Let’s be honest, Arsenal were rubbish against CSKA!

Pathetic Arsenal again, but not surprising at all. by Konstantin Mitov

Well, if Arsene doesn’t make it difficult out of nothing it just wouldn’t be him. I am so hoping, Wenger and Wilshere are out of this football club this summer.

I was happy to see Wilshere subbed, because he was shocking for like the 10th game in a row and I do not understand what the hype around him is. He is an average footballer at best and is a shame for the number 10 shirt. Jack probably lost the ball more times than anybody on the pitch.

Moving on, I will only make one comment on the defence, and that is that all four at the back plus the keeper need to be replaced. I like Monreal, but his age is a problem and he was peppered on the night. The rest need little mentioning.

You can see the difference in intensity between the Champions League and the Europa. After watching Juventus put the most astonishing comeback I’ve ever seen AWAY to the Champions of Europe, before being robbed by the incapability of an English ref to make a proper decision, watching our game in Russia felt like a third tier game and so it was.

The fact that we can limp to the semis with performances like this is shocking. Any of the teams left in the quarter finals of the Champions League would’ve eaten us for breakfast with such performances. It literally took us one piece of good football between Elneny and Welbeck to kill off the game.

Those two were the only players who played with some desire, not just barely running around and it was a stunning goal. It was interesting to see Lacazette subbed, but honestly he had little impact on the game.

As little as anybody else to be honest, but Iwobi didn’t make much of his chance 1:1 either. What’s happening to him? There is talent there and he gets into positions and then it’s like he’s scared to shoot. The lack of confidence is clear and there is only one person to blame for this.

Arsene Wenger has lost everything from the fans to the dressing room. It would be the most irrational and illogical decision to keep him for another year, yet it’s the most likely thing to happen.

If the board dare to come out in his defense yet another time, the Emirates will be completely empty next season. The problem here is not this game in particular, it’s the fact that every away game in the league has been a massive struggle, we’re sixth, we don’t know the future of a bunch of key players and we’re playing some of the worst football in our entire history, which still has over 100 years before a deluded Frenchman took over.

We’re going to the semis and Atletico will finally be a decent opposition and looking at our play, it’ll be very difficult. I just don’t understand what are saving ourselves for? We’re trying to catch Chelsea or something? It matters little if we are 5th or sixth, but winning the Europa actually means going back to the elite, although on that performance I really don’t wanna see us play the likes of Bayern, cause we’d lose 5:1 again. Wenger out people. We’re hardly beating Atletico over 2 legs….

  1. Copy paste repeat…. same author same negative tone … yawn!

Those would prefer us to lose just to get Wenger out are not true supporters….

Lets all try to support the club ….COYG

        1. Too true I enjoy the game and the better the team we play the more fun I’m excited to play a good team

      There is no negativity here.
konstatin is just telling it like it is.
      Thats the damn truth.

      1. But. the ref (Michael Oliver) got the penalty decision right. So Juve were not robbed. Pray what was the Juve defender Benatia doing pushing and kicking Vasquez on the chest in the penalty box?

        1. It was a soft penalty. Giving them makes no sense and ruins football. Ref do change the outcome of the game way to often. Same with us in the finale. Lehman deserved the red, but the ref could play the game on and Giuly could have scored his goal without the need of a red card.

          1. Soft penalty means it was a penalty. However he clearly break the rules so it was not even soft penalty. I still don’t get the discussion here. Read the rules. Only thing that could be different is buffons red card it was more of a orange, but justified red tho if he gave him yellow it would be also okay from rules perspective.

            1. Yes but to many teams are constantly trying to cheat the ref in making hasty decisions. It was a pen. but i would be not surprised if he would not give that. If refs would would punish divers more often discussion like this would never happen.

              1. I agree. They should punish divers more definitely. I am always angry and I am glad arsenal don’t do it much.

    2. Fans who are obsessed with the manager and hold him higher then the club are no true fans. You guys are so childish. Grow the f up!

