Arsenal’s opening game of the season is extremely important as we aim to keep our winning momentum going strongly. West Ham have had a disrupted start to the season due to their Europa League commitment’s but the Gunners can not write off any team in this League, no matter how small.
So I am betting that Wenger will be starting with the strongest line-up available to him at the moment, which obviously means starting without Alexis Sanchez who has only just returned to training after his Copa America exploits. In fact Wenger thinks he may not even be ready to play until September. Le Prof said last month: “He will be back on August 3 and it usually takes three weeks to be competitive.
“He will miss certainly the first game of the season but with Alexis, it takes a little bit less.”
Due to visa problems, the Chilean won’t actually arrive back in the UK until today, so he may need even more time to prepare. Maybe he’ll be ready for the Liverpool game? Anyway I digress….
We already know that Jack Wilshere, Matthieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky will definitely be excluded along with Alexis, so from the players we have left I think it will be easy to pick our strongest team.
So, as far as I am concerned, Cech, Bellerin, Monreal and Koscielny are certain to start. I also have the belief that Wenger has given Gabriel a little bit of an extra holiday after being at the Copa America, so Mertesacker is pretty much in there by default. This may change in September…
Coquelin doesn’t even bear mentioning as he will start, but I reckon Cazorla will be alongside. Many people think Ramsey should start there but I reckon Cazorla will start until he gets injured.
Ozil is nailed on to be Number Ten (so I’ve heard), and Ramsey and Walcott will be on the wings, while Giroud will be centre-forward. No-one knows better than Wenger that Giroud needs to be needed or it will all go wrong…
This seems to be the best team as far as I’m concerned. Who disagrees?
Giroud should def start, we need Theo on the wing. I would play Theo on the rw and ox on lw with giroud upfront ozil behind them with lecoq and cazorla in the middle. Back four of debuchy per boss and Monreal with cech in goal obviously
im curious to see how wenger beds gabriel into the team this season, i rate him, proper no nonsense defender.

I would be bloody happy if we can get a new DM and striker so we can have competition all around the squad. As far as Gabriel goes I’m certain this is the season which he slowly gets into the first team. He’s a great defender and we paid a good amount of money for him.at the moment I would prefer debuchy over bellerin, bellerin can take over in a year or two.bellerin will get some games but I think debuchy is a better defender
Watching Bayern vs Milan, man Douglas Costa is an outstanding winger. He is simply breathtaking! He was once a target for us, we missed out on one of the best wingers in the world. He’s outstanding

I rate him too, but what chance does he have? His opening contribution was “that tackle” on Lukaku and his all round game made me sure that he would and should easily replace Per. But the big man is clearly a favourite and just gets picked regardless of how many indifferent perfomances he stumbles through.
I would rather see Mr wenger start with our Wembley starting lineup.

I was going to put 7-0 but that would only work, if we didn’t take our foot of the gas. I might be wrong but GD could really be the factor this season.

I think Bellerin extra pace gives us a different dimension so I would keep him in.
Yes but there’s already enough offence in the team so I wud play debuchy to make sure of a tight defence in d opening game. They will rotate thruout the season I guess.
Bellerin to start so he could over lap with Theo and Coq and our defence can cope with their attacks.
PS I want us to rip the bottom half of the EPL apart as I said GD could be massive this season.

I am just looking at pre season did you see how Ramsey played against Lyon. Arsene has got a big headache in team selection I just hope he gets it right.
Rambo is too erratic on the ball damn! Since he wants to play in the middle how on earth will he eliminate Santi??? Theo and Giroud cannot both start, one has to sit to accommodate Rambo

Giroud or Ramsey (The Ox and Walcott will start)

It is pointless to play Giroud and Walcott. Akpom is allegedly going to Hull and Welbeck is not ready yet which leaves us with Zero back up.
It also means a striker is coming. Not Benzema as Real confirmed the Frenchman will not be leaving. The interesting news is that Lacazette has fallen out with Lyon’s manager. He clearly does not want to be there and we MUST beat Spurs to his signing.
