It seems a large majority of Arsenal fans DO want Wenger Out

Well the Just Arsenal News poll on whether Wenger should leave Arsenal by the end of this season has been running for 24 hours now and the results are very clear right now.

Out of 620 voters there has been a massive majority of 501 (81%) in favour of Wenger leaving the club, while only 119 (19%) think he should be allowed to respect his contract. That is a massive majority, and if this reflects the whole of the Arsenal fanbase then it is a searing indictment of Arsene Wenger’s popularity.

The poll that Jon Fox was talking about was by the Arsenal Supporters Trust, and this was reported three weeks ago..

The Arsenal Supporters Trust (AST) conducted a survey ahead of its annual general meeting on Monday, asking members whether Wenger should see out the final year of his contract and stay on until next summer.

It said 88 percent of those who responded said the board should end his contract after this season, with only seven percent in favour of him staying in charge.

The organisation did not say how many of its around 2,500 members took part in the survey, but the results will be presented to Arsenal CEO Ivan Gazidis this week.

AST, which has long been critical of Wenger, conducted a similar survey last year, when 78 percent of its members said he should not be given a new deal.

That last line should be a warning to everybody that the Arsenal Board do NOT listen to fans when it comes to making decisions about Wenger’s contract. So I think the only way to really let them know how you feel about it is by simply not attending the games. It will be interesting to see how many seats are empty next Sunday when Arsenal play Stoke at the Emirates….

    1. Most polls are meant to be almost pointless. Its just entertainment or done for research purposes.

This site wanted to know statistically how fans felt about Wenger going immediately or finishing his contract

  1. Great to see that the Admin has now joined the vast majority of us who crave Wengers leaving. Please note I do not say “SACKED” as I feel sure it will be dressed up as “mutual consent”. Yeah! Sure! We all know how desperate Wenger also is to leave, don’t we! Mutual? My ar.e! Glad also to have the truth of what I was saying about percentage, 88% on larger fan polls than this one, wanting him out, is confirmed. Changing the subject for a moment, how are you PIRES, Ken 1945, John Ibrahim and Counsel? Just for no reason , I suddenly thought I would enquire after your health!

And yes, the Admin has another great point too about keeping the stadium empty until the great day of his exit arrives or at least is announced. Once I personally know he is definitely going, even if as long away as July(end of his contract) I will start attending again next game against Stoke. But not until he is going for sure. Personally, I believe the club have either already offered the job to Tuchel OR are actively seeking Wengers replacement, at least to appoint this summer. But it is important to leave the regime in NO DOUBT about our refusal to support the club under Wenger. Once he goes, for all I care, if it makes the regime happy and the very few who still want him to stay, they are welcome to build their statue , or name a stand after him or worship at his shrine in the stadium concourse. Anything! Just as long as his actual physical presence is NOT THERE! Almost victory now. Friends and fellow real Gooners, we are on the last lap in our fight to free our club. Take heart!

    1. Thank you JON for your mercy and may you continue your orgasmic celebration as you will soon find that he’s not gone and i fear therfore for YOUR health, cause you missed what admin mainly said : the board don’t care about this “majority”.Anyway,it’s a pleasure to see you happy!!!!!

    2. An amusing line near the end of another boring rambling comment, when you mention fellow real gooners, is this supposed to indicate that anyone with a different view to you is not a ‘real gooner’?

  2. You’ll not find a single club in the WORLD doing a poll to make decisions….this listning to fans thing is rubbish.

        1. I think they do listen to fans actually.
And the reasoning is simple enough even for you.
No fans = no revenue = no profit.
          See how that works?
Or do you think Wenger is now more important than the paying fan?

