Is Inter striker Icardi flying into London for Arsenal talks?

Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi could be jetting into London to seek talks with Arsenal this summer, as he looks to decide on his future.

The Argentine striker is believed to be frustrated at having had talks delayed over a new bumper contract, having agreed previously that he would wait for the club’s financial crisis to die down.

Icardi had been strongly linked with a move to Napoli, as replacement for new Juventus signing Gonzalo Higuain, but a move has so far failed to materialise, although is not dead.

The report claims that the Inter Milan captain could now jet off to London to seek talks with the Gunners, as he looks to find out the seriousness of their interest in his signature.

His wife, and agent, Wanda Nara has continually threatened that Icardi would look for a move should they fail to bump up his contract, and the club have so far refused to meet his conditions, and now looks certain to leave, with Napoli or Arsenal most likely.

The North-London side have actively been seeking a new addition for their strikeforce this coming season, with Danny Welbeck having been ruled out until 2017, and with Theo Walcott having failed to impress in the central role last term.

Alexandre Lacazette has recently been very strongly linked with a switch to the Emirates club, but his club Lyon have been reluctant to play ball so far, and appear to keen on trying to keep their striker.

The French forward however seems to have other intentions, and could well get his wish to move to the big English side after all.

Who would you pick, Lacazette or Icardi? Or is there better available?

  1. OT: Draxler wants to leave. I am not sure who is better for us, Mahrez or Draxler? As they both are good players. Mahrez has advantage of PL experience.

Please let me know your views

    Upvote for Mahrez
    Downvote for Draxler

  2. So many players have expressed there appreciation from being linked with Arsenal yet they all go away taken by clubs who are willing to go the extra mile to seal the deal. They understand that it is an inflated market and that all clubs are liable to the same things.

This are the players based on rumours being too frequent on them I believe Arsenal have expressed interest in and maybe made tentative bids: Lacazette/Icardi (ST) Mahrez/Draxler (RW) & Mustafi (CB). From what we’re hearing they’re all keen and “flattered” to be linked to Arsenal.

How long until we can get an official statement from the club announcing our 2nd real signing after Xhaka?!All of those players would make Arsenal a better teamed amongst favourites for the title…

Wenger & the club please show us that actions speak louder than words!

  3. Icardy is flying to
    London to have talks
    with Hemel Hempstead.
    The National league outfit
is keen to add more fire power up front as
they missed the play offs by one place last term.
Coach Dean Brennan said Arcadi will have to fight
for game time with Jake Robinson and Mitchell Weiss.
“Icardi will spend time with the reserves as he adapts to
the higher speed and quality of the NLS said Brennan.
Icardi himself says ” I asked the little spirit inside me
what should I do and he told me to go to Hemel Hemstead
for there you will achieve your destiny”.
Fellow Argentinians Messi and Maradonna spent a season on loan
at HH but did not make the grade and were picked up by Barca.

    1. Lol @ “the little spirit inside me”
Cloud Sport sources claim Acryton Stanley may hijack the deal mid-air.

  4. Wenger: But can you hold the ball up?

Icardi: *turns to agent* what time is the return flight?

    1. @RVP.
I miss ur Wenger/Bould/Ivan/Stan dialogues. Little bit humour on JA is good from time to time.

  5. Icardi has stated emphatically that he wants to stay at Inter and that he is very happy there….

I know you can’t always believe players but it will take a high level of intent and ambition for Arsenal to get him away from there…

How??? Just offer Inter 45m for him, and see how they will ‘flog’ him to Arsenal.but we all know that is very unlikely….

This is my proposition, IF Wenger doesn’t want to spend too much why not just go for Carlos Bacca,Mahrez, and let us have our new players train with us for at least twice before the season starts proper…

    1. With a cut off wages? “Sure” he’s happy to stay at Inter. His wife also his agent doesn’t.

  6. Another day and another 5 or more players are in London for talks and medicals? Why do people keep spreading this BS!

    1. You don’t understand. Hearing something (even BS) is better than nothing. The media are trying to cheers us. You can’t blame them. Hahaha…

  7. Draxler is at the begining (65%) of his development and Mahrez is at the end (100%) and Draxler is better already. Draxler ist German he will be better and better. Germans on the top with 30,

    1. Didn’t you know? De Laurentis Jr. just hijacked the plane using Higuian’s refund . They are now heading to Napoli. London is too far, Wanda Nara just wanted his husband to get worthy payment.

  8. How come every article about icardi fails to mention that inter have new cash rich chinese owners. It is reported on reliable media sources like bbc and sky. Here is an extract “Suning will inject a steady stream of capital investment in Inter Milan, which will help attract more talented players,” said chairman Zhang Jindong.

Icardi is inters top goalscorer, they will only sell if they are getting someone better.

Any reliable article in the media would explain that inter has new cash rich owners who will be putting money in to the club and how selling icardi fits in to this new financial situation. These latest reports are obviously the normal made up media rubbish.
