Has Mesut Ozil played his last game for Arsenal?

I have just read a very strange article by Rob Shephard, who claims to have inside information that Mesut Ozil is very unhappy at Arsenal and Arsene Wenger is considering off-loading the injured German in January.

I think we can all agree that Ozil has not always played to his best for the Gunners but to suggest that he wants to move on is surely a bit premature. The article in the Mail also suggests that Bayern Munich could be willing to return with a £30 million bid, and Arsenal could be willing to soak up the £12 million loss and make room for Sami Khedira to replace him at the club.

We all know that Ozil prefers to play in his Number 10 slot, and Shephard thinks that the reason for his unhappiness is that he is not allowed by Wenger to get his wish. When Le Prof finally gave him the chance against Villa he had a great game, but Wenger clearly said that he will choose where the German playmaker will play. Wenger said: “It is tempting to keep Ozil in that central role but I maintain again that he will play where he is needed for the balance of the team and that can change game by game.”

I wonder how this Mr Shephard knows what is going on in Ozil’s head, or even Wenger’s, and I am having trouble believing that Wenger would so easily give up on one of the best players on the planet after just a few weak performances. Who thinks that Le Prof would really sell Ozil in January?

  1. Nonsense.. Mesut will have chances under wenger.. He will never sell him in one and half season .. And to be fair to ozil, He was injured after the world cup that’s why could not produce..

    1. Ozil isn’t happy in Arsenal is about Wenger playing him off his position and that makes him vulnerable to injuries, we know him as one of the best no 10 and not flanks , and he isn’t the kind of player that want to play multiple positions.
And we know he is very good when played in his position, why get a no 10 player to be playing wing when you have wingers , if he wanted wingers he would had gone for that .
Ozil has made it clear , he is good at No. 10 and it has been prove severally.
most of the injuries in Arsenal is mainly because of issues like this ; formations that don’t work , throwing players off their positions and matching the wrong player …
Well , Ozil leaving or staying doesn’t change a thing than a player , if the coach doesn’t get it right the Club will still remain the same only with different players.

  2. If Wenger sold him, he must be fuc*ING idiot and incompetent. He spend the most money on one player, what did he see in him? Our most experienced manager in EPL bought him, so those in wenger I trust must be idiots too.

      1. Do you really think is panic buy? When did Wenger feel panic? If Wenger really feel for the fans and do panic buy than we must got a lot wc players cos fans here have been asking him for all sort of players.

So this coming Jan you foresee there must be a panic buy too, don’t know got any more 42 mil player coming or not.

        1. Once upen a time this dude did woke up from his sleep and decided to hate Ozil no matter what, so save your breath and dont reason with trolls. Even if he was a panic buy, he is was an important one, bec his transfer to us gave a message away to the world that we can spend and we are not up for being a cheap club anymore, who know nothing besides losing players, transfer window after transfer window.

We need to use him on his natural poz and bring a world class LW in the team.

@KickAss bro said that Ox could do it, i believe it aswell, but Wenger thinks he will end up as a Cm which i dont understant. Another reason to question Wenger as a manager.

          1. @Ks… I don’t hate Ozil.. I just don’t get the hype.. You guys hype him and chat crap about the likes of Wilshere, Ramsey, Giroud, Arteta etc…

Seriously I have been waiting and waiting to be convinced by Ozil’s so called world class talent, haven’t seen it..

You talk rubbish about Ramsey and Wilshere most of the time, but at least those guys have shown some guts and amazing performances for at least a season or 2 in an Arsenal shirt.. Has Prince Ozil done anything since his £42 million transfer? Or after his £150,000 a week wages?

            Smh..

            1. You are stupid bro. If you would truly read the things i say you would know that i never speak bad about the players you mentioned, beside one player and thats Giroud.

              1. Lol.. You absolutely despise Ramsey and even Wilshere.. You always have to mention Ramsey if you are trying to prove a negative point. Ramsey, Wilshere, Cazorla won us the FA CUP and COMMUNITY SHIELD.

All Ozil gets are excuses from his fan boys. Try criticising Ozil and this whole site will go into excuse mode and melt down.

But try Criticising Giroud, Wilshere, Arteta, Monreal, Cazorla, Walcott etc and all of you will be on the same page, “get rid of them, they are average, overrated players that make Ozil look bad” blah blah. It’s always someone else’s fault for Ozil’s poorness..

                Smh

                1. Make a point and look up for any comments on the past topics and try to find something you claim i have done. Try if you can but you know that you will fail, as you are saying things which are not true.

When i do mention Wilsher and Ramsey i do so to make a point that the two together cant play in the same formation, as both dont complete each other, and thats a big reason why we are playing so poor this year. Its the 4-1-4-1 formation which is killing us. I do favor Wilsher to Ramsey, but that doesnt mean i hate Ramsey.

No one hates Santi. I hate Wenger for freezing him out.
No one cant hate Arteta. That guy took cut his salary and served us well when times where critical and where the likes of Fabregas ( who many fans are still licking his ba^lls) deserted us. He is beig played out of poz aswell. Much respect.

No one should be free from critisem. It needs to be proper one and not sheer bs and hate.

          2. Yes, his signing sent a message to the world. The top clubs like City, Chelsea and Liverpool took us too seriously as a result.

  3. If Ozil wants to leave because he isn’t playing number 10, then I blame Wenger. I have complete sympathy for him. United didn’t get the best out of Welbeck because they played him on the wing instead of up front. Same with Ozil. The matches against Galatasaray and Aston Villa showed clearly that Ozil excels in the number 10 position. Why Wenger puts him on the wing has left me dumbfounded.

