Jeff Reine-Adelaide to become Arsenal first-teamer?

There had been talk in recent weeks that Arsenal youngster Jeff Reine-Adelaide was in line for a call up to the first team, due to his fantastic performances with Arsenal during pre-season, as well as his game time with the Under 21’s last year.

Arsenal previously gave a hint that he may be in line for some first team action, with the Gunners including the Frenchman in the starting line up of their opening preseason friendly. Adelaide has since been confirmed as being a member of the Arsenal USA tour and Adelaide was seen regularly training with the first team prior to the first match against Lens. It now seems that Arsenal have dropped their latest hint that promoting Adelaide is Wenger’s intention, with the young talent no longer featuring in the Arsenal Under 21 squad list. Instead it is highly anticipated that Adelaide will soon have his name and face on the list for the Arsenal first team and hopefully that way, Gooners will be able to see much more of a player that is very highly rated at the club.

Although I don’t expect Adelaide to play a major role in the upcoming season, it would be interesting to see him perform as backup to Ozil and Cazorla in that CAM position on the pitch. I’m also sure that Adelaide will feature in some, if not most, of Arsenal’s matches in domestic competitions like the FA CUP and League Cup. Reine Adelaide would then spend the rest of his time away from the first team linking up with the under 21’s in order to ensure that his development continues to rise in the hands of those at Arsenal. If not a loan could be in place for the young Frenchman.

Would you like to see Adelaide feature more for the Gunners next season? He certainly seems to have the potential to become a very good player for Arsenal, for many years to come.

  1. He will but most probably playing league and FA cup with the occasional cameos in EPL. One thing, what a gem we have in Holding! It just oozes confidence all over the box. Bielik is a bit like Chambers but don’t forget the guy is only 18. Nevertheless pretty solid performance regardless of the mistake which led to the goal. Other impressive performance is this Willock, absolutely pure class. I pretty much enjoyed the game once the young guns came in.

  2. Walcott was terrible today. Definitely not worth £140,000.
    Xhaka was really good

Most of defenders played well today Bellerin, Monreal, Coquelin, Holding, Chambers, Bielik

However, we can’t judge Holding, Bielik and Chambers on one match. Especially a friendly with so many substitutions
I saw a little bit of sloppiness
And you can not avoid the fact that they are inexperienced
This will show over the course of several matches
Its VITAL that Wenger gets an experienced CB before the season starts

It will be a Huge, Foolish mistake if Wenger doesn’t get one

    1. My opinion, Theo existence will be the reason that we are not going to sign Mahrez. Ten years at the club but still can’t reach his potential. This should be simple. Sell him, and include the refund to get Mahrez. Come on Arsene use your brain!…

      1. I will go further. After ten years he is just getting worse and is worth less money now.

I don’t blame Arsenal for keeping him some years ago – he had so much promise and his pace frightened defenders. But that was then and this recent contract for 140,000 a week was just utter lunacy. Can someone explain what he has done to warrant that kind of money???

It is not worth it to keep him for the 1 game in 20 when he looks good. It is time for Walcott to find a new club even if Arsenal have to take a loss on the deal. He is dragging the club ever downward.

  3. There was no pressure on Arsenal.
The MLS offense was slower than a
drunk over 60’s team at Hackney Marshes.
Nothing to report really but hopefully
some fitness and no new injuries.

  4. # Daragunov and others
Last summer I summer few clips Adelaide and few Arsenal friends that Wenger is talent killer for not using him and Campbell more often. Now I see what I see what I saw last year. Here the best way to utilize these young talents to ensure fast and steady development towards top class plans player.
    1. Use them for FA, LEAGUE Cup, and majority of EPL games of the teams below 10(11 to 20), at home, and mix them up 60-40 with seniors. This gives gives enough game time to learn from the pro, and adap to the real game situation.
    2. Sell all those dead woods which proven that that are not going any where, like Wallcott, Ox(injury prone), Gibbs, Wellback(Injury prone), Jenkinson, Debuchy while you can cash on them.
    3. Buy Maharez, Santybis getting younger, Keep tooth and nail with Campbell and give him much more game time, and a 50 + Striker even if you sell sell Giroud..
