FULL Arsenal injury update – Good news all round!

We are now only six days away from Arsenal’s next game against Stoke at the Emirates, but we have had some great news on the injury front. To be honest I thought that Aaron Ramsey would be out for much longer after he was excluded from the Wales squad and we were told that he was having a ‘minor operation’ on his knee, but amazingly he was back in training today. Hooray!

Also in the training session was Nacho Monreal, who has not played since we lost to Man City, so it looks like he is going to be fit enough for next week’s match.

But the best news is that Alexander Lacazette is back in business and we can have more hope of progressing even further in the Europa Leage if he actually comes back to form despite not scoring in his last ten games. Hopefully it will be because the injury was holding him back…

Also Hector Bellerin is back to full fitness and he was very happy to see Lacazette around as well….

There is more good news in the fact that Shkrodan Mustafi was also at the training session so would hopefully be ready for the weekend, so basically the only player that we can say is not available for next weeks game is Santi Cazorla but there is nothing we can do about that….

  1. Since Lacazette is coming back, I hope Arsenal can play either Lacazette or Aubameyang as a winger, so they can play together

Because both have good quality to surprise the opponents from the wings and Arsenal lack penetrations from the sides

Otherwise Arsenal had better use Maitland-Niles and Nelson as wingers more often. It would be bad to lose them because of the lack of the game time

    1. That’s exactly what I’m thinking. What formation would you choose? And which one of Aubameyang or Lacazette would you put on the wing? ?

    2. I reckon Lacazette is more suited for a wide role but believe he would tire of it very quickly. He’s a striker, his best quality is his sharp shooting, that header in the beginning of season is what Lacazette is all about, tucking a ball away nicely, with minimum fuss. I honestly believe it would be smarter to move or drop one of Mkhit Ozil and play Lacazette behind Aubameyang ..or to right/left of one another up top. Than to send him out wide because we could end up taking away the players instincts or destroy his confidence so much that we find it hard to get the money paid returned.

Thing is there is also some difficulties with CM players too, right now we can play a three and are looking doable but not sure if Mkhit or Ozil would be wise in taking a spot away from a Brit, it suits them (Brits) in the three but doubtful it would suit a last third play-maker.

  2. Lacazette IS NOT A WINGER.Abuamyang IS NOT A WINGER.They are BOTH STRIKERS.Therefore PLAY THEM AS STRIKERS.

      1. Why is it not important NOW?It is The TODAY that matters NOT TOMORROW.Wenger has for years played many players out of their natural position to the final detriment of both the team and the player. Was Lacazette bought as a WINGER?NO.Was Aubamyang bought as a WINGER?NO.So don’t play them as wingers.
Devise and develop a system to make it work-that is what good coaches are there for. When Henry was brought to Arsenal in the Early 2000’s (which to be fair was probably about 15 years before you were born) he was being played as a RWB at Juventus. Can you believe that.He played wide here for the early part of his Arsenal career before Wenger moulder him into one of the Worlds Top Strikers and arguably the best ever player in the Premiership (although it was always Bergkamp for me and the Pony Tailed Hearthrob Petit for Sue). That is what Wenger BACK IN THE DAY.
He has proved over the last decade he is incapable of doing anything close to being ground breaking or revolutionary other than persisting in his outdated and prehistoric ideas that are now so predictable we have become cannon fodder for all the teams fighting relegation.
FFS WENGER-In your (Please God) final days and weeks of you’re managing this club could we at least ask you to do exactly that-MANAGE THE CLUB AND DO YOUR JOB

          1. I am having a word with Dr. Phil. He should leave you alone as it seems that things are getting out of controll here. #Pireslifesmater.#PrayforWenger#Oldfartunited#flatearhtis true.

        1. Abusive comments should be deleted/or firstly reviewed by the Admin…but some facts can sound harsh and insulting because there’s no other way to express them.

    1. Two strikers playing together could struggle if they have no supply from the wings

Still waiting for more frequent through balls from our expensive central midfielders, but they rarely come in open play

  3. You forget that there are still intentional matches to play, so hopefully no injuries there. And rightly pointed out by robjrieger that wheelchair is injured. Nice to be positive but jumping the gun a bit

    1. There are many people on this site who know this sport. I fell in love with the game 10 years ago.
Laca and Auba can play as strikers in a 442 formation My question is has this formation fallen out of favor and why?

      1. Yeah totally agree-We DO have the players for a 442 but not the manager with the inspiration and tactical nous to make this work effectivey

        1. you will play whome in the wings…we all know that Ozil is not suited there cause he dont like defending

      2. Because of the success of the 4-4-1-1 formation during the Invicibles era. Bergkamp played behind Henry to help the central midfielders by dropping deep

Nowadays there are more teams playing with only one striker to dominate the midfield area. Even Klopp’s Liverpool play without a true striker (Firmino as a false nine) and Leicester City won the league by using Okazaki’s high work rate behind Vardy

  4. Good news! I hope we beat Stoke….seems like ages since we last played… thank god the international break is nearly over

        1. Your absolutely right Sue, we really have to beat Stoke. What our club has gone through over the years visiting Stoke City is a disgrace. They mock us and boo our team for 90 minutes and break our players legs all in the name of sport. Stoke City, as far as I’m concerned, is the most disliked club in the Premier League and I for one cannot wait to see them relegated. Lets hope this week we put another nail in their coffin. This should be Wenger’s motivation to the side.

          1. Amazing how they boo Ramsey, yet it was Shawcross that broke his leg!! I can’t stand them Kenny. Hope we beat them by at least 2 goals!

    1. You said ages. That makes you ageist. Another night Arsene cries into his pillow.

        1. Mention his age or his last result and it’s naughty corner.

          He’s got himself covered

      1. I love Laca but i think that he had not a good life while playing for Arsene lately. Can he push us most deff for a possible chance to win the competition. He is a very good striker.

I can see him even play with Aubuma in the same starting line up, but not on a standard formation and not under an inferior manager who cant motivate and bring the best out of his players.

Laca knows that the uefea leuage is his chance to make his mark in this club, otherwise he will be used for negotiation purpose in the future. It is known. And Athletico was and might be again his destination.

  5. auba did play as a winger prior to lewandoski departure…

laca and auba should play as strikers

    rotation and competition

isnt this what the fans always wanted? 2 quality strikers?

    so much contradiction…

    1. That’s true. We should look at it in a positive way. Competition. They can push each other We play in 4 competitions so need to rotate too

I don’t think we should look to play them both in same team. Why play them in positions that they aren’t comfortable with. They are strikers. That’s what they do best.

      1. we should only play them together at desperate times …like a goal down and we need an all out attack to score goals and hence subing in all our strikers and attackers for goals

  6. I’ve noticed some new names/guys/gooners on this site….this PIRES doode is pretty active lately…is it just because of thumbs option is removed from justarsenal//com or…is it because the thumbs option is removed from this site?
    :/

      1. We may not agree with or even like what pires says but at least he’s passionate about his beliefs without being nasty!
Anyway back to my beliefs……… Wenger out!

  7. Reports saying Tuchel won’t be coming to us as he’s been told Wenger is seeing out his contract next season and won’t be sacked. Better start making those banners now as it certainly looks like he’s staying!
