FA cup is massive for Arsenal says Wenger and Szczesny

There will be no resting players or concentrating on the next game for Arsenal today. Arsene Wenger and the Arsenal players are treating the FA cup tie at Swansea today with the utmost importance. Wenger has realised that, if he wants this current team to achieve it’s potential, the Gunners must win a trophy. Le Prof has been thinking about the invincible team and what made them so special.

“There’s an aura around a team that is built through the history of the team.

“That makes them feel strong together. It’s an energy that builds up inside the team that you sense. That is linked with the success that the team has achieved.

“It’s the same the other way round. You only achieve if you really believe. It’s always a vicious circle.

“I believe the fact that you can be consistent improves the confidence. After, it’s about the trophy.”

Wenger has faith in his players and the team, and they do look brilliant sometimes. It is just the fragility of the confidence that is really hurting us. Wenger has rebuilt teams before, but there were always a few players that had tasted success left. The current team has nobody who has won a medal with Arsenal, so when we have a bad game or are not playing so well, the confidence seeps away.

Szczesny feels that the belief is coming, and we are in much better shape now than we were when Swansea came to the Emirates a month ago. That game shook the players up and they have knuckled down and stuck together since. Some great play and good results have boosted the spirit in the squad, but they are all desperate to progress in the cup, and to finally pick up some silverware.

“We have worked very hard for each other, we’ve stayed together and that’s why we’ve turned things around.

“We have recovered very well and the results have shown the massive improvement that we’ve made. We’ll be going much more confident than we were before the previous game.

“It’s massive. Everyone realises how big a competition it is. It’s just as big as the Premier leaguew for us. We want to take our chances of getting as far as we can.

“There’s always a special atmosphere when you play in the FA cup. We know how much it means and we want to win the trophy.”

Wenger says it’s massive so he needs to prove it and put a
    full strength team out.

Mr.Wenger, according to him, is part of all decisions related to transfers and pay structures at the club. He has to take all the responsibility for the club’s failurity and success in the past eight years.

I can see what he’s doing. Wenger is counting on winning today and steering the team successfully through January so that he can say the squad is good enough and he doesn’t need to sign anyone. How many times has he let decent players get away. He should have bought Ba, instead he goes to Chelsea and scores 2 goals on his debut. We need three top players but he doesn’t want to spend. He doesn’t seem to see that this team isn’t good enough, too many poor performances. The only way he’s going to wake up is if Arsenal lose today and next week against Man City.

WHERE IS THE ARTICLE WHERE HE SAID HE MUST LET HIS GOOD PLAYERS GO IN ORDER TO MAKE PROFIT?
I LOST RESPECT TO WENGER AFTER THAT COMMENT. WHEN HE SAID THEY WILL NEVER CHANGE THEIR WAGE THING, THEN YOU WONDER WHY DID WENGER SAY LAST 2 YEARS THAT WHEN THEY GET A BETTER SPONSERSHIP THEY WILL CHANGE THE WAGE SYSTEM. WE ARE GETTING 25 MIL / YEAR, WHICH IS 20 MIL MORE THAN LAST YEAR FROM OUR KIT, SOON WILL THEY HAVE 25 A YEAR FROM NIKE OR ADIDAS.
WHY WOULD YOU LET YOUR BEST PLAYERS GO? HE SAID HE WILL NOT CHANGE THE SYSTEM, AND THAT HE MUST LET GOOD PLAYER GO TO BRING A NEW PLAYER. IS THIS HOW YOU BUILD A CHAMPION TEAM? NO.

SORRY BUT YOU CAN READ WHAT HE SAID IN ESPN.
HE SAID HE MUST FOLLOW THAT SYSTEM TO MAKE PROFIT AND THEY WILL NEVER CHANGE THE SYSTEM.

TAKE A LOOK THE DEFERENCE OF TOILETHAMP AND ARSENAL
LOOK AT THEIR SQUAD OF 2004 AND OURS AND SEE AT THEIRS AND OURS SQUAD AT THIS TIME, MMHM HOW MANY TOP PLAYERS DO THEY HAVE, DID YOU SEE THE BIG CHANGE? YES IT IS CALLED AMBITION, THEY ARE BUYING BIG PLAYERS AND IF THEY SELL ONE, THEY MAKE SURE THEY REPLACE THE PLAYER.
IT IS DEFERENT STORY AT OUR BELOVED ARSENAL, WHERE THE BOARD SEE MONEY MORE THAN FOOTBALL

May be if you had kept some of the players with aura & replaced others with aura than the team would still have that aura!!!

    Now buy some with aura!

    @ sheggs is that true?
zaha is also on his way to toiletham or united.