          1. And exactly how many of these clubs has turned down in the last 8 years? As if they would want him anywhere near their clubs now

        2. @PIRES
Your argument that he turned down several top clubs is not valid anymore. He turned them down when he WAS a top manager years and years ago.. He’s simply not a top manager now whether you like it or not. Many of you guys wanted him gone since 2006, that final wasn’t his fault actually as we played better than Barca but the red card changed everything. Wenger in my eyes was great even after that as we played amazing football with players like Nasri, Fabregas, Song and Van Persie. His tactical decline in my opinion started when he brought Giroud and changed our tactical approach to accomodate him and the switch from our beatiful and smooth flowing football to the cheap version of Barca’s Tiki Taka.

  3. ADMINI, let me assure you that Arsene Wenger, the Arsenal manager fondly called Le Boss or Le Prof will not be forced out from the Arsenal manager’s hot seat by Stan Kroenke who calls the shot at Arsenal at the end this season’s campaign. More so, if the Gunners lift the Europa League Cup to claim a big Title win at the very end of the season.

True, the AST might have had their poll which was heavily against Le Boss. But that poll cannot be said to be the majority voice of the Arsenal supporters across the world. Or could it be? As for the Arsenal vs Stoke Premier League match at the Ems on Sunday, the reason for the low turnout in our last home PL match against Watford could be attributed to the freezing weather condition in the UK that forced most Arsenal season ticket holders to stay at home. But as the snow weather condition is looking to improve significantly this week and if it didn’t fall back to the previous bad weather condition before the international break, the Arsenal fans PL match attendance at the Ems on Sunday should be a full Stadium attendance physically and not just by tickets sold count only.

    1. The ACTUAL attendance against Stoke will be mainly determined by how strongly most fans actually believe Wenger is definitely leaving and that Tuchel, or whoever else. will be installed at start of next season. I haven’t been since October last season but I will certainly attend, AS SOON , as it is certain the club ruiner is leaving this summer. By May is still my firm prediction for his sacking, though they will pay him off up to next July 2019, being his contract date. If fans feel he may stay, the ground will again be half empty. And in answer to the cold weather excuse, the Watford game was half full and the weather perfectly OK. WHICH GIVES THE LIE TO THAT BOGUS THEORY.

            1. No arguments there John.Do you remember when we had so much quality that couldn’t get on the BENCH let alone the side.

  4. Absurd. An anti-Wenger website has a vote about sacking Wenger. That’s a bit like having a vote on the Spurs website about who’s better Kane or Henry. This sort of thing just makes you look even less objective than ever.

    1. You have obviously not been on here long. Admin has often been referred to as AKB
However that groups is falling rapidly

      1. And the Admin has constantly said that they support Arsenal, they try to show both sides…
If people called Admin a AKB then they are blind AOB, they have done articles from both sides and this wasn’t the 1st anti-Wenger article published on this site.

I feel sorry for admin here, try to show both sides and boths sides turn on them.

    2. Oi who says this is anti Wenger website????
We are a site for arsenal fans and you will find pro and anti on here…

      1. hahahaha well web site is pro Wenger but the problem is that majority of visitors are anti W.
Dont worry sir Admin …we dont judge 😉

    3. The league table will be the only thing that matters.
And that does not paint a very good picture does it?
      Or the half empty stadium…

  5. I now feel it is time for Wenger to look at passing the torch onto a new face, now that Gazidis is making those backroom changes, I feel it is now time to include the managerial spot in those changes.

I didn’t support Wenger being sacked (PR as mutual consent) prior to the changes that Gazidis is now doing, I didn’t feel the CEO was doing enough, I wanted that side of Arsenal to get resolved before changing manager.

We are having our worst season so far and yet we are not 7th, the pos that UTD finished in the 13/14 season, things could be worse.

    Credit to Wenger for that.
I get annoyed with his lack of tactics and our teams performances but can’t deny that UTD dropped lower than we are currently in our worst season under Wenger.

Now is the time to find a new manager as Wenger is dropping and the club is changing which doesn’t appear to be suited to get the best out of him.

