Man City boss RIGHT to worry about Arsenal backlash

Things are in a worse state for Arsenal Football Club right now then they have been in a long time, with Arsene Wenger and all the Arsenal players under pressure and in the spotlight for the recent performances and results, so perhaps this will turn out to be the season when the Gunners finally fail to earn a Champions League place.

However, they do not call the top four the Wenger trophy for nothing, even if it is meant as a put down to our manager and the lack of silverware the last decade has seen Arsenal win. We have been in situations like this one before, too many times if truth be told, and the team has always responded to get us back where we need to be by the time the season ends.

In fact, some of our best results and matches have come when the pressure has been at it’s height, such as last season after consecutive games saw us knocked out of the FA cup at home by Watford and then out of the Champions League by Barcelona with the Premier League title hopes already over, but we then bounced back with a good win over Everton and ended the season pipping Tottenham to the runners up spot.

Another notable example was a few years ago when the team were in a bad period and expected to get another pasting away to Bayern Munich, only to beat the Germans and be the first side all season to do so. So the Man City boss Pep Guardiola has good reason to warn his players about what a dangerous opponent they could face on Sunday, as reported by Sky Sports.

Pep Guardiola said, “When you lose a lot of games it is a more dangerous moment to face them. I would prefer Arsenal to be winning a lot.

“They are so professional, Arsene is so professional and the Arsenal players as well. They want to win every game, so I don’t think it is a big problem.

“Everybody knows them. Huge quality in the middle, quality in the sides with Alexis [Sanchez], go inside with perfect runs in behind with [Theo] Walcott, [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain. Good quality. Arsenal is a top team.

“When Arsene starts to win, the fans will be happy again, I promise you, 100 per cent. The fans respect what Arsene has done and is doing, whatever the bosses decide, I’m sure it will be the best for Arsenal.”

Apart from the last bit maybe, do you agree with Pep about Arsenal being a wounded animal ready to strike back at Man City?