      1. fans who are obsessed with their agenda and put it first before everything aren’t fans my friend.

    3. You arrogant fool! Who are you to decide what and who are true supporters? You should apologise for insulting thousands of us! You don’ t EVEN understand the DIFFERENCE between supporting a poor and regressing team going backwards and supporting a club badly needing new blood to run it.

      1. Calling him an arrogant fool, is really rather unnecessary and just about sums you up. Well done, note to all please don’t argue with Jon he has all the answers and obviously in his world knows best.

        1. Who made you the mom of this forum to tell others who to avoid and what you can say and say not?

    4. Lol. You can preach positivity when our current crop gets to final. Otherwise there is no reason for it and this seemingly negative article becomes a realistic one. Let’s see shall we

  2. We’ve been rubbish all season and we’ll continue to be while this manager is in charge. Now tell me I’m not a real fan, 25 years on the terraces and 35 years a season ticket holder and still am.

    1. Big difference between being disappointed and upset at the poor performances (as we all are !!) and being constantly negative ..
for him to say a comment like before the deluded Wenger took over is just pure negativity! Wenger won the double, is record holder for FA Cup wins and managed the invincible season… yes that was a decade ago and not won league since but the rhetoric has to stop between AOB and AKB as its tearing the club apart !
We are all Arsenal fans first !
Kenny… are you saying you would prefer us to lose semi finals ? I am sure deep down whatever your feelings for Wenger you would want Arsenal to do every game surely?

      1. Neil, believe me, I want us to win every game and was a massive fan of Wenger 10 years ago but his methods are outdated now and sadly he’s killing his wonderful legacy by the day. Every manager comes to the end one day, even going back to people like Shankly, Busby and Jock Stein. The trouble with is with Wenger is that he just doesn’t know when to quit.

    2. Kenny , Well said. I told this young and arrogant whippersnapper who knows little about how true fans act and think, to apologise. It won’t happen though, as it takes a real MAN to apologise and admit when they are wrong and out of order.

      1. ‘Arrogant whippersnapper’ wow you’re on fire today, try ignorant older generation and see if that fits anyone, probably no one on here surely……..

  3. You are spot on concerning Wilshere.I,m surprised the offer of a new contract has not been withdrawn. It’s not often I find myself agreeing with Roy Keane but on this occasion he is correct. His contribution to the team lately has been negligible. Why does Wenger c continue to select him?

  4. we’re not that good of a team. This is true. But we got the job done. At this point it’s just about getting by and then hopefully next season we can start anew. In many different ways.

  5. Elneny got the UEFA player of the week. Arsenal had a bad/ugly game but got the job done. Ramsey scored again. Mkhit is going to be fit for the next leg. Danny is looking like a half decent third option lately. Aubameyang is looking golden boot material. Arsenal have money to spend and are offering the wages these days. Manc look nothing like Invincibles and was an insult to our great memory. Arsenal are in a European semi final. Nelson is signing a new contract despite Barca and others showing an interest. Chambers has hardly put a foot wrong and is looking promisingly strong. There are other topics besides Arsene and what I think was poor.

  6. Konstantin got everything spot on those who want wenger out are speaking for the love of the club. We are financially sound and are geared up to be challenging for major trophies but we won’t do it with wenger

    1. Well said! So many on here confuse, in their ignorance, positive desire for desperately needed change , with negativity. It is actually positivity and the negative ones are those who continue to fool themselves that this Wenger team is the best thing since sliced bread and that this team without even ONE proper defender can beat a team way ahead of Real Madrid in their league. That is a triumph of hope over experience and a clear case of ostrich like, burying their heads in the sand.

  7. Oliver was spot on with the penalty, and the sending off. Not sure why you think he made a mistake?

      1. I agree with you both, as with the positivity for the future of Break-on-through.
Also I hope jon fox wins his bet on a change of manager. Arsene, thanks for the memories, but its time to say goodbye; hopefully after Arsenal win the Europa League.
If Arsenal turn up and are good enough for the semi final over two legs and final in Lyon we win, if not we don’t. It’s that simple, or difficult which ever way you look at it!

