Lacazette NOT free for Arsenal despite Lyon striker buy

Some Arsenal fans have been hoping that our transfer pursuit of the France international forward Alexandre Lacazette would be free to go ahead now that his current club Lyon have completed the signing of another striker this week, but I am afraid to say that this does not look to be the case after all.

The Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas had been trying to get Arsene Wenger to agree to the transfer of our own French striker Olivier Giroud the other way if Lacazette was going to become a Gunner, but after the French club signed the young forward Bertrand Traore from Chelsea they were still hoping to get Giroud.

Aulas has admitted that Lyon have now given up on our striker, reports the Evening Standard, but not because they do not now need him but because he knows that Arsene Wenger is not willing to sell.

So it appears that the youngster from Stamford Bridge is not seen as a replacement for Lacazette and so we still need Lyon to find a replacement for Lacazette before Arsenal can hope to seal the deal. With the pre-season training and foreign trips not far away, is this transfer hunt already dragging on too long and what should Wenger do?

  1. The Transfer depends currently on weather Alexis stays or not, if he stays we can only buy but Lemar and Lacazette, if he leaves, We are looking to get Mbappe or Antony Martial with both Lemar and Lacazette which Mbappe deal looks impossible right now. Lyon President is not slowing our transfer down but rather Sanchez deal does. But why is Wenger not looking the way of Aubameyang?….is it because he’s African and he will go for bi-annual tournament when we need him most around January?, or is it because of is age 28? or because his transfer fee is too much £65 million? or because he won’t fit our pattern of play? or he doesn’t have a resell value? Please help me ask Wenger why he’s not keen on Aubameyang

    1. He’s not keen on Aubameyang, because he’s a top player. And Wenger is not really accustomed to buying top players. He likes the rough diamonds, so he can say ” I created him” .
He’s not keen on Aubameyang because the goals at Arsenal have changed. He no longer needs to chase the top 4. Top 5 is more than enough for his boss, so why buy the top players, when you can cruise to the top 5 place with bang average ones?
If you don’t think that’s what’s up at Arsenal, just wait for May 2018 to see where we stand on the table.

      1. The question you should be asking is why aren’t other clubs in for him since his a top striker and there are teams looking for a new striker e.g Chelsea and some other clubs. There’s more to it that you and I don’t know about.

  2. because most teams we play in the Premier League have eleven men behind the ball in the box pierre-emerick aubameyang needs space and room to run into that he score his goals he is not physically strong he is not a great header of the ball not good at hold up play his style doesn’t fit big teams that is why he is still playing for Borussia Dortmund he is two expensive

    1. Thank You
Someone who has actually watched him play instead of just looking at stats.
      We’ll said

  3. Please can we just stop calling the name “aulas”? He thinks he’s clever…. Reading this morning that he’s not allowing Lacazette leave till January WTF!!!. Wenger please don’t embarrass us like the card deal last summer…. Move on to better strikers deals.

    1. Lacazette wanted to go to Atletico and their transfer ban finishes in January. Lyon have already hinted that they would prefer to sell to a direct rival (PSG) than to Arsenal, so talking of letting him go in January would suggest they would also prefer he went to Spain instead of coming here.

Kind of makes you think that the deal might go belly up, so, yes I would say that Wenger is taking too long, giving Lyon too much time to consider alternatives.
Up the bid and get it done or give up and find someone else.

  4. This Aulas guy though, he’s pretty annoying. he prefers to strengthen a rival, then sell abroad??, funny really.
besides, what’s up with lacazette?, cuz if he really wants to come, aulas won’t be saying all this crap!,
