Fabulous February can secure EPL title for Arsenal

Well the month of January was just about as bad for Arsenal as we feared and a lot worse than I for one expected. It could have been worse for Arsenal though, because at least our rivals dropped some points as well and that leaves things very tight at the top.

Because Man City were held at home to Everton and away to West Ham, while Leicester City drew with Aston Villa and Bournemouth, the top four clubs are separated by just five points and so any and all of them are in with a good chance.

The upcoming month of February could therefore be crucial and there is nothing to suggest that Arsenal cannot come out of it in control of the title race. To be honest I think we have to, and that means that the Gunners need to win at least three of the four league games and preferably all of them.

It is not an easy February fixture list, with Southampton at home, Bournemouth away, Leicester at home and finally a trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United, but if Arsenal play anything like our top level we could easily take maximum points and so getting the likes of Ozil and Alexis Sanchez this weekend was a big plus point and the return to full training of Francis Coquelin is another massive boost.

Man City have Sunderland away, Leicester and Tottenham at home and Newcastle away. Leicester have Liverpool at home, Man City and Arsenal away and then Norwich at home. The spuds have Norwich away, Watford at home, Man City away and Swansea at home.

It looks like being an interesting and pivotal month but will Arsenal be able to make it a perfect one and will that help to secure the title?

  1. Assumptions, assumptions… I’m not being hopeful until we show the ability to match the likes of Barca in the CL

    1. We will never match Barca in the CL these teams including Bayern and Real Madrid are streets ahead of Arsenal on the football pitch, our world class stars in Ozil and Sanchez are players that were not wanted by Madrid and Barca respectively!

      1. Yea and thats why we beat bayern 2-0. Stop moaning like a milf getting one in ages. Look at the bright side ffs. Yesterday was just a one of game because we played with 10 men.

        1. We played with 10 men against an improving chelsea side and only conceeded one goal.
        2. We are only 3 points away from leaders whilst our squad being depleted.
        3. We have easy home games coming up except leicester.
        4. Many players are coming back including Coquelin
        5. Gabriel will play with koscielny for the next 3 games.
        6. ALEXIS SANCHEZ!

        1. Yeah and we lost 5-1 in Germany that’s an aggregate score of 5-3 over two legs,we’ll probably beat Barca at The Emirates with a close score line then lose heavily at The Nou Camp that’s what we always do!

          1. Spot on mate! ?

But For us to have any chance of getting past Barcelona,
We need to beat them by at least 3 clear goals at the Emirates and then park 3 buses at the Nou Camp.

Wenger is only shrewd when it comes to Spending money and decepting the fan’s with sugar coated bull ? excuses!

We all know that he likes to send on his defencive players in the last 10 – 15 minutes if we are winning by a single goal but against teams like Barcelona, he really needs to do the opposite, by starting the games with all our defensive players and then bringing on our attackers in the last 10 – 15 minutes and catch them on the break when Barcelona get tired.

A simple solution that works 80% of the time!
Just look at the mickey mouse Spanish teams who have drawn or beaten the likes of Real & Barca.

  2. Only and ONLY if we start playing on our level again. That being said, some certain players cannot start a match for Arsenal if they are under-performing like they have been recently.

    ——– Ospina
    Bellerin – Chambers – Gabriel – Gibbs
    ——– Elneny – Ramsey
    —–Campbell – Özil – Iwobi
    ———- Walcott/Giroud

For Burnley. This match is not to be taken lightly, few changes. Let Gabriel and Elneny integrate to the starting XI, we need them both after Mertesacker horrorshow.

  3. Hahaha.
I feel that we will improve after we get knocked out of the FA cup by Burnley and suffer another defeat from Southampton, thanks to their New Bionic man, Steve Austin who didn’t cost 6 billion dollars, man! ???

Akpom may have a point to prove, when he comes back to haunt the Emirates with Bournemouth..
but I think that we will start our winning run with this game,
Obviously,we may have a stutter or two before finishing the season in excellent form, as we normally do, but will that be enough to actually win the league? …. I doubt it

    1. Why negative thoughts on the match against Chelski… It’s just psychological advantage chelski has on us. But I would be positive seeing the fixtures in Feb. I still feel we can take advantage. I expect slip up from Mancity and leicester City.. But Spuds have real advantage… I dont see they gonno drop points. So I am expecting both North London Rivals for EPl championship.. I still feel Walcott and Ox dont have ability to take pressure in big games especially tense games. I am feeling sad of atleast not getting a point against Chelski. But anyways we will have last laugh hopefully. Gunner forever.

  4. It is hard to believe it, but the first chance to catch the title belongs to Tottenham. We are doing math operations between us,,Leicester and City, but guess what?Almost without making a sound,Spurs are just banging in the 1st place door. Not being enough for them to have the easiest fixtured, they are really in great form, able to beat any team ,away or home.Be aware, this is where the real danger is coming from.

    1. As much as it pains me to say it but I’ve been really impressed with them and there doing it with such a YOUNG team. I think if Kane’s goals dry up they will fade away cause they don’t really have other goal scorers but until then kudos spuds kudos

  5. when you see gabriel and elneny on the bench you know someone is a specialist in failure especially when playing against a team with so much quality in midfield. Imagine creating holes for a snake in the midfield! A field day..

    1. Elneny would have been very risky to start against Chelsea and after the red it was gonna be even more difficult to play him when the circumstances called for forwards

      1. He is more box-to-box than Flamini who had a stinker IMO. Being 1-0 down we had nothing to lose. I would have liked to see him get some time at the expense of Flamini.

  6. That can be achieved only if Wenger stop playing Mertesacker and Flamini….. The presence of those useless liabilities will cost us this League title.

  7. Also If Santi was fit ..there will be no place in the starting XI for Ramsey..nor walcot..Instead Santi and El – Neny then Ozil-sanchez and Campbell..Still insisting we should have a 20 plus goals WC ST to lead the attack with OG on the bench. whatever the calendar is we know that we are not consistent so just go with the flow and wait and see..SPUDS fixtures are easier than us but they are playing well so is Leicester.

  8. We are not playing well enough and we are not consistent enough to give me hope we will play to our potential in all 5 games.

The only thing that can save our title challenge IMO is Sanchez finding last seasons form and staying fit. We need his individual brilliance since our collective effort is simply not impressive or consistent enough.

  9. I think the annoyed Arsenal fans need to have calmed down by now after our initial anger that followed our disappointing home lose against Chelsea. I think it’s time we get up from our falls and stop our lamentations on this our failures. Mertesacker had to make that tackle on Coster which he correctly did. He can’t just watch Costa to continue raising towards goal without doing any defensive work on him, can he? Koscielny was a distance off. So, Mert had to tackle. And his tackle was excellent. But Mr Clantenburg was harsh to have red carded Meet. It should have been a yellow if at all he must card.

What I think the Gunners must do, is to learn from the misshapenning they’d’ suffered in this game. And guide against a reoccurrence of such in their remaining games in all competitions. More especially, the Gunners MUST learn to play to win a game in which they are 1 man down. I think the Boss should make them to practice that in their training exercise.

It’s now down to 89 points maximum we can get if we win our remaining 15 Barclays Premier League games. And I believe it’s not impossible for the Gunners to win those 15 games to finish on a high at the end of this season. The Gunners should start that journey by beating the improving Southampton’s team at the Ems after they have unfailingly dealt Burnley a scapegoat blow in FA Cup.