    1. What exactly is the relevance of United finishing 7th?
Do you think he might use that as a bargaining tool for keeping his job?
Those people who support this man are really getting very desperate.
Just like he is getting desperate by claiming age discrimination when it is clear that people are protesting over being 33 points behind.
      Things have to change…

  6. Elneny signed a contract extension with arsenal, talk of rewarding mediocrity seemingly no plans for a proper DM.Next will be Ramsey, wilshere and welbeck. The new contract negotiator needs to know that his work is not only extending contracts not every player must stay, when we get a chance to get rid of deadwoods we need to utilize it

      1. I think the point is you cannot have a squad of top drawer internationals as they won’t all sit there watching and getting an occasional game, you need squad players who work hard and give their all. Elneny is one of this players, I believe he is worth his place in the squad.

  7. It amazes me.
It amazes me that there are people who think that this old man can reinvent himself, completely change his whole approach and philosophy and lead Arsenal to glory.
These same people forget that it was the same old man who put us in this position to begin with.
These people don’t think that being 33 points behind the league leaders is a bad thing.
They don’t think that being HUMILIATED by City TWICE in a week is a bad thing.
    Afraid of change.
That is exactly what it is- living in the past.
I don’t consider these people to be fans – they are happy to see the club fall further and further behind as long as the manager who has, lets be honest out stayed his welcome remains.
All of this crap about age discrimination is detracting from the facts which are posted every time the league table is published and the gap grows bigger.
Support the club not Arsene Wenger..

      1. it’s David and Goliath type of comparaison. If you don’t understand that we don’t have the same spending power than City:you’r beyond help……

        1. Beyond help?
          David and Goliath?
Have you ever seen our financial reports?
Did you notice our spending recently?
I hate fans like you – living in the past, afraid of progress. looking for excuse and reason to remain in the past
Keeping the fossil in charge at the expense of the club and its fortunes on the pitch.
I think you are beyond help.
In more ways than you think..

            1. Its about identifying what we need not spending 400 million.
How many years have we been asking for a DM?
How many years for a top striker?
And now the defence needs replacing or strengthening.
              How much longer for that?
This is all down to the manager.
And I won’t even bother going down the ability to motivate his players or identify and implement tactics – I don’t need to because the shambles that has been the 2017/18 season has said everything I need to say anyway..

              1. Pires my old cocker-Wigan best Man City with a squad costing Two and Tuppence Ha’penny.
Wenger was HUMILIATED twice in 4 days.
Do not keep spouting out the same rubbish.Your very boring mate.

            2. Jesus is this a robot … It’s not how many points behind man city … Though that is telling enough … It’s how many points we are behind other teams who have less financial resources than we do …

        2. Be
It we do with any other club as we are the 5 th richest in the WORLD yet only 6 th in the premier league

  8. There are people who claim to support Arsenal yet who place the needs of a manager far beyond his prime before the club they claim to support.
    Not Arsenal fans to me.
The worst kind – contemptible and happy to see the club fail as long as the man who has had his time remains for year after year.
    Jesus.
    Arsenal is NOT Arsene Wenger.
Have some respect for its history for f**ks sake..

    1. Who are real fans for you?People who are abusing a club legend ,disturbing playes with their idiotic protests, people who forget that we didn’t even had a training center before the arrival of the current manager

      1. Its not you that is for sure.
        Happy with mediocrity.
Happy to see the club you claim support go down the toilet because the one responsible for managing it cannot see when it is time to move on.
        Its called progress.
        Ferguson moved on from United
        Mourinho moved on Chelsea
        Pep moved on from Barcelona
Every great manager has his reign and moves on.
Twenty two years is more than long enough – his tactics are non-existent, his team is hardly ever motivated and fans are staying away.
If you cannot see that then that is your issue.
He is a legend – without a doubt but its time for a change.
And considering it will affect the business side of it (half empty stadium) the writing is on the wall.
33 points behind with 8 games to go is pathetic for a club of Arsenal’s financial clout and size…