  8. I’m not sure why there are still some people who think staying away from matches and telling truth about how the team performed, are act of negativity.

There is no way to hide the crack. It is there for all to see. The way the team played, is nothing but poor.

Nothing changes until the old fool goes… and Kroenke too, hopefully.

    1. Jeremy, Please read my post above saying the same as you and about the key understanding of what positivity actually IS. It seems to me that so many, being tribal by nature, never engage their brains when thinking that objectivity, perspective and rightful intent to remove Wenger from our club iis negative, when it is clearly BEING POSITIVE. Frankly, I often despair of the lack of intelligence or even an inability to think dispassionately and sensibly, shown by so many football fans, everywhere, which holds back our clubs necessary change and progress (and others too, but we need not concern ourselves with those clubs on THIS site). Tribalism is a key part of supporting any club BUT when it stands in the way of common sense, it becomes the enemy of the club and, by definition, those who reject common sense, also become our club’s enemies.

      1. Look, my view is that if Arsenal win the Europa then Arsene deserves another year. Something must be going right. But if not, then adieu.

      2. Jon, I pity those poor fellas here who can’t see the truth.

They can say what they wanted but the truth is fans are annoyed and the stadium is becoming empty. It’s reality.

    2. they are the fans who keep wenger in and Arsenal irrelevant. We’ll keep seeing much more of Europa League with Wenger in charge. But too many Arsenal fans are scared of what will happen to the club with AW gone. When you should be scared what will happen if AW remains!

  9. Barcelona lost a 3 goal lead and crashed out; Madrid was rescued by a last minute penalty at home despite a comfortable 3 goal lead away; Lazio lost a 2 goal lead and got eliminated; the “Almighty Athletico” (according to Wenger haters) nearly got eliminated at Lisbon succombing to a defeat; and another monster that would destroy Arsenal if we ever were unfortunate to meet them, Leipzig, was thrashed by Marseille yet it is Arsenal that secured a 2-2 draw and qualified for the next round that should be hanged. Don’t even mention that Dortmund that was hyped as one of our potential destroyers could not make it to this round.

I am sick of the intellectually shallow Konstantine and his acolytes like jon fox on this site. If they ever had any valuable knowledge of football management/administration they would be employed by professional clubs rather than ranting daily on Justarsenal (I am certain, they would earn loads of money and recognition from football than they currently do in whatever employment they are in).

Wenger has his shortcomings, like every other football manger, but reading from nobodies about how they know better than him about football is laughable. League titles and cups in France, Japan and England (the last of which is less than a year) cannot be rubbished by online warriors who have nothing of note about them in any walk of life.

Deal with it: Wenger is at Arsenal not because he can’t be sacked, but because like Ferguson, he has achieved so much for his employers and left indelible legacies on football. He would one day leave, just like Ferguson, but not at the request of Konstantine, jon fox or what other faceless online deluded fellow.

    1. and we were told that AC Milan will trash us.
I may want Arsene to go but I will be happy if my club should win the trophy.

    2. The reason Wenger is around is bec he makes money. With little investments he archive max profit. Arsenal is a money place meant to earn money and not archive football success. This is the reason he is still here. A proper team would never hire a manager in Wenger. Let alone give him 10mil a year for doing what exactly. Manage for his life and compete with CSKA? haha/

Never ever mention Ferguson and Wenger in the same line. The gap between them is just way to great.

    3. Well written, I am of the opinion that it’s time for change but this relentless attack on the man that has done so much for the club is I’m afraid rather sad.

    4. TW14, A good try but in a month or 6 weeks Wenger will be sacked and your post will look pretty stupid in the light of events soon to come. He has not won the title for 15 years , nor seriously challenged , for ten years. Ask yourself what other big club would indulge the manager in this way. You know the answer is none! Yet you call those with of our fans with ambition(which is the vast majority) bad names. Well go ahead , if it makes you tick, because we who want him out are about to get our way, making you look really stupid.

