Is Chelsea boss out of order for discussing Alexis ahead of Arsenal clash?

Antonio Conte has admitted his admiration for Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal ahead of the clash between Arsenal and Chelsea this weekend.

The Gunners play host to the Blues in what could prove a tough encounter for our side, thanks to a number of injury absences of late. We will be hoping home advantage can help us to claim all three points, but our squad will be stretched for the crunch clash.

Conte may well be playing some mind games ahead of the clash, by talking about his admiration for Alexis Sanchez, who has already been struggling to find his best form amidst hue uncertainty regarding his future.

The Italian admits that the Chilean would be of interest to him as a target, but moves to insist that his involvement at Chelsea Football Club is solely to work with the players he has, and not to make moves in the market, which is tasked elsewhere within the club.

“I think there is this maybe this habit here, but I’m not involved in the transfer market, I give my opinion but the club decide for the players they want to buy, to invest in,” he told reporters.

“I changed my number. I don’t have this problem. In this period for us it’s very difficult, but it’s right for the club to be involved 100 per cent in the transfer market and to try to do the best for the team and for the club and I’m ready to face every situation.

“We must stay calm. I don’t like to speak about other players of other teams but you are talking about two big and strong players, top players for their roles, and Vidal is one of the best in the world but Sanchez is the same as a striker.”

Should Conte keep quiet about our players? Will Alexis be distracted by Conte’s words?

  1. OT:i do want us to win Chelsea for bragging right ……. buh draw or lose to other small teams, If not getting to top 4 is wat is needed to send arsene packing am gunning for an arsenal 6th place finish…

  2. @xhaka 6 +1

Exactly how I feel. At this point, we’ve lost chances of finishing top 2, anything lower than that is not good enough.

Have always been a Wenger fan, still am, but I am looking forward to the end of the season. We could finish 9th or 15th, it doesnt matter, only until we reach critical point the club will make drastic changes.

    1. You don’t count 9 to 15 being in dyer/ drastic need. We haven’t put in one title fight for too many years to keep count, that is not a team I can be proud to be apart of. I am part of all the same, my subscription, my time, my interest, my past, my future, I have a right to want my team to show character and just give us full concentration and effort. We give that to them, it makes them the envy of most, but they act like pre madonnas doing just enough to not fall too far.

We need to go a different route, or that’s us not putting in full concentration/effort yet again.Transfer market, field play, tactics, medical quandaries, mentality, leadership, ambition, quality. We are lacking, not most lacking in league, but lacking significantly.

Transfer market and ambition, that could two birds right there, mentality and leadership, again it could be one great decision sorts two of them out or at the least we improve some. More/better tactics would go a way to helping out our game play, allot of what we are missing is linked in one way or another.

  3. A mind game to ruin Arsenal players’ concentration before the match, we have seen Mourinho did something like this a lot.

I think Arsenal could beat Chelsea, as long as the defenders do not make any errors. Using the same 3-4-2-1, Arsenal could man-mark Chelsea players, and this match would be a podium for Sanchez, Ozil and Wilshere to showcase their abilities in front of Conte.