I don’t see us signing Villa, It is better if we expect 0 signing then if we get 1 we will be surprised.
I thought wenger said he will have bussy January in the market, but yesterday he said he must sell 1 good player to buy other good player.
it is sad, the best way we can have good signing is if we lose today. Then you will see 4 or 5 players comming, just like last season, when we lost 8-2, he signed 5 players but before that he never wanted to buy 1.
I don’t see us winning this throphy, so it is better we go out sooner than later.

I want Arsenal to win against the Swans but if we win handsomely i am terrified that Wenger will see no need to strengthen…knowing Wenger i will not put that beyond him.

    @ caribgooner.
i want Arsenal to win, all Arsenal want them to win too
but if we win we will never sign any player. If we lose we will sign players. remember after the 8-2, wenger signed 5 players but before that game he said he will sign a player if found a top top top player. so if we lose tomorrow or today afternoon he will sign a player, if we win, wait until we lose another game.

If wenger isnt signing anybody he is blind and al liar. He is always talking the same (shit).
    - We will buy thats for sure,
    - then he says we will try to bring some players,
    - then he says we only buy when there are exeptional players available
    - and when the transferwindow ends he will say: Rosicky,Diaby and Walcott are like new signings.
    - We will spend the money in the summer there are more players available then.

We need a Defender (CB+LB can play), CDM and Arda/Ben Arfa/Isco

I’m sick of all the talking, Wenger is under no pressure to sign, becoz, whether we finish 4th or 14th, Wenger will still call the shots. Why don’t we just change our name from to Arsenal to Arsene FC, complacency is the road to decline.

gunners, you have to read this, it’s a bit long but it will be worth it. it gives the answer to the question we have been asking for years now.THE WAGE STRUCTURE.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has lifted the lid on the club’s contentious transfer policy and revealed the remarkable power he wields at the club.
There has long been conjecture over Wenger’s involvement in the financial structure of Arsenal, but the Frenchman has confirmed he will be fully involved in transfer negotiations during the January window.
While the likes of Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez and Manchester City’s Roberto Mancini have a limited role to play when players and their agents sit down to thrash out contracts and pay packets, Wenger has confirmed he is involved in every deal at Arsenal.
“I don’t know how it works at other clubs, but the wages at Arsenal are decided in consultation between me and the board,” Wenger said. “There is an amount of money that is dedicated to the wages every year. Within that budget, we try to come up with payments that are sensible and defensible.
“As long as the economical balance within a club is respected and you pay the people with the resources that make economical sense, then it is fine. If I want to pay a player a little more than the budget, then I ask for the authorisation from the board.
“The setup we have means sometimes you have to let one player go to make space for someone coming as the squad is limited and sometimes you need to knock out some good players to make room for others.”
Wenger went on to reveal his wages policy is different to many of his Premier League rivals, with the Arsenal boss confirming there is a balance within his squad that ensures none of his players are paid vastly more than their team-mates. While some of Manchester City’s stars may be pocketing more than £200,000 every week, Wenger insists on following different rules.
Samir Nasri and Robin van Persie are among the big names who have walked away from Arsenal after Wenger and his board refused to shatter their wage structure to satisfy the demands of their stars and, while the same scenario may not be true when it comes to making a final offer to current contract rebel Theo Walcott, Wenger is unrepentant.
“People neglect the reality that Arsenal pays very well and all my life I defend to pay well people who work for us,” he said. “If I believe we can afford to do it, we do it, that is the policy. Do we change? No.
“What we do not do is pay one player £200,000-a-week. We have kept it closer for all the players, so I guess you can say we have a socialist model and maybe this makes us more vulnerable (to losing players or failing to make star signings).
“We have kept to a structure that makes sense when it comes to dealing with every single player. We make exceptions, sometimes, but those exceptions are not too often. If we want to continue to make a profit, we have to respect our structure.”
Wenger’s comments crystallise the debate over who is pulling the strings at Arsenal, with the club’s manager clearly as much a part of the club’s transfer decision-making as any member of the Gunners’ much-maligned board.
The loan moves of high earners Marouane Chamakh, Johan Djourou and the imminent departure of Sebastien Squillaci should create space in the budget for the arrival of a big name in the January transfer window, with Barcelona’s David Villa and Atletico Madrid’s Adrian Lopez continuing to be linked with a move to Arsenal.

its a shame that the board was refusing to give persie that 110k a weak and then sell him to united where he earns 2OOK A WEAK…..that can tell you how inferior arsenal are with respect to manu……
oh by the way sneider and spurs have agreed terms….
and one more thing ……sneider was offered to arsenal but te board rejects him due to his 200k a weak…..HOW THE HELL COULD ARSENAL BE A BIG CLUB AGAIN WITH THIS WAGE SYSTEM

if we get m’biwa, yann m’villa, villa and zaha we are fine even if they sign ronaldo and messi, but signing none is stupid
