Forget Giroud – Arsenal’s injury list is looking great ahead of Tottenham clash!

Olivier Giroud became France’s 7th All-Time Top Scorer when he netted in a friendly against Wales last week, but he was actually playing with an injury (silly boy) and had to be taken off and sent back to Arsenal for treatment. Ironically the Welshman Aaron Ramsey has also been sidelined with a calf injury, but both of them are not looking too serious and will probably be fit to face Tottenham next weekend.

To be honest it was unlikely that Giroud would have played anyway, especially as we have the good news of Danny Welbeck returning to the fold. Danny started the season in blistering form before he got his usual injury, but hopefully he will hit the ground running again on his return to the First Team although Wenger is unlikely to play him from the start against Spurs.

Even better news for Arsene Wenger is the news that both Shkrodan Mustafi and Calum Chambers will be back to give Le Prof some much-needed options in defence. That is where our big problems have been all this season as we have been conceding goals all over the place and we are desperate for some pace back in the back line.

There have been some murmurs about Petr Cech’s performances this year which could be a major factor in our leaking goals, so we will all be happy to know that David Ospina is also back in contention. Maybe Wenger ought to consider using the Colombian a bit more often now as Cech is getting on in years…

So if Giroud and Ramsey are just minor problems there is a real chance that Wenger could have his completely full EPL squad to choose from at the Emirates next Saturday. You could say we are still missing Santi Cazorla but as the little Spaniard is not even in this season’s official squad, he wouldn’t be playing even if he had a miraculous recovery.

So surely this is all good news for us all?

  1. even as our injury list is better it is no secret that we are still 6th best in the league.
watford and west brom are beginning to match us

  2. I’m nervous of the Spurs game – hate to admit it but they are a proper good team

    Pray for great Arsenal win

  3. I can’t say i’m feeling alot better about the update to be honest. Ramsey is hit and miss with performances and Giroud is isolated too much.

Looks like much of the same then?

    Onward and downward..

  4. i dnt see any reason to be afraid of spurs. Its xi Vs xi. Lets split their bowels in 2 and ve our stadium filled with their worthless guts. Lets go gunnerz!!!

    1. spurs have a 10x better defence
      2x the midfield
      15x the attack.
We should not only be worried but petrified by them.
They can slaughter this sorry team beyond any imagination
I feel they are gonna win 3 0 cone saturday

      1. Remind me again how many points Spurs have. What’s all the nonsense hype about Spurs? Spurs have only played 3 big games (Chelsea and Liverpool home and Manchester United away) lost 2 one of which was a home game and won 1. All the big games Arsenal has played (Liverpool, Chelsea and City) were away games losing 2 and drawing one. Looking at the above you can say that Spurs are so great in big games just like Arsenal.