      1. BTW, it IS 15 YEARS from 2004 to 2019, even if in flying pig land , he were to stay here and win it next season.

    5. One of the most feeble comments ive read on this site
you need to get your head out your ass bro.
this club as gone backwards every year for the last 10 years.please stop with this wenger love in .yes he did well in his 1st 10 years but now …………………

    6. Ferguson left with Utd still challenging for the title, And within the 12 years of Wenger had not he was. You telling me Ferguson would still be in a job if he had not won the title in 12 years and were regressing utter rubbish. Arsenal FC Remember not Arsene FC.

  10. Atletico m. are fav due of them being actually a Cl team, being in the second place behind Barcelona and in-front of Cl fav Real. m. where we are in the 6th place, far away from Man City. So this means that we belong here where we are with the likes of CSKA.

I can see us beating Atletico, but i can see us also lose in the finale. This is what Arsenal is all about. Being in Cl means nothing to us as we don’t have a team to compete yet. A proper team with a proper manager.

  11. Konstantin, In your penultimate paragraph you correctly outline the problem. But you STILL, and wrongly, IMO, believe the club will not sack him this summer. I have put substantial momey on him going this summer and fully expect to win. I THOUGHT YOUR JUDGEMENT WAS USUALLY BETTER THAN THIS, BY ALL YOUR PRVIOUS ARTICLES. Ask yourself why you believe, in effect, a multi billuionaire would risk the correctly stated empty(ish) stadium regularly happening next season. This will vastly reduce the value of his asset. Think again friend and then ask yourselves WHY billionaires stay rich. It is not by making suicidal financial decisions , for sure!

  12. If Wenger really knows, will we be in 6th and slipping for years?
If Wenger really knows, will we be crushed 5-1 by Bayern?
If Wenger really knows, will we be losing so many games against top sides?
    The list goes on….

I was once a believer of Wenger knows, like many before.

Don’t tell me how our opponents fare. We are once a mighty side which all teams fear. The slide was horrendous, we will have to accept it before we can move on.

But now is Wenger really don’t knows…

  13. For the first time, I am highly dissatisfied by Kostatin article on this site.
How can you call out team performance rubbish when we rose up to the challenge when needed most?
Such performance can only boost confidence of the team.
Did you notice that almighty Bayern Munich could not smashed Sevilla as many envisaged?
Barcelona with Messi, Iniesta, Suarez, etc were put to sword by Roma – a team that I believe is not better than us anyway .
At quarter finals upward of any competition, maturity and steadiness is the most important tool to be champion.

……And for your comments on referee Oliver awarding a penalty to Real Madrid, it takes a referee with real balls (cojones if you love Troy Deneey) to call a spade a spade without minding whose ox is gored.
It was a penalty: 2 hands-push on the back of Vazquez, a leg thrown missed the ball and landed on Vazquez chest, only for Buffon to benefit from the imbroglio to save the ball instead of picking it from his net.
Put Arsenal in Madrid position, then you will understand better. Juventus lost the match from 1st leg. QED

    1. Or it could be called JUST GET WENGER OUT AS HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB BEING IN THE EMBARRASSING POSITION OF SIXTH PLACE IN THE PREMIERE LEAGUE AND ONLY JUST GETTING THROUGH OUR EUROPA LEAGUE QUARTER FINAL AGAINST A VERY AVERAGE RUSSIAN OPPONENT WHO WERE CLOSE TO KNOCKING US OUT OF THIS SECOND RATE TOURNAMENT THAT WENGER GOT US INTO AFTER FINISHING IN FIFTH PLACE IN THE PREMIERE LEAGUE LAST SEASON.

Something short and snappy like that.

  14. Oh and if fans are afraid of Athletico than please tell me why you want Arsenal in the champions league, a league that has far more difficult teams than just Athletico Madrid. You want to be the best than beat the best it’s not rocket science.
