Everyone knows Wenger is finished, but Arsenal won’t sack him!

The final nail in Wengers coffin lies just around the corner by Konstantin Mitov

The Europa League. Wengers saving grace! He always had one, whether it was the top 4 or the FA cup, he always managed to paper enough cracks to get a new deal, but now reality has finally caught up and we’re heading for a 5th straight defeat against Milan.

And while Wenger was speaking of turning things around, Josh Kroenke spoke about “victory through harmony” and “honest and open dialogue about reality”. It sounds like the end to me. Everything points at Wenger and the reason he won’t turn things around this time is quite simple. He doesn’t realise what the problem is, because the problem is he himself.

Ex players slate him, pundits slate him, the fans want him gone sooner rather than late and the players have given up on him for an entire calendar year and days counting. He’s been given two of the most prolific strikers in Europe and we’re struggling. He made our best player want to leave, by shunting him out the squad. His record against the top 6 speaks for itself and to be honest after 8 defeats in 2018 excuses have long dried up.

It’s a sad ending, but the saddest part is we’ll not sack him. Those talks of “honest/mature conversations” or whatever you wanna call it, suggest to me that people are afraid to sack Arsene, although they know it’s the right thing. We’ll let this season go to hell, because Wenger truly is everything here.

How do you think we’ll do at Milan? I think a 2:1 defeat would be a miracle! Honestly as much as I want to win this competition, I can’t stand more Wenger. It’s killing me, the lack of desire on the pitch. The empty stadium and the way our bench looks having zero ideas how to influence the game, while other top club managers are always on the touchline trying to improve.

I believe Milan will make easy work of us and then Arsene will say it’s a blip of bad form like it’s every other day. Over 10 years of pain are enough and I just want him sacked. He no longer deserves a good sending off. I’m prepared to suck the punch we’ll get tomorrow and that most likely will force people to take some action. It’s just sad that we’re throwing the Europa League away just because we don’t have the balls to do the right thing, but hey, as long as he’s gone next season, I’ll take it.

  1. Win or loss i think this should be the buss top for this great man. Arden Wenger is the most discussed person in the world right now, Abba when you are not a criminal. This is a club not a town so it can never be a monarch system of ruling.

    1. I thought Trump is the most discussed person in the world currently

We cannot throw Europa League away just because we want Wenger gone

We cannot lose before fighting AC Milan and I suspect Wenger already has a plan to maximize the physicalities of Welbeck, Ramsey, Bellerin, Kolasinac and Maitland-Niles

      1. You actually believe then that Wenger has a plan? Based on what previous evidence pray? The only plan Wenger ever has is to stay around like an unpleasant fart and continue ruining our club while “planning” to increase his bank balance every month.

        1. Wenger beat AC Milan ten years ago at San Siro when Gattuso played

He could see that footage again and figures out what he has been doing wrong for the last decade

      2. exactly…we cant throw Europa aways juz because of wenger

some of these are not genuine fans but juz want to attack the manager at every go which is very personal…

once wenger leaves…majority of them will disappear

        1. Are you the same guy predicting fa cup victory would be a springboard back to EPL and cl glory … I think you are … We are a mid table team playing mid table footie …,that’s where 10years of wenger induced decline with episodic cup runs ends up … True fans want that changed the rest is just waffle … Anyone insisting wenger staying put will do it needs to be hauled off to the rubber room …

          1. mid table team? FA cup victory?

            10 years ago thats 2008…..

did you actually analyse the game, follow the team or just follow the media?

            1. Unlike you my friend I think …. At least you can subtract I guess … Yes a decade … Getting to champions league final hinted at possibility we had reached european elite … The promise was the stadium would consolidate that place and move us ahead ..we then lost to man utd and barca at quarter stages and have since not only failed to challenge for cl or league but seen a steady and over last 5 years dramatic deterioration in quality of our football and ending up closer to burnley and Leicester than totenham and liverpool.. That is what I call mid table but 4th place junkies like yourself can’t see that which means that you don’t follow games, team or media just WENGER hence the endless nonesense you feel comfortable spewing out here

  2. As much as I wish someone would call time on Wenger, I simply cannot hope Arsenal lose in order expediate his exit. I understand the logic but I just can’t. Particularly when I see what joy an Arsenal win brings to my kids. Simpler times.

