Man City striker expects tough game against Arsenal

Pep Guardiola’s team have struggled for the points lately, having lost top scorer Sergio Aguero and top assister Fernandinho to bans during Man City’s defeat to Chelsea, and they followed that up with another defeat to Leicester last weekend. But they finally got back to winning ways in their midweek game at Watford, and Aguero’s replacement up front, Nolito, was happy to get the points but wary about facing Arsenal next.

He said: “You always need to win after several games where you didn’t get the three points at home,”

“It was difficult, but it was important to get the three points and now we think of Arsenal.

“It will be a hard game but I guess Arsenal will come and try to get the three points, as that is their philosophy of football. It is also ours, so we will have to see who gets the points. It’s difficult because they are rivals in the title race.”

There has been much said about the way that Guardiola is trying to change the style of the team to play his way, and Nolito thinks there is still room for improvement. “Obviously we are all behind him (Guardiola) and follow what he says,” he added. “The best is yet to come.

“The last few results have also been because we played against other teams who were also very good. It’s always tough, and always depends as much on the other team you play.”

Well you are coming up against another top team on Sunday mate, so you have every reason to be worried! Surely if Chelsea and Leicester can beat them, then surely we have a good chance as well?

  1. Yes don’t just play Walcot and OX together for this game. Play Perez – Sanchez – OX/Iwobi as front 3 this time.

  2. 9 points behind before we even kick a ball tomorrow + UTD closing the gap behind us = Nothing but 3 points against Man City will do.
