There are lots of rumours flying about suggesting that Arsenal will soon announce a new player, the Zambian international Stoppila Sunzu. It’s a great name for a defender, and he is believed to be a star of the future in his country. According to reports from Zambia, the owner of his current club, TP Mazembe, has told the rest of the team that Sunzu has played his last game for them and is off to the Premier league.
The 23-year old began as a striker before moving back as a defensive midfielder. He has also played a lot as a centre back for club and country. Sunzu has 32 international caps for Zambia, and three goals. He scored the penalty that won Zambia the African Cup of Nations against the Ivory Coast at the start of the year.
The young player had been linked with Premier league Reading, but it now seems that Arsenal will be his next club. Could this be another one of Wenger’s `finds`? Sunzu is thought to be arranging visa issues, then attending an awards ceremony where he has been nominated as the best player playing in Africa, before heading to England to finalise the deal.