    1. Rising younger managers like Enrique, Guardiola and Pochettino benefited from their experience as first-team players for major European clubs, whereas Wenger and Mourinho were not successful as a player

But Rhino only played for the peak AC Milan, so I think Wenger has more knowledge in tactics. Wenger would have a good chance against Rhino’s AC Milan, due to his experience

      1. What tactics mate???
We play same old same old for ten years.
        More knowledge in tactics?
        Give me a break!

      2. no one remembers Enrique when hes at Roma…..

Guardiola? he got things done easy by joining clubs like City, Bayern and Barca……inherit a team or financially back

to build a team takes about 3 to 4 years on average…need a good scouting network, good system in place plus trial and errors on the players…some make it some don’t…

    2. No problem …. Wenger’s Arsenal are like lambs to the slaughter. If they get beat by BHA …. how will they fare against Milan ???

  3. Wenger should have been sacked already. The fact that he hasn’t been and kroenke is making bs statements tells me that nothing is going to change.
Harmony means keeping wenger and honest communication has never been a part of the kroenke culture…
As disheartening as it is, I am bracing for this evil man to be in charge for at least another year.

The day this greedy leach is gone, i’ll celebrate like no one else.

  4. Welcome to the Kronke money laundering scam. The more mediocre Arsene becomes (and let’s face it, he doesn’t need any help) – the more clean money Kronke has

  5. I think they are negotiating another contract extension, to give Arsene more time to rebuild and fix the problems.

    1. Yeah this could be true, fixing things that he’ve been fixing for the last 10 years. Dot know what’s so unfixable until wenger renews contract? It’s a repeat of previous failed season where the old man renews contract after failing so bad, guess this one is the most ugly one but we can do nothing, we are only fans who pay our money that pays everyone including the mighty Wenger and his average players, so we mean nothing much in the club, just financial contributors, we have no say whatsoever

    2. That’s why the empty seats and protests need to continue. It will get Wenger out faster and benefit every supporter of AFC in the long-run.

  6. I don’t know Wenger is finished you have no authority to speak for others,to know who is at fault at arsenal we need a taskforce that can investigate what happens behind the scenes a complete audit of the system starting from scouting, coaching, management of the players etc

    1. Hehehe he can speak for us, we irritated fans gave him the authority to speak for us. You want investigation while the whole world can see that Wenger, your master is completely finished and he can offer nothing in the footballing world? You want other people to be investigated as well? Try to see the reality mate and not your undying love for the pensionable old man

  7. wenger said after our fac win he believed we could win the epl – if there’s any substance to his continued guidance and expectation why are we being scalped by watford, stoke, brighton, swans, its pitiful we’re openly being accused of on the field cowardice – then in europe we get turned over by “Ostersunds” “Koln”- wenger tenure was a joy but has since become an annoyance. he should love the club enough to know its given him enough its time he gave somebody the room to grow like he was given that room to grow at first instance. it fills me with trepidation to know he’s still hanging on in there when he’s fooling nobody except himself – we got a drumming from notts forest for cryin out loud: enough is enough (imo).

  8. That is what some of us have being telling you for ages. It makes all yours and others article about getting Wenger out and all other people complaint waste of good time. Because all we do is to constantly attacking the coach and complain to one another instead attaching Stan.

  9. Meanwhile spurs are 45 minutes away from QF’s and outplaying Juventus. Whats the excuse for Wenger’s European failures again?

      1. it’s embarrassing. We’ve wasted so much time entertaining Wenger’s delusions. Remember when people used to shout “but if we replace him who out there is better! Just Pep!” Those were the days…

    1. Well what do you know, spur is now trailing. It is now juve 2 to spurs 1. If they don’t come out good from this it will affect then in league.

  10. Weak 88% of 450 supporters canvassed want him gone.
My approach would be “Arsene you need to leave and we think it’s best you resign for dignity but if you won’t well be forced to make the decision for you”
What worries me is they have jo clue who to appoint, how to appoint etc etc. It’s better now Mislintat et all are on board but still.
I see Manuel Pellegrini is being talked about today. His personality is very Wenger like!

