Is Jack Wilshere becoming Arsenal’s new Diaby?

Surprise! Arsenal Crock Wilshere Suffers Another Injury Setback! by AT

Arsenal have suffered yet another injury blow as star midfielder Jack Wilshere has suffered yet another setback in his rehabilitation from injury and is now expected to return in February, at the earliest. Now while the estimated return date for the midfielder is around February, the Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger admitted that it is difficult to be sure.

As quoted by the Daily Mail, the Frenchman said: “He will not be back before February, that’s for sure. I said February but honestly I don’t know. ‘I let him do his recovery. It’s going slowly. Once he goes again, goes outside to train, once he is back again into sharp, hard work physically, you count five or six weeks, so at the moment he is not there yet.”

Having suffered the ankle injury in pre-season, the English international is yet to feature for Arsenal this campaign and his non-availability has been a significant factor in the Gunners’ injury crisis in midfield. With the current ankle injury being the tenth of his career, you cannot help but worry about how much Jack can contribute on the long-term.

When it comes to his abilities on the pitch, there is no question that Jack Wilshere has the ability to become a world-class midfielder. With unmatched tenacity and dedication to go with technical brilliance and supreme dribbling, the Englishman has all the attributes to be the engine room of the Gunners’ midfield. But the problem is that Arsene Wenger just cannot afford to depend on the player.

For me, the most worrying part is Wenger stating that he just does not know when Jack could make a return. While I really hope to see him back in February, I won’t be surprised if news emerges that he’s suffered another setback, just like the never-ending returns of Abou Diaby. But on a positive note, I really think the Gunners’ midfield has what it takes to finish the season without Wilshere. Besides, Wenger is poised to sign Basel midfielder Mohammed Elneny in the coming days.

  1. Personally id forget jack till next season. He needs a slow process of reintroduction even once he’s fit enough to train. This is it, for him, his mentality and his worth to AFC. He either makes the recovery for next season or he’s probably a permanent fixture in the Physio room. Even next season I’d play him occasionally – he needs a season that is manageable without further injury to ever get close to his past potential.

This about sums it all up. He needs to set his sights on returning next season, and in that time, work on altering his style of play. Otherwise, he will end up like Diaby…

  2. I might sound harsh but he should NOT be included in the squad list next season….let him go out on loan or something, to get his body and mind right, we can not keep carrying players every season, we just about managed to get rid of one player who took up a squad place for years without nothing to show for it and now we are lumbered with another…..AFC has done more for him than any other club will, let him go out on loan and sort himself out, we are not a charity

  3. Honestly, am beginning to raise a huge concern about Arsenal’s title bid, I sat and watched how Arsenal always get close to winning the PL, but, at the end of the day we keep losing our chances, most especially to injury woes. What we need right now is to make top quality january transfer signings, Ozil is doing good at the moment, I suggest we get him a backup and a DM and a striker to secure the title come 2016.

  4. Man City 3 Leicester 0

Leicester to be denied a goal in controversial circumstances. Arsenal to go into the new year as table leaders. But will they top the table in May as well? I won’t comment on speculation.

  5. Wilshere is not quite
    another Diarby yet.
    However the signs
    are not good.
City wanted him for 40 mill in the summer, sigh.
Could have bought two top mids for that. Sigh.
What compounds things is that other mids
Rosicky and Arteta are older Diarby’s like.
So now we have Sanchez and Cazorla injured
    we have 5 mids injured.
Ozil has carried the midfield on his own so well.
    Please may he stay fit.

  6. i would prefer LC win, MC dropping points makes me more comfy in the long run, draw is OK, but prefer LC win,

  7. Wilshere is a puzzle wrapped in an enigma. He’s clearly talented no doubt. His all action style of playing football which is what makes him Jack and the reason we all love him is also his own downfall. He’s neva scared of going in full pelt. Next thing u know out 4 the rest of the season. He’s full blooded arsenal n dats why selling him leaves a bad taste. He’s part of the reason le boss passed up resigning cesc. I personally think when Jack(notice we use his first name usually only 4 specially beloved players eg santi, theo, alexis, etc) Anyway am rumbling now. If Jack gets just one injury free season lyk judas van idiot did..
