ox tbh… We need a defensive warrior for midfield and not another attacking midfielder. We already have to play the ones we have out of position to accommodate them. And if we were to replace Ozil (which I don’t believe) it should be Marco Reus.

    1. we had our shot – an didnt even bother- hes not been at monaco long an they rate him- hes going nowhere

      1. i mean… obviously they rate him, but didn’t they rate james? what about falcao? we could easily buy him from monaco especialy since they bought that 20 yr old bakayoko

        1. He has been excellent this season rated as their fourth best performer with only jao mourinho infront of him as a midfielder.

His pass accuracy is an impressive 89% and his tackle success rate is 55% which is good for a def mid

  1. It means that Arsenal will at last have a trick star playing on the left wing and no Cm and no Fals striker.

Draxler is a genius, and i would be very happy if we would get him in. In the last game against Chelsea you could easily see that Hazard was the main reason we lost. He takes on players and its very hard to take of the ball off of him. Draxler is the same quality.

Rosicky and Santi are getting old so there will be plenty time room for Draxler and Ozil. Do it Arsenal or Chelsea will do it. Coyg

    1. @Ks, pal, I believe the 0x can be our own Hazard, remember his game against Bayern? Yeah, he’d do wonders if played behind the striker and given the freedom to roam the flanks, while the likes of Walcot , Wellbaked and Sanchez play upfront.

    1. Draxler is extremely talented he is a very good In cam, ram, lam, lfwd , and st so he could turn out to be an all round attacking player somthing we only have in Sanchez but draxler is tall.

Another interesting thing is the podolski factor. He may only want to go back to koln but if he has the chance to play for another top German team then why not, he should be part of the deal as they need someone clinical to replace huntelaar who is also set to leave in January . Podolski could also play left in draxler position.

However it would mean no rues.

    1. errmm..have u not heard? kallstrom has fully recovered an his agent was seen at london colney on thursday

      1. Hope not roger ljung clients are all 30+ in age and not very good so it couldn’t be for any of his other clients. We have coqulan waiting for his chance and a nearly ready. Ramsey diaby so w ain’t going down that road anytime soon

  2. any quality german player ends up at bayern or dortmund-
if draxler doesnt -its cos bayern said no- which in itself would be telling

    1. No. Thats not right. Draxler is a wonderful player. Frankly he is highly rated than reus. He us just 20 tipped for the very best in football. Great player ,good vision, techique, pace.etc. Within this young age he has more than 150 Appearance for a big club like schalke. There is no doubt that wenger and arsenal are interested. Its better to have him or we will see him playing against us.

  3. We must not give up on Ozil just yet. Mr. Gru should just stop playing him out of his favourable position (it’s like leaving a fish on dry land and expecting it to swim).

Honestly, I know Ozil, ordinarily, should do well wherever he is played (in de middle or on the flanks), but it’s a universal truth that he performs best in the middle with a pacy front three.

Let us judge Ozil when he starts playing regularly in the middle.

  4. Ohh for God’s sake , when would this Draxler to Arsenal thingy go away?

Admin if you really want to annoy us i would suggest , write an article on Justin Beiber if is an Arsenal Fan or not and how does it affect our PL chances. At least it would make us laugh a little too.

  5. I’d rather get a DM, defender and world class striker. You can’t win PL without one. Cavani, Martinez, Benzema, Huntelaar. City have Aguero, UniTed have Falcao and RVP, Chelski have Costa. We need a top striker.

If we get Draxler, I won’t complain as he is top notch, however I’d prefer Reus as he can play both wing and CAM very well.

    1. I’d have loved for us to get Reus. But with Alexis on the left, Walcott or Ox on the right and an abundance of CAMs, do we need him anymore?

    2. Draxler plays in the same position as rues and is more advanced in his ability in comparison to rues at that age

  6. With Wilshere at 22, Ramsey at 23 and Özil at 25, I don’t think we need to buy and creative midfielders for a few years, not ‘first choice’ ones at least.