Ot it makes me sick to the core seeing spurs go ahead against juve and all the spurs fans getting all above themselves on social media and bbc website. Flicking quickly back over to the city game.
Ps Google GQ arsenal arsene articles. I stumbled on some interesting reads today.

  11. i wonder what Konstantin is doing in real life?are you at least good at it?Wenger, despite this bad spell, has earned himself respect in world football and made this club a far greater club than when he first arrived

    1. Arsenal is ,according to Forbes,is three time a more valuable club than AC Milan and it’s down to whom? The holly spirit?if not for Wenger?,Food for thinking…

      1. Pires, please explain how the value of Arsenal is due to Arsene Wenger?
The value of Arsenal FC is due to the broadcast money poured into the EPL, gate receipts and advertising contracts. The latter two may be tarnished by poor on field performance diminishing the Arsenal brand.

      2. Do you know anything about the history of Arsenal Football Club. In 1934 England, with seven Arsenal players, played the Italian National side that had just won the World Cup and beat them 3-2 in a game that became known as the “Battle of Highbury”, for the sheer veracity that the game was played at and because of England’s refusal to play in the ’34 World Cup with the attitude of “If you wan’t a World Cup then you have to come here” was looked upon as the unofficial World Cup Final. At the time Arsenal were regarded as the best club side in the World, and if the European Cup had been around then, it’s almost certain we’d have quite a few to our name possibly even rivalling Real Madrid. Pires, I know you’re new to the game but believe me Arsene Wenger did not make Arsenal a big club. Arsenal became a big club when Herbert Chapman took over in 1925 and completely revolutionised the club. That’s why he’s bust still occupies the main entrance to the ground. What you should have said is Arsenal Football Club made Arsene Wenger a household name.

  12. Allegri master tactician switching it up at half time with immediate success. I like this guy think he ticks a lot of boxes for us of he’d come.

  13. A typical Arsenal under Wenger would be a solid performance in Milan and then a 4-1 drubbing at home.

I think it will be tight but right now I’d have to say Milan should be favored.

    1. its gonna be tough at san siro…

we are low in confidence and morale……

we had just played 4 games in 10 days and now game 5 in 14 days…..compared to Milan who has 7 days rest after their game on Sunday was postponed….

we are going to have a problem scoring with Lacazette and Auyubameyang out….in addition to Monreal and Bellerin

  14. Yes although not good for arsenal let’s sell our rb cover and use chambers yes? Great!
And debuchy although in a much weaker league is also having the ox experience and playing out of skin for St ettienne and even scoring goals.
No quality dm player let’s also sell coquelin who did a focused job even if there are many better.
We could do with a cb ah we sold Gabriel.
And as for a plan b well that was giroud, or maybe a winger in Campbell, or a creative pacey striker in perez all players that failed under Wenger but doing okay or great no they’ve moved on.
Mistake after mistake here from the man who used to have a back of selling players just before they go over their prime.
There really is a poisonous/toxic curse at arsenal that effects so many players.

  15. Thought sp×ds were going to win the champions league? ?. Thank you Max and Juv for for putting a smile on my face. SHAME ARSENAL CAN’T DO THAT FOR ME!

  16. media will be very quiet on spud and city losses

if its Arsenal….it will be front page…constant wacking and making up rumours

after our lost against milan tomorrow…media will go beast mode and attack

    1. why would anyone bring up City loss. They walked into the next round and didn’t even need to show up today? And Arsenal get slated about Europe more because we’re supposed to be a bigger club and have higher expectations. Spurs are just happy to be there and get a group stage win against Madrid. If United get knocked out this round the media will be going after them because, again, high expectations.

  17. You don’t sack a CEO when the business increses its revenue each year. Arsenal fc is foremost a business in the eyes of kronke, that is performing well. Results on the pitch have had no detrimental on the bottom line. Therefore the board has no reason to risk the business model by replacing Wenger. I fear that Wenger will have to leave on his on accord, and the next manager in will be shackled by financial constraints in modifying the squad.

    1. Furthermore its a rather short sighted business model. To grow a football business is to grow the fan base and you cannot grow a fan base without winning trophies and competing in the best leagues.

