Is it either Nolito OR Isco for Arsenal transfer deal?

With just a few short days left of the winter transfer window to go for Arsenal and our Premier League rivals to add any new players that we need to get us through to the end of the current season, we still have not seen our only transfer purchase Mohamed Elneny play.

But as the Egyptian midfielder prepares for his Arsenal debut in the FA cup against Burnley on Saturday, it appears as though Arsene Wenger’s hints about Elneny being the only signing he will make might have been not entirely true. Because the Gunners are now being linked with a few more players.

The two major Arsenal transfer rumours going around the football press this week are about the La Liga stars Isco and Nolito. The Independent even claims that Arsenal are after both the Real Madrid midfield star and the Celta Vigo forward, but I would be amazed if that was true.

Even though one is listed as a striker and one a midfielder, the two players actually tend to play a similar role, either on one of the flanks or behind the central striker. Surely Wenger will not sign two players for the same position over the next few days, so do you think it will be either one or the other, if any? And if so, which would you prefer Arsenal to sign?

    1. None of them will be signed. Why can’t you believe that our injured players are coming back. We don’t need players warming the bench and frowning for lack of game. Gabriel, the Ox, and so on.

  1. Can’t see Nolito at Arsenal…simply too “old”. Isco is an interesting one though..but nothing will happen in the winter window. I just can’t see RM selling Isco while Zizou is there. He was instrumental in bringing him to RM. His problem now (a good one it must be said) is how does Zizou fit both James Rodriguez and Isco in the first XI while playing their favoured 4231? Neither player is a bench-warmer so it’s going to take some man-management to keep both players motivated and contented.

Frankly I think there’s more credence in a move for Yarmolenko for a summer transfer- a natural & gifted right winger with a great work ethic (and height!). Simple question – would adding Yarmolenko improve the squad (Wenger’s test)? A resounding yes – at least imho. A natural consequence would be that Ox, Welbeck, Campbell, Walcott, Ramsey, Wilshire would find their playing time somewhat reduced.

The midfield options could well be:

    Coquelin/El Neny Santi/Ramsey/Jack

    Yarmolenko/Campbell/Walcott/Ramsey Ozil/Santi/Jack Sanchez/Welbeck/Ox/Campbell

    Giroud/Walcott/Welbeck

Quite frankly – I can’t see anyone joining us this winter who’s going to make a significant impact on this title race.

  2. Wait till the summer and land a big name RW cause I don’t think any big ST will be available. Maybe Benzema if Lewa goes to madrid but I’d rather have a top RW/LW like Reus, Griezmann (plays up top mostly now), or hazard etc.

    1. Benzema is a big no no for me, overrated and plays the same style as Giroud. We need a forward who can play on the wing cause Walcott alone is simply not good enough. It’s logical to go for a young player who replace Sanchez in the future and a midfielder who will replace Cazorla since Wilshere is always getting injured.

  3. The transfer disease seems to be with you till the end. Arsenal’s transfer business ended with the acquisition of Elneny.
