Everton close gap but also help Arsenal with West Brom

Arsenal fans may not like the look of the Premier League table at the moment and we can only hope that is starts to look better rather than worse after the next round of EPL games set to be played this weekend. The fact that Everton won at home puts them just three points behind us, bringing up the unthinkable possibility that the in form Toffees could actually overtake us.

At least Manchester United did not get a chance to make up any ground on Arsenal, because they are now sat just one points behind us and so a win would have taken them above us in the table. At the minute, however, we have played the same number of games as Jose Mourinho’s side and we have a much better goal difference.

They also have the Europa League games to worry about and some injury problems on top of Ibrahimovic missing the next two league games so fingers crossed. Arsenal could really do with a win in the Premier League’s first match of the weekend, though, to stretch that gap between us and Everton, so maybe Ronald Koeman also did us a favour at the weekend by beating our next opponents West Brom and making it two defeats in a row for Tony Pulis and the Baggies.

So West Brom’s form and confidence has taken a hit while our second half display in the FA cup win over Lincoln has hopefully brought the flair and swagger back to Arsenal. So has Everton’s win over West Brom actually helped us to stay ahead of them and get back into the Champions League next year?

  1. remember when we used to call xhaxa xabi and when we used to call mustafi an invincible.
    HAha good old days.
But maybe if they try hard one day xhaxa can become as good as henderson and mustafi as good as gary cahill.World beaters!

    1. Who the fsck called Xhaka the new Xabi Alonso? Must be you buying into the hype and now you are pi$$ed on yourself for being such a fool.

  2. OT: Conte’s setup and. Chelsea’s midfield is just too good. It’s a shame they were not in the UCL in this season. Kante is the signing of the season among all major clubs. Did we have a chance to sign this guy?

      1. common guys… i also want wenger to leave at the end of the season but that doesn’t mean we can blame everything and anything on him… at the start of the season kante was just a one season player whereas xakha was the club captain at such a young age.. this one actually made sense

    1. Hopefully we meet chelski in the Fa cup…. Jeopardize our chances
      .
Then go on and miss out on the wenger trophy and the UCL
      ..
Oh but what does it matter, Mr potato head won’t change his mind about a contract extension…
      .
      What a Bug!!!

    2. I was thinking the same thing

I wanted Kante to join us really bad. Much more than Vardy or Mahrez.

We have needed a replacement for Vieira for over a decade but Wenger has consistently and stubbornly refused to get a quality defensive midfielder

Kante is fantastic at tackles and pass interceptions. A player in central midfield who can help the defence and regain the ball is what we desperately need. I don’t get Wenger’s mentality on this. It’s bizarre

You can’t win the PL without a top defensive midfielder and Coquelin has shown that he isn’t the answer either, nor is Eleny

If we had Kante and another Top forward, we would be playing for the Title right now. Even without a Top forward if Wenger had played Lucas more often I think we would be higher up.

      Wenger is clueless

      1. Le Coq was never the answer. if you go back while Fans were begging the old fool to buy a DM and he did not because he had Flamini and Arteta, it was then when once again we were plagued with injuries that he had no where to go, he brought Le Coq back from loan, back then he did a decent job but was evident that he was not the answer nor the quality player you need to win the League, bench player at best in any team with aspirations…..once again we need to count on other teams failings and we beating lesser teams such as WEST BROM ….on another note MANURE with 10 men gave some fight to CHELSKI….how much I hated Moaninho when he called WENGER the specialist of failure now how much I wish for him to be our Manager.

  3. Every team these days hit top form as soon as they meet Arsenal so Westbrom losing to Everton means nothing..

  4. Losers always focus on their own their opponents
Arsenal and the fans are losers
Chelsea were rubbish last season and at the change of a manager, they have turned Real Madrid.
Arsenal is afraid of change and so are stuck with a potato Head who plays the same kind of formation when we face Bayern or a non league side.

    We are doomed to mediocrity
    Wenger out !!!!

  5. Spurs were our only way through to final. Top 4 team means we a finished. Guess Wenger can’t fall back on that when he signs a new contract. Just admit you’re deluded instead.

    1. A game between Arsenal and Spuds are always open to any, but absolutely any, result. It is history, heritage and a lot of derby culture.
