Mbappe? Wenger may as well as say Arsenal want Messi

So in the latest thrilling bit of Arsenal transfer news, if you are the sort of person who believes in Santa Claus, the tooth fairy or Theo Walcott when he talks about fighting spirit, we hear in a Sky Sports report from Arsene Wenger the confirmation that the highly sought after Monaco star Kylian Mbappe is one of our transfer targets.

The boss said, “Obviously it would be hypocritical and a lie to say that we are not looking at him.

“But he’s already in the bracket of clubs who are, perhaps, much better financed than us.”

In other news, I am looking to build a time machine and go back to the 60s to shack up with the young Sophia Loren. Which of these two is the most unlikely to happen might seem obvious, with my plan having at least two big obstacles in the way, but I would not put any more money on Arsenal signing this highly priced and much sought after striker.

Not because of what Wenger suggested, that we cannot compete with the other big clubs who want him, but because we won’t even try. The closest Arsenal will get to the transfer of Mbappe is to rent a house near his agent and peek through the curtains as the representatives of teams like Chelsea, Man City, United and Real Madrid call round.

Even if I am very much mistaken and the Arsenal board and manager do make a real effort on this transfer, which they won’t, imagine what an ambitious, up and coming player with the potential to be one of the best in the world would say to joining an Arsenal team that is struggling to even tread water and has to suffer annual humiliation in both the Premier League and Champions League competitions.

By all means Arsene, look at Mbappe, but unless you are going to actually try to sign him or make Arsenal an enticing option for such players, do us a favour and keep it to yourself would you?

Bob.

  1. Wenger is horrible in his Transfer Market Business over the years… He always chase a player which can’t be recruited and funny thing about it he always knew before chasing a player he is not gonna get him… He waste all three 3 of Transfer Window by chasing unrealistic targets and leave which are bargain buys in the market… RVP was again available from Mam Utd for just 3 Millions… Fenebarche paid just 3 Millions for RVP…. Erikson from Tottenham was linked for whole year and Wenger didn’t bargain properly for him and then Tottenham just hijacked the deal and now you can see how he is beast…. Frustrating Wenger…

  2. Mbappe?

    .
Honestly if wenger could get this guy (this summer) , i’d give him one more day at Arsenal……. OTherwise, he should pack his things this minute and Leave…..

    1. Even if he sign Ronaldo, Messi, Ramos, Matuidi, Nueur and lewadolski. Am not sparing him a single day.

  3. It’s not just about the players he gets or he is getting.. It’s about Wenger changing his tactics and know He has past it. I mean.. Suddenly we are changing tactics because we are under pressure (top four) and after a series of bad result. Imagine what would have happened if we started this change in formation months ago. Anyway, that’s medicine after death.

I m a huge fan of Wenger. I just think We should win the FA cup for him while he leaves but I sense he will stay. If he does stay, then he needs to be flexible and apply the right tactics and motivate his players.

    1. now he has 2 formations, it’ll take another 58 years to realize these 2 does not work and change to something else, but till then humiliation will take it’s toll at the highest level.

    2. And he needs to stop waiting for the last hour to make transfer deals…it makes no sense, because clubs see his anxiety at the last minute and increase the prices, leaving him no option but to pay higher…when he could have spent cheaper just a few weeks ahead…and he needs to stop players from shooting..many shooters have come to arsenal and have been made redundant in this regard…simply put last 3games have been as a result of shots..even messi is a shoter what more our average players

  4. Arsene come now say it you are staying put for another 10 years it was always going to be the safest bet on the planet. I am fed up with the Groundhog Day scenario we go through each year only for Arsene to say we will come back fighting stronger next season. If it was any other manager they would have been sacked ages ago.

  5. Fml Wenger is just embarrassing himself now what a fool. Fair enough you have to answer the questions put forward but why not give the same answer to when you are asked about your contract. ‘I am fully focused on the team and take each game at a time’

  6. Please wenger don’t buy mbappe. You will ruin him. You will play him out of position or play him then not play him. A player with a price tag like that goes straight into the starting eleven week in, week out from day one. Wenger won’t do that. He should of left years ago. He’s reign was ALWAYS going to end sour as he stayed for too long and people started to lose faith in him,.

  7. Then why did you move the emirates and destroy a winning legacy you input!

Let’s move so we can compete. Move finished – we can’t compete.

    1. I suppose that’s a business decision. You move, earn more, and you have the foundation to compete in the long run.

  8. Can’t compete!

Yeh, because we have no money to invest on the field right Arsene? What happened to us competing with the biggest clubs with the bigg st transfers in the world.

    Prof Excuse

  9. The boss said, “Obviously it would be hypocritical and a lie to say that we are not looking at him.

“But he’s already in the bracket of clubs who are, perhaps, much better financed than us.”

Even the Prof said he does not think he can get Mbappe. Why bother to write an article about this?

Sophia Loren was hot in the 60s though.

  10. If we had signed Mapppe last summer…

He would classified as a cheap buy and not good enough

If we sign him this summer for 120m he willl be known as world class

  11. If we had got Lacazette and Krychowiak over the last two summers it would have been well below £120,000 and we would have had a stronger side.

We still need another top forward and a top dm