        1. @ me
The same 33 points gap rubbish….beating them in the FA CUP last season was nothing short of miracle giving the amount of money they spent:a contry mile ahead of us

          1. Pires stop chatting ?you keep mentioning city and ignore the other teams such a spuds and Liverpool who are miles ahead of us
We can Only talk about now, Wenger WAS a legend not any more he’s a has been who should retire

          2. Yeah – since when does a football manager be judged on results?
I recall Leicester spending 500 million to win the league..
But I guess Pires here thinks that Arsenal trailing the teams above them by so many points is something we should be encouraged by and proud of.
How about a victory parade around Islington?
            What a plank…

      2. Was the training center built with Wenger’s money? Or was he the architect that built the stadium? Why is wenger’s stay more important to you that the progress of the club and the happiness of over 25m supporters paying a fortune every week?

        1. I also thinks we trained on the local Rec with the whines and stray dogs before the new facility.

  9. I have been pro-change. Not anti-Wenger. I don’t believe Wenger has anything to offer this club because he can not say or do anything new after all his years with this club. He is unlikely to be able to tell his players anything new. This means his tools are gone.

It is entirely possible that Wenger’s words and his message will motivate another club that has never heard them before. In football, you need motivation and change. Let him go try his beloved trade at PSG and rescue his legacy but let him allow Arsenal to move on a refresh.

    1. I will always be pro-change but it is clear, especially this season that you cannot have change and allow the current regime to remain in place.
Arsenal need to move forward with the times and for that we need fresh ideas.
Wenger is a legend and always be a legend.
But Arsenal need to move on…

      1. I sincerely hope Wenger can manage another club and prove to the world that the last 13 years are not representative of his abilities. He needs to rescue his legacy. If he were to retire now it would be a shame because he would retire as a man who lost it years ago and hung on to power for too long.

If he brings success to another club (Bayern, PSG) by winning the CL or a major title (Serie A, La Liga, PL) he could go retire as a great manager.

  10. The only Pole Stan is interested in is the one he has naked ladies swinging round whilst he sits smoking £50 notes..

Wenger’s time is almost done though for sure.
If he is lucky enough to bag the Europa he can finally move on with a high. More realistically we will be beat by Atheltico Madrid or other team and all season ambitions will be buried.
    Either way he is going.

  11. It seems the poll here is in line with other polls, so it only helps cementing the actual feeling among all fans. Whether it is 80% or 88% that want Wenger out, is really just academic.
It is mazing he can choose to stay himself when he can never unite the club again, and it is even mora amazing, if the owners will want to continue with a manager, who has this much opposition and who can’t produce the results.
Luckily, the financial results are starting to show decline as well, so unless we win the Europa League, I think (and hope his time is up).

  12. Is it time for Arsene to leave, yes. Will he leave at the end of this season, maybe. Does he deserve the accolades of the fan base, of course he does. Will Arsenal compete for the title with the introduction of a new manager, no, because there business model doesn’t allow them to match the spending of Manciteh, united etc (Leicester result will not happen again in the foreseeable future) and our academy doesn’t produce the gems like Monaco, BD. Unless the business model changes, Gunners be prepared for best possible outcomes of high table finishes without premierships and knicking the odd cup. This is our lot under Kroenke and co, and the best manager will not change it

  13. Headline:
”It seems a LARGE MAJORITY OF ARSENAL FANS DO want Wenger Out”
    Then it follows:
”Well the JUST ARSENAL NEWS POLL on whether Wenger should leave Arsenal by the end of this season….”
The poll doesn’t mean a thing because it is not representative for the majority of the Arsenal fans…It just proves that after silly article with the bad constructed poll with the lack of options/answers , another silly article with the results of the poll follows!
BTW I also made the poll with my family – should I post this comment or not!? I never waited for the results really and I’ve post it anyway- because I can!
Oh and…Nice timing for the poll , though.