We need to focus one bringing in some power to replace the weaker part of our midfield – the defensive side. Whilst our creative players are great, Flamini and Arteta just aren’t the quality we need anymore.

Put simply, I’m uninterested in any other transfers until the hole in our midfield is filled, with the exception of another centre back perhaps.

  7. Germany and Germans are not doing too well these days so I`m not too carried away with the Draxler rumour. I don`t know how long it will take Wenger to listen to those poor deluded fans at Emirates but he needs at least two centre backs, one defensive mid fielder and a fullback. Once the defense is established he can let the youngsters loose.
    Whatever happened to commonsense?

    1. Depending on were wenger sees chambers we only need a centre back.
How would we play all these players u suggest.

We are in for young Tyrone mings 21year old left back
And we would probably get a up and coming star cb like laporte.
We have jenkinson back next season so we would have 4 very good options at right back.

I wouldn’t mind seeing coqulan as the third left back he as performed very well when given the chance to play their.

  8. NO MORE forwards. NO MORE. I don’t care if we are offered Messi/Ronaldo but we need heavy investments in the back 4 and CDM department. An overhaul. Speed and Steel. Getting rid of all the merts/artetas/flaminis/diabys/monreals from the team. We conceeded 20 last season against top 4 last season and still that di*khead Wenger did not learn the lesson this season. Wait till another spanking happens this season and then you all deluded AKBs will see that AW is the biggest curse over Emirates. Imagine Bellarin,Mert,Chambers,Monreal and Arteta as our back 5 against teams like City/Chelsea/Dortmund. This CAN happen and think about it. Good dreams. Gn.

    1. The only one of those players we should consider letting go is diaby n flamin

Arteta is getting a one year extent ion were as the other 2 are free agents in the summer. We should use here wages to sign khedira in the summer. And if coqulan goes in January we can get a quality young def mid in his place.

    2. Invincibles 49. Terrifying ! Maybe a bit unfair on Bellerin and Chambers. As for the others,I’m afraid it’s just not going to happen. Per in particular will be our undoing. Nothing perhaps too wrong about being slow, i.e. Bobby Moore, Steve Bould etc, but you have to bring something else to the table and sadly he doesn’t….

  9. Draxler is a real PL player, Ozil is a La Liga player… The EPL is too much for Ozil I think..

I don’t know why he is struggling to adapt, the likes of Hazard, Mata, Cazorla, Silva, Oscar, Di Maria etc just needed a few games to start showing their worth, looks like it might take Ozil 3-4 seasons to get used to the PL. He joined on a 4 year contract, so that means he might be out of contract before we get our moneys worth..

    WATCH OUT 😉

    1. It’s all to do with style of play ozil lacks the ergency in his but that’s mainly down to how slow arsenals build up play is these days by the time he gets the ball the whole opposition have time to sit back

  10. Our lineup in a few months will be…

    ——–shez——–
    cam–cam–cam–cam
    —–cam—-cam—–
    cam—–cam—–cam
    -welbeck/giroud/sanogo–

  11. Draxler is good but it is little bit overprice. Arsenal want to sell ozil and dont buy back cesc ? what the hell ….

  12. KickAssFan God bless you for your statement on ozil, dat “We must not give up on ozil just yet. let us judge him when he starts playing regularly in the middle”. In fact thats the truth if the whole thing. Ozil vs Aston Villa this season stands a clear revelation of how devastating he is as a CAM. Almighty silva of today did not in a twinkle of an eye become a hit in England.

    1. Ozil has been our top performer according to the stats squawka. And this is whilst apparently playing bad get of the lads back ffs

  13. I have quite a gut feeling, Mesut will never be sold.(Very very strong)
And even if he ever moves on, i will always associate him to the year we broke our throphy-drought.

  14. Also it wasn’t Schalke that backed out, it was Draxler who snubbed us(google Draxler interview The Guardian or i can give a link).

If he thinks we are not good enough, he may as well fcuk himself. Cause i know we have the best german number 10, and he sure ain’t that.
