Fit and focused Ozil to help Arsenal beat Man City and finish in top 4?

The Arsenal and Germany international star may not have been in the best form of his life before illness and injury problems kept him out of action for the past month or so, but there is no doubt that Mesut Ozil can be a massive player for Arsenal, perhaps even more so than Alexis Sanchez when he is on song.

The German playmaker can be the heartbeat of our attacking play and it could be any one of a number of players who provides the finishing touch to o0ne of his pieces of creative genius and we could certainly do with as much of that as possible when Pep Guardiola and the Man City players arrive at the Emirates stadium tomorrow.

So the pre-match words of Arsene Wenger on Ozil reported by the Arsenal website ahead of the big match are very encouraging indeed, because the Frenchman suggested that his number 11 is fired up and ready for tomorrow and has been looking his old self in training again.

The boss said, β€œHe is in contention to start again. He played 20 minutes with Germany in Azerbaijan and he came back focused and worked very hard this week.”

It remains to be seen if Wenger is right about the player but if he is it should not only be good news for tomorrow but for the rest of the season. And if Ozil is determined to show his class and help Arsenal to end the season strongly then it also tells me that Mesut is going to stay with Arsenal.

Do you think Arsenal will see the best of our mercurial midfield star tomorrow?

  1. Dunno.
    I hope so.
It seems such a long time since
our last game and even longer since Ozil played.
Feels like the beginning of a new season.
To me its seems like a 10/11 game mini League play off
between 5 teams trying for 3 remaining ECL places.
Managers and players reputation on the line.
Champions League or Thursday night footy?
Lets get ready to rumble…or crumble πŸ™‚

    1. You are not alone mate, gave up watching Arsenal games when we started getting ripped a new one by pretty much every half decent team that came our way. I don’t even know what to hope or pray for at this point..I just want the season to be over and Wenger to go to hell.

      1. I want any result that will help rid Arsenal of that leech Arsene. Such a result would be in the best interests of the club. It is time to put the club first. Kroenke is only a caretaker, and a pretty poor one at that.
