Last chance for Arsenal to find form for Man City in FA cup

Even if Arsenal manage to beat Middlesborough in our Premier League away game tomorrow, I do not rate our chances of getting another top four finish this season, which will make it one of the most disappointing in the two decades with Arsene Wenger in charge.

Even worse for our under fire manager and his under pressure players, however, would be the failure to win the FA cup trophy to give us Gooners at least something to celebrate, but unless things turn around pretty damn fast I cannot see us even getting to the final in May.

Next Sunday sees Arsenal take on the Man City of Pep Guardiola in the semi-final and while the Gunners are in one of our worst periods in terms of form and confidence, the men from Manchester have just started to hit a rich vein of form, highlighted by their second half display at Southampton yesterday.

After three draws and a loss in the Premier League and a Champions League exit to boot, City were in a similar situation to us but they have now won their last two games scoring three goals in each. So it is not just Premier League points that Wenger and Arsenal need tomorrow, but a display that will bring back some confidence and find some much needed for for Arsenal as we prepare for a match with Man City that could be the last chance of rescuing something from this sad season.

  1. Kolasinac father says no AFC deal, and Milan are front runners. Should have listened to some who said I would wait til announced, why do we get this every season. I just finished saying how I like us acting fast for a change and beating teams to a player, just great!!!

    1. TBH that doesn’t bother me, if we had signed him it would mean wenger is staying so I’m clinging onto hope winger is off

    2. @Breaking-into-a- sweat.
Surely Wenger never misses out on a freebie? ?

Style of Play/ Strengths and Weaknesses:
Known for his defensive abilities, Kolasinac is a versatile player who started his career as a centre back. He can also play as a CDM or on the left side of the midfield and is a player who can play genuinely in more than one position. But he is at his best at left-back, a position that allows him to sit back and defend but also gives him a chance to have an effect at the other end.
Strong in the air and with exceptional ability to think on his feet, Kolasinac never shies away from a challenge and he is sure to improve the defence of any squad that he walks into. His physical strength makes him a perfect fit for the Premier League while his pace on the flank, allows him to get the better of opponents.
He has to improve his shooting and his long range passing if he wants to be the best in Europe but at the moment, Kolasinac can solve the problems that are evident at the Emirates.

How will he fit in at Arsenal?
The Gunners have the likes of Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs in this position and neither player is expected to play regularly next season. Monreal is 31, and may not play for a long time while Gibbs has not been trusted in the first team this season by Wenger.

So, it does not come as a surprise that Arsenal have taken the initiative and have reportedly signed Kolasinac. His physical approach will add mettle to the back line for the Gunners, while his creativity can make them a better team in attack.

  2. Bob I can predict your posts before the actually read them.

We may all as well Get used to falling down the table
The owner doesn’t care, if he doesn’t give a shot about clubs in his own country he won’t give a sh#t about Arsenal
There’s only 3 ways of attracting BIG players to your club
    Champions League NO
offer them silly money Nope that’s not happening
    Or a Top manage errr

Ok looks like we couldn’t spend 200m if we wanted to , I can’t wait for the ” what we have to spend ” BS
    So you muppets but tickets

  3. Wow, I can already hear the Arsenal faithful in full voice for tomorrow nights game.?? and it goes a little something like this..
    ??? I don’t fit, I don’t fit, I don’t fit an Arsenal shirt ?
    ? I don’t fit inside an Arsenal shirt?.. ? .. Oh.. Wait! ?

  4. Sorry, out of point but did you see Morinho use teenagers and small boys to destroy Chelsea today, that was what Lord Wenger couldn’t while we were busy complaining that he was not getting desired results because he’s using teenagers. With the right tutelage, motevation and winning mentality. Arsenal has what it takes to win big. They just can’t do it with Wenger in charge.

  5. We probably will beat Middlesbrough, because rubbish, out of form teams, are all we can beat these days. Even IF we beat Boro, how would that relate to finding any kind of form?

  6. imagine spurs wins the league and we are out of even europa… these are bad days… now we will see how hard it is to attract talent w a 6-7th place team… death spiral,

  7. I’m reading loads about wages of Sanchez and Ozil, will they go, who will come in…etc…thats all utter nonsense in the BiG scheme of things. Whether they stay or go makes no difference if Wenger stays. They will simply be wasting another twelve months of their lives, albeit earning substantial money.

And so, let’s not skirt around the edges, distracting ourselves on side issues. Lets do what Wenger and the board are incapable of doing and be proactive in making Wengers decision to leave ours and not theirs
Mediocrity will continue to be the norm with Wenger in charge
Wenger is violating the Natural Law of Football
