Everton turn to Slimani after Wenger announces Giroud to stay at Arsenal

Most Arsenal fans thought that it would be odds on that Olivier Giroud would be leaving the Emirates after the arrival of his fellow Frenchman Alexandre Lacazette, and it was thought that Everton were the favourites to bring him in as a replacement for Romelu Lukaku.

But now Arsene Wenger has made it clear that Giroud will stay and fight for his place in the Gunners starting line-up. “Giroud fancies the competition. As a manager, you have him on your back, wanting to play,” the Arsenal boss said. “He fights hard, you know. I like the way he responds to what’s happening. He is focused and determined and showed that on this tour.”
in those appearances.
It now appears that Everton have turned their attention to Leicester’s Islam Slimani, who has not been the success that was expected at the ex-League Champions. In his first season at the club, Slimani made 23 League appearances for the Foxes scoring 7 goals, which is a marked downgrade on his previous form.

At Sporting Lisbon the year before he scored an amazing 27 times in 33 League games, and it would appear that the Algerian has simply not settled in Leicester. Perhaps Everton can coax him back to his old form but I am sure they would rather have got Giroud….

  1. I thought sanchez said sometimes ago dat he is waiting to see if wenger will comit his future before he signs

  2. Hey Resource.
Have Arsenal really signed Jadon Sancho from Man City?I want someone to confirm this for me.This guy is the next big thing of England football.

      1. He’s a winger. He has the potential to be one of the best ever players England have ever produced. He’s that good.He beats players for fun, scores lots and lots of goals and is very very skillful. In fact his main strength is dribbling. He wants to leave Man City becausr he doesn’t see a clear path to the first team with Arsenal,Tottenham,RB Salzburg and Dortmund all linked with moves for him. However,he’s friends with Reiss Nelson and the fact that Arsenal offrred more minutes to homegrown players than any other team might just give them the edge. But Resource is saying we’ve signed him which is what I want to know.