    2. Do they realize at all that the business of football is judged by the number of trophies they win and not by how much cash they got? In marketing, someone had to love your brand to convince them to buy your product. Can this latest ”Brand” of Arsenal convince any football loving being to stick with arsenal fc? Time shall come when the money will stop rolling in because the ”sweet football” for which arsenal is known for is no longer there.

  18. I would like to see some top coaches come to Arsenal, ready for the next manager.
It’ll be nice if we can keep developing some of the top talents we have. GK come to us with promise and then falter, look at Szcz… I was wishing he would be coming back to us but bahhh… now we need a top GK.

K, as you like anti Wenger articles, how about doing one about the players and who could be saved if we hired the right coaches… I have read people moan about Ozil yet I also read how professionals respect him, I personally think the current tactics doesn’t get the best out of him like they don’t get the best out of Xhaka…

Do people think we need a whole new team with a new manager?
What players would people keep? Who do they think isn’t good enough even if their potential could be reached?

    1. the same with Giroud….u need different tactics for him as well

how useful he would be if he was with us…Giroud coming on as plan B….moving Aubayemang to the left or right wings…

Giroud could hold up and lay off for Auba or the players could cross the ball for him to head….

      but chelsea spoilt it all….

      1. I agree. Giroud was the perfect SuperSub. Im not saying that i wish we didn’t have Lacazette. I like Lacazette but Giroud has tons of PL experience and excellent hold up play.

Even as a main striker he wasn’t terrible. He scored 105 goals for us and two 16 PL goal seasons. Not great by any means but quite decent.
Unfortunately the year we ended 2nd place to Leicester was the same year he went on a 15 match non-scoring streak. So Im happy we have Aubameyang because he is a better striker but still miss Giroud because he is awesome to have off the bench. Much better than Welbeck anyway

  19. If losing against AC Milan means that Wenger leaves,I wish AC Milan the best of luck.

  20. These guys writing the articles for papers are bunch of knobs. Today I’m reading how Arsenal players are furious with Wenger for selling Alexis to utd. It was only the turn of the year there they were saying the complete opposite. They said Arsenal players are falling out with Alexis and they want him gone, they’ve been saying it for over a year and even had allot of us believing it. I now think Welbeck was shooting straight when he said first I’ve heard about any team conflict, we are down yes and want to improve but I don’t know where they got that story ..was the gist. Seriously though, they just throw anything out there and many fans take them at their word, who the fu*k do they think they are, one minute they hate Alexis next minute they hate Wenger for selling him. We had little choice in the matter for crying out loud, and this silly journo probably wrote how we done excellent work in the window considering. @Mirror sport, sack that clown never mind Arsene.

  21. @Break, that is Agenda setting of the media. Media can not tell you what to think but will tell you what to think about.

  22. You were spot on in your assertions. Wenger is gone and finished, only the old damned board members and Wenger himself don’t know it. I pity us the fans of this once great club and probably Josh Kroenke, who seems a smart guy with that ” Victory through harmony” and honest and open dialogue about reality” sermon. Could he have been the only one seeing what the other board members are not seeing? It beats me! For crying out loud, the fear of Arsene Wenger has dragged Arsenal fc several years backwards and would do some more irredeemable damage if they fail to sack him this summer. Even the ”Beautiful” football arsenal was known for has gone. The fan base is depreciating. The club has lost value, just about everything positive about arsenal is gone – Arsene has ruined everything. Maybe I would have to be reminded one thing Arsene Wenger is good at these days other than failures and shamelessness. How could the board members allow this great club diminish so low all in the name of policy. To imagine the damage the greed and ego of a single individual has done to our darling club is hard to comprehend. The time is now to get Arsene fixed to fix Arsenal.

  23. I think you are expecting new manager this week who would do some magic within Monday to Thursday. If not so then there is no point of such kind of article. All it does is provoke fans that have now set up mind for the next season without Wenger.

  24. yes wenger has done great things for our club, yes he had a couple of trophies for us ,yes he had assembled the invincible team.i dont deny him none of that but then again we got to move on accomplish bigger things in club football. some fans here act as though we are to worship him.a disgrace to have such fans among us tbh
