Fixture nightmare means Arsenal MUST avoid FA cup replay

If Arsenal find ourselves coming towards the end of the FA cup quarter-final at Old Trafford tonight and losing by a single goal, then of course we will all be hoping for a late equaliser that would keep us in the cup. But Arsene Wenger must be hoping and praying that his Gunners team can get the job done at the first opportunity.

Because once again there seems to be no thought to the clubs involved when it comes to arranging the replays. After Bradford and Reading drew on Saturday, Liverpool could only manage a goalless draw with Blackburn at Anfield yesterday.

The timing of the replays is like a bad joke, with the two lower league clubs facing a cup replay just two days after their respective league fixtures this weekend. Harsh does not cover it. Liverpool, meanwhile, will have to wait almost a month before travelling to Ewood Park, with an international break to come before their replay.

I suspect it would be the same for Arsenal although you can never be sure what the FA will come up with next. As it stands, Liverpool´s replay will come a few days after they come to the Emirates in the league. If Arsenal have no cup game to consider that could be a big advantage for us as well.

So come on Arsenal, no messing about, get this tie won tonight!

    1. @Hafiz
Aint you the guy that gave the prediction QPR 2 – Arsenal 1.
      Sum Arsenal supporter………………

  1. A win today will be my favorite of the season so far. Manure fans around me are very annoying. #COYG

  2. guess any1 would take a replay no matter when it is, to a loss to Manure…so that wont be such a bad thing afteroll…
So hope our guys can show up tonight, cos need to give MU sumthing to think bout for the league match there later on.

  3. I don’t blame Hafiz on this, coz our record against them shows that, even though I only remember our final against them in 2005.

  4. A pointless article about something not happened yet (the game itself) and a decision not taken yet (an eventual replay). Really informative and full of substance.

  5. I usually am very pessimistic with regards to playing Man Utd but i can’t see us not winning tonight. Not even a draw seems likely. Wenger will have our players fired right up for this one (the seemingly only realistic trophy for this season). We are due a game where our firepower blasts the opposition away and i reckon tonight will be the night. 3-1 Arsenal. I do so hope they play a back 3 lmao.

  6. 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015…..

    same shit same excuses…..

    time to move on…

    time for a change….

    Wenger out!

    1. There’s no wonder that with supporters like you there is actually no support when needed. Ffs, the game wasn’t even started and you fire the manager. Bunch of wan kers.

  7. I say yes!

  8. Truthfully, all things considered – I’d take a replay now and worry about the consequences later.

  9. its wengers tactics, subs timing and players selection that will potentially kill.the game and alllow utd to win

  10. Not really anything to do with the FA, it is FIFA’s / EUFA’s rules that our domestic matches cannot clash with any other Champ League, Europa League and International break.
