In demand Arsenal star set for new 5-year contract

Good news Gunners because one Arsenal star is looking likely to sign a new contract in the coming weeks, which will all but confirm that he won’t be leaving Arsenal for the dorseeable future.

Hector Bellerin had been linked with a move back to former team Barcelona earlier in the summer, although the 21 year old was quick to point out that the potential move didn’t quite interest him as much as the media made out. Bellerin was of course flattered by such interest but openly stated that although Barcelona is an attractive prospect, he wouldn’t be signing for the Catalans, instead choosing to remain at Arsenal.

A rumour then arose that stated new Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was interested in bringing Bellerin to Manchester. Pep was of course in charge of Barcelona, when Arsenal nabbed the young star from them.

Bellerin previously told the media: ‘I am very happy at Arsenal. I renewed last year and have many years left. I am very happy. In football you can always spend a lot, but I’m in the Arsenal, giving everything for the club. I do not think about going to anywhere else.’

Bellerin did recently sign a contract with Arsenal last year, however according to the Metro, The Gunners are ready to offer the Spaniard a new deal at the club and look to extend his stay even further. The rumoured deal will increase his wage in response to his strong performances and immense talent, and the contract is set to run out in 2021.

Signing Bellerin to another long term deal can only be a good thing for Arsenal because it increases his price if potential suitors are sniffing around, it commits his future to the club for a longer period and it also shows his intentions to remain with Arsenal. By signing a new long term deal, it shows that Arsenal are willing to fully invest in Bellerin and keep him from the clutches of other clubs, as well as reward him for his fantastic efforts with the first team so far.

Bellerin will be going into his third season as a first team regular come August and I am fully convinced that next season we will only continue to see him improve and develop into one of the very best full backs around. It is unlikely that Bellerin will sign such a deal with Arsenal whilst at the Euros, but on return to London, the new contract offer is sure to be waiting.

  1. Yes, he will cerainly developed into best Rith Back in the PL. I think next seaon he will ceratinly improved more. Its really a great news that he is signning a new contract.
His pace will always allow him to be head and sholders ahead of any one. He has now got great passing range too. I think neaxt seaon his assis records will be on a high.
He probably needs to improve a bit in defending one on one. Neymar and Douglas Costa has troubbled him a lot.

He is already approching world class level. But with these improvements, he will be among the very best

  2. Great news.. …welldone Bellerin. I remember his first big experience against Dortmund In the champions league last season. He didn’t have a good game but you can see he has really improved from there.. .

I just hope we don’t start the season without a new striker…

OT: Congrats to Northern Ireland…love the joy on the players and fans faces.. ..

  3. Great!!!

My favorite player at the club right now. I see this guy doing a Bale in future by switching positions, but of course this all depends on Wenger, the coaching stuff and the player himself. Having said this I am happy him locking down that RB spot at the moment.

    Run Hector Run!!!
