Let us celebrate Theo Walcott – Ten years at Arsenal and 100 goals

This week can’t go by without a special mention for Theo Walcott, who became the 18th Arsenal player to reach 100 goals for the Gunners in their history, so it is not a regular occurrence by any means!

Theo has come in for a lot of stick over the years for his misses and his seemingly endless list of injuries, but the fact is that he has played 370 games for the club and has scored more than a goal every four games despite being a winger for 95% of his career. We have to give the man some credit surely.

Theo himself seems surprised at his achievement and admits that he never thought he would join such a select club. “No, not really,” Theo said on Arsenal.com. “I always wanted to put my all in, hard work, but never really [expected to] be in that category of 100 goals for Arsenal.

“It’s great. I’m lost for words to be fair because I didn’t really think about it before and it’s just happened. It’ll probably hit me in a few days I’m sure, but I really enjoyed that.

“I’m really proud of that personal achievement of mine. Especially playing out wide, to get that many goals… I don’t want it to stop now. It’s a really good achievement, I’m really happy.

“I couldn’t have done it without the guys as well, past and present, and I can’t thank them enough, all the players I’ve played with up to this point, and this group is brilliant. That’s a special moment for myself personally.”

Whatever your personal feelings about the guy, you can’t deny he has been a real servant to Arsenal Football Club, and we should give him the right to celebrate the fact. Agreed?

  1. Congrats to Theo
I think Giroud is a few goals from 100 too
I think he has scored over 90 total goals for us in 5 seasons and nearly 70 PL goals

  2. Big ups to Walcott, he may break Henry’s record if he can play on for another 10 years ??

    OT:
Arsenal ready to sell Alexis Sanchez to Real Madrid for huge fee: Swap deal could happen according to sensational reports from Spain.
Don Balon say the Gunners would be prepared to accept a deal worth £85m for the Chilean superstar in the summer.
Real are extremely interested in Sanchez and they might have an ace up their sleeve to get the deal done at a cut-price fee and that’s Morata plus £45 million.

Apparently Sanchez wants £300,0000 a week to renew his contract and Arsenal are only willing to offer £200,000.

  3. His been a real servant to Arsenal because he knows he couldn’t have gone to a bigger club since his been here. If Arsenal ever get rid of him it won’t be to a better team or equivalent but a smaller team. He is lucky that a camera man failed to follow him all those years ago when he was in Southampton. Arsenal snapped him up because of that.

He wouldn’t have even stayed at Southampton for another 10 years if Arsenal didn’t get him. They would’ve sold him of already.

Same thing will happen to Ramsey he will get 10 years, that’s if Wenger is in charge until then, even Ox.

  4. Good servant yes but 100 goals in 10 years no matter his injury record is just not good enough.Alexis has more than 60 in 2 seasons at the club. Prolific has not been and progress neither. As someone else said, Theo would have been shipped away by another coach long ago with the likes of Ramsey, gibbs, wilshere too but with Dad Wenger they will remain for another 5 more like Wenger’s contract. Sentimentalism have been one of the causes we have not progressed.

  5. I think its 100 goals in 11year not 10years.
Regardless, He’s done a great job by scoring 100 though it took him forever to reach the milestone.

  6. Looking at theo its a shame but the guy has regressed instead of improving. Theo used to make beautiful run in behind the defence and his cross was awsome(i remember how rvp used to bang them into the nets). Looking at him now those runs in behind are not as good as they used to be. Even worse his final cross has been so poor i wonder what happened to him. Congrats to him for reaching the milestone.

  7. 100 goals in ten years, that was 10 goals a year in average. That’s not good stats by any mean. I don’t know where exactly Theo rank among Henry, RVP, Kanu, Bergkamp, Wiltord, or even Giroud. But I bet he’s in the bottom list. Sad but true. Anyway, congrats Theo for….err…I don’t know.

  8. 100 goals in ten years ??? Woo hoo let’s pop the champaign corks
Should have sold the lazy little sh!t three years ago !!! Works out at about 100 grand a goal

  9. Theo Was supposed or tipped as Thiery Henry’s replaced but sadly he could not live to the task, as the shoes were far too large for him to fill. Even though he managed to get a 100, his career at the club is nothing to what was expected.