Walcott is coming back so I can’t see Ozil playing any position other than number 10.

Also, Khedira coming should not be at the expense of one of our best players. It should be an addiction.

  4. If we can get £30 to £35 million then it’s a good deal for me… Ozil is a very nice and sweet guy bit I don’;t think he can cut it in the EPL.. It’s too much for him..

When the NEWS broke last summer on MOTD, Gary Lineker said “Arsenal were in advanced with Madrid to sign midfielder Mesut Ozil for a figure believed to be about £43 million”..

I was like noooooooooooooo, we go from Suarez, refusing to go above £40 million + £1, then waste £42 million on a player we did not need and still don’t need him to this day..

Refusing to pay more than £40 million + £1 for Suarez but then paying £42 million for Ozil?

    Madness…

    1. 42m for a player like Ozil is normal. Just try to use your logic and compare his transfer to others. Like Lamela, Lalana, Mata and so one.

    2. You get the feeling that a neat round sum of £42M could have nicked Suarez. Sadly, we decided to be a little bit clever.

      1. 60m and he would be playing at Arsenal. But Wenger was to afraid and still is. Right so. He is unable to manage big players as history has proven and todays time still do.

  5. Wenger needs to play mesut ozil consistently and not in and out of position, to get the best out of him and thats down the “middle”! Coyg!

  6. I believe this report is total nonsense! If Wenger had second thoughts on Ozil he would have Fabregas. Ozil is a fantastic player, if you look at his stats sice he joined the club they are the best. This is for assists, key passes, ball retention and accuracy. Since he joined mthe club and killed the media narrative, that Wenger does not spend big money, the media have been very negative to Ozil. That are trying to make him another Torres. Ozil communicates well with supporters and loves the club and is happy in London. Arsenal are rewarding him far better than Real Madrid. He won the World Cup, played every game. Bayern Munich, would love to buy him. Ozil is pure class, and there is absolutely no chance, he would wish, or be allowed to leave our great club.

  7. I don’t want Arsenal to sell our highly priced asset so soon. Both The boss and Mesut Ozil should be patient with each other and iron out their differences amicable for the goodness of our Club. After 3 months treatment, I believe Ozil will surely come back rejunvinated and star crediblly for Arsenal. His is our best creator and the best around. If the boss will allow others to play in their preferred positions, why should Ozil not be allowed too. Afterall he is not a natural wide player. I think in addition to securing the much demanded CDMs. I think the boss should sign a natural left wide player to relive Ozil being deployed to that position which is been making him to be getting injuries.

  8. Wenger needs to go. What common sense does the man have buying the best no.10 in the world and plays him on the wing. The same man that has 6 defenders in his squad and 6 attacking midfielders. We will be mid table after Xmas, what will all you Wengernites say then.

  9. Yes Ozil will move to Bayern
but not till the summer the
    fee being 33 mill.
    Podolski will join schalke 04
for 10 mill and we will buy
    Draxler for 20 mill.
Arsenal will also buy Lars Bender
    from Leverkusen for 20 mill.

  10. I don’t want Arsenal to sell our highly priced asset so soon. Both The boss and Mesut Ozil should be patient with each other and iron out their differences amicable for the goodness of our Club. After 3 months treatment, I believe Ozil will surely come back rejuvenated and star crediblly for Arsenal. His is our best creator and the best around. If the boss will allow others to play in their preferred positions, why should Ozil not be allowed too. Afterall he is not a natural wide player. 11. Thus we will be able to
release Ozil who is not quite
right for this club and who
wants to leave and Podolski who
is not in the frame much now.
We get a much needed DM and a Left side attacker.
Net spend -3 mill. Good bussiness I say.
The club then sells Mertesacker for 10 mill
and buys CB William Carvallo for 25 million ?.
Net spend 12 mill with all areas now covered.
12 blo#dy mill and its all done 🙂
Oh and Flamini Diaby and Rosicky are released.

    1. A wishful thinking. Why will Gotze want to come to Arsenal? Arsenal is a not a very attractive place to many top players. Wait until we have a new manager.

  12. Don’t give yourselves sleepless night over this Ozil rumours, soon he will come out on twitter and tell us that “he is very happy at the Emirates”. Players who will be leaving this January are Podolski,Campbell and probably Rosicky in the summer.Don’t you see that all these players I’ve mentioned play in the left wing? That is why Wenger is trying to replace them with Draxler, an improvement over Podolski and Campbell.Do you really think Wenger would like to cut his losses and sell Ozil who cost him a fortune after just one season with Arsenal? We all know that Wenger likes to make profit in selling players and so how can he decide to sell Ozil for £30m when he bought him for £42.5m,maybe is not the same Wenger we are talking about here.

  13. OUT: Coquellin, Monreal, Diaby, Flamini, Arteta, Campbell, Rosicky, Podi, Per, Giroud

IN: Varane, Hummels, Isco, Draxler, Reus, Cavani, Carvalho, Bender, Baines

  14. Only an idiot would sell Ozil. It won’t happen. Cazorla, Rosicky, Wilshere are the ones that should be going before Ozil. Ozil is the best by far. If Wenger would play him correctly and stop babying Wilshere and feeling sorry for Cazorla he would get back to his best.

  15. It’s good for both parties if the trade really happens. This is another failing of Wenger on how to use his players. Cut the loss and get some money for another trade.

  16. f**king idiot rumours! pls give mesut a breath at least when he is injured! I don’t get it why the media don’t want him to be successful esp on Arsenal colours. lots of critics on his performance n now when he is injured, some rubbish “mesut unhappy @Arsenal n wants to move on” rumours. He ll remain @Arsenal n ll be one of our legends! COYG
