It’s a fact that N’Golo Kante WANTED to join Arsenal

Arsene Wenger has already admitted that he was interested in buying N’Golo Kante from Leicester last summer, but it has now been revealed that Kante himself was also keen on moving to the Emirates. The ex-Liverpool star Robbie Fowler said in his column in the Mirror: Wenger will believe he can turn around his situation. He knows his season has been destroyed by some unfortunate injuries and some bad management from above, with key players allowed to get far too close to the end of their contracts…which has caused so much disruption and uncertainty.

He also knows that players who should have been signed last summer weren’t, and that has cost them. I know for a fact that N’Golo Kante wanted to go to Arsenal, Wenger wanted him, but the deal didn’t get done. I’m not saying it fell through because of his wages. But it fell through because of his wages.

That looks a bit dumb now, doesn’t it? With him in the side, with Sanchez and Ozil settled and playing their part in creating the perfect atmosphere within the squad, things would look very different right now, and Wenger knows it.

Wenger actually said that if you wanted the reason that Arsenal didn’t get Kante, “you only have to look at the team he joined”. So does that mean that Arsenal will never beat Chelsea on the wages front? Or did he not rate him as much as our rivals.

Also is this yet another hint that Alexis could be moving across London this summer?

  1. In Wenger We Trust To Make The Wrong Decision
He offered £15 million instead of the £18 million valuation from Liverpool for Xabi Alonso

Kante would have been exactly what we have needed for over a decade

  2. Wenger actually said that if you wanted the reason that Arsenal didn’t get Kante, “you only have to look at the team he joined”.. he joined the team with ambition, unlike your team old man, playing for 4th ain’t the thing he really wanted

  3. I’m starting to think that Arsene is instructed to do everything in his power to keep Arsenal from winning the title, as it might get the players’ wage appetites greater. So, in that perspective, it kinda makes sense why he didn’t sign Kante, as he’d bring us dangerously close to title contention, and Kroenke don’t want that.

  4. we have 3 billionaires and we can compete with Chelsea?
if they offer 250k we offer 300k and up

    1. But then no ranch in the mid-west, no new investments in Wallmart expansion. Never forget that Arsenal is Kroenke’s cash cow.
Waiting for 2020 when Dagnote will have extra cash to pay over the market value to become a majority owner of Arsenal.

  5. Doesn’t matter if we had gotten Kante and Chelsea got Xhaka (for example) because AFC as a team have played crap for most of the season, where as CFC have played well. They’ve always been defensively solid as well, so Kante has merely augmented that. Look at last season even Hazard was playing bad, this season he is playing good.
Kante could have easily struggled with us this season! But in such a desperate time we are all thinking about scenarios that could have saved our season had last summers window played out differently.

I have mixed emotions about AW/AFC abilities in the coming summer windo! My heart wants and expects us to strengthen with some new recruits and a nice little clear out, but my head is warning me otherwise!
I don’t care if AW wins the treble next season and goes unbeaten in all comps, I will never forgive him for only getting Cech 2 summer windows ago!!! Despite how things actually played out behind the scenes, that sabotaged our season before it had even began

  6. Actually, I don’t really believe that Wenger was interested in Kante
because he never really replaced Viera
He has had plenty of time to get a Top holding midfielder
    A dozen years

He could have tried to sign Alonso, Kondogbia, Carvahlo, Schneiderlin, Krychowiak or even a box2box midfielder who is good defensively like Vidal

Wenger has said in the past that he doesn’t like to spend big on defensive minded midfielders

    1. And it’s going to get worse, especially if we don’t qualify for any European football. The money lost in that department will be made up from the sales of Ozil and Sanchez, whilst Wenger shops for replacements at the local jumble sales. ?
There’s talk of Tadic (£13 million) replacing Ozil ?
And he’ll probably play Iwobi in Sanchez’s position.
Wenger has gone from being a professor to becoming a Grim Reaper, his killing the love for Arsenal fc.

  7. Kante by name, Kante by nature.
Okay, We didn’t sign the Kante by name but we have team that have been playing like a bunch of Kante’s,by nature.??
