It would be great if Arsenal get Mbappe but…..

Kylian Mbappé Lottin cannot replace Alexis Sanchez? By Sylvester Kwentua

Arsenal fans seem to be excited about the possibility of us buying Kylian Mbappe Lottin, the 18 years old French born striker who plays for F.C Monaco! While this may be seen as good news to the ear, considering the fact that this season has been an explosive season for him in the French league, I strongly feel we need to curb our emotions before it leads to disappointment.

Mbappé started out at AS Bondy, where his father Wilfried was a coach. A stint at the famous Clairefontaine academy followed, before a host of impressive performances had numerous French clubs attempting to sign him. Mbappé ultimately settled on AS Monaco. He made his Ligue 1 debut on 2 December 2015 in a 1-1 home draw against Caen, replacing Fábio Coentrão after 88 minutes, becoming Monaco’s youngest-ever senior debutant aged 16 years 347 days and breaking Thierry Henry’s record set 21 years ago. On 20 February 2016, Mbappé scored his first senior goal for the club, a stoppage-time goal in a home Ligue 1 3–1 win over Troyes; at the age of 17 years and 62 days, he became the youngest goalscorer in Monaco’s history — displacing Thierry Henry in the process. On 6 March 2016, Mbappé signed his first professional contract, a three-year deal, tying him Monaco until June 2019. This season, he has contributed 11 goals in 24 appearances! Impressive you will say.

At the age of 18, being compared to football greats like Thierry Henry can place a lot of expectations on a young player. This guy is still young and any team buying him, should do so with the intention of working on him, while he gradually becomes the great player he is destined to be. When I hear some Arsenal fans saying Sanchez can leave as long as we have Mbappe, we are fine! I laugh because to be honest, they are far from the truth. I am not going to come here and appeal to Sanchez to stay because I believe his mind is made up already on where he wishes to play next season, but if we are to buy any player that will make an instant impact on the team so that we don’t feel Sanchez’s absence, definitely it should not be Mbappe. This chap is still young and despite the form he is at Monaco right now, I still believe he is not totally ripe for the premiership; the premiership is a different ball game entirely and even the best players; even the matured players, find it hard coping in the premiership.

I will be glad to see Mbappe in Arsenal but not as a replacement for Sanchez! We don’t want another talent to come to our club and fail to shine because of the weight of expectations on his head, or do we?

  1. Mbappe is a talented youngster but anybody who thinks he is on par with sanchez or can replace him(alexis) is a big-fat-joke!
    O.T; manu 2:2 southamton

  2. Please Southampton score again
    Mourinho wants this trophy bad
So want to see his face when you win it 🙂

    1. This Mickey Mouse cup is Mo’s favourite,
It was also the first trophy he won as the Chelsea manager.?

  3. Mbappe will slot nicely into this Arsenal side. Next season, one of Walcott, OX, Sanchez, Ramsey or Wilshere will have to leave. There’ll always be room for a talented youngster 🙂

  4. Utd change their manager, and have already won a trophy, and it’s only February. Why are people so afraid of change?

Dude. You clutch at any weak instance in your attempt to make a moot point. If you were to put in as much energy directing your anger where it really counts, as you do here with your futile rants, you might just get a desired result.

      1. Any weak instance…it’s all weak instances when it comes to Wenger! Take your pick! I don’t rant by the way, I just tell the truth using a little thing called facts.

You use your opinion, bolstered by your disappointment, backed up with a large dose of your bias coupled with the club history. I get it. You ain’t a happy camper. But if you had b*lls to match your faux conviction, you’d be outside the Emirates voicing your anger instead of floppin around out here in the ether…

          1. If I lived anywhere near London, I would! But as I’ve already said many times, it’s pointless doing anything outside the stadium, protesting needs to be done inside, during a game, for maximum effect. Do I really want to waste a lot of money on that? I may do for our last home game, if there still is no decision regarding Wenger’s future. But just because I don’t want to spend around £100 to watch awful football anymore, doesn’t mean I do not have the right to comment about our plight.

By the way, there is no bias, or agenda from myself. My comments regarding the situation at Arsenal is based purely on factual information.

Lastly, I couldn’t care less what you think, because I’ve seen many of your replies to comments before, and they are usually intentionally provocative. Clearly you’re a troll, or one of those delusional AKBs that loathes facts, and doesn’t even understand the meaning of the phrase “reality check”. If you are an Arsenal fan, then implore you…watch them play, you might learn something.

You wrote a heap of nothing, for a guy who claims he could care less. My replies are usually to such negatively biased comments as yours, that constantly interrupt any discussion of worth here.
I’ve been watching and supporting AFC since 83/84 dude. I’ve seen managers as well as players come and go. I’ve supported everyone from that 1st day until they moved on. And I will continue to do so.
And I stand by my words to you. Don’t talk about it. Be about it. Otherwise, it’s just impotent, spineless bluster…

              1. Mate, you jump any negative comment going, usually not even adding anything off substance, just stirring the pot. Hence, why I thought you might be a troll. People have a right to make negative, and positive comments! The reason I, and most other Arsenal fans make negative comments, is because there is nothing good happening at Arsenal.

I also love your ridiculous line “Don’t talk about it. Be about it.” What does that even mean? Fans cannot even discuss the issues regarding Arsenal, they can only go to the stadium and protest? So I guess fans in other countries can’t even talk about Arsenal then, unless they get a flight to London?

  5. Booooo! Booooo!!
    .
Adverbial clause of Time, condition etc.
    .
At Arsenal, it’s an adverbial clause of time, money, management, uncertainty, unseriousness and total futility
