Napoli ready to do Arsenal BIG favour against Man City

With Arsenal facing Man City next in the Premier League, Arsene Wenger and the players could do with any and as much help as they can get in the build up to Sunday’s away day. Not only have Pep Guardiola’s team yet to lose in the league, with just one draw and nine EPL wins so far this season, they are scoring on average more than three goals a game, so we know it is going to be a tough task for the Gunners at the weekend.

However, they are not unbeatable and, let’s be honest, coming back to north London with a point would be a pretty good result for us. Arsenal fans have good reason to be a little optimistic as well, because for once the European midweek games could actually work in our favour.

Yes we have one day fewer to prepare as City play on Wednesday, but they have to travel to Italy for their match while ours is in London. They also need to field a strong side while our manager will surely be ringing the changes as we have the Europa League group firmly in control and the visit of Red Star Belgrade should not provide too much of a test.

Another reason for Arsenal fans to have some hope is that in Napoli, City are facing one o9f the most in form teams in Europe at the minute. They have also not lost in the league, with 10 wins and one draw putting them three points clear of the champions Juventus at the top of Serie A.

Knocking a bit of momentum out of Man City would be a great thing to happen from an Arsenal point of view, so can Napoli do it and give us a big helping hand before the weekend?

    1. Our best bet is to play as we did at Chelski. Disciplined aim for one point (or three if possible). But will Wenger do it ? Despite his advanced years he is sooo obsessively naive. If he tries to play City off their own pitch (or any pitch) we could get taken apart.

  1. Look, anyone can beat anyone else in this league. Pep might play his best players mid week, or he might not. Doesn’t matter though because 3 days is more than enough time for those guys to fully recover. All of them are experience professionals who’ve done many times in the past. As for us, I’m more than confident that Wenger will rest key players of our squad which again could be seen as both advantage or disadvantage. Sometimes players come back from a week or two off, like during the international break, and are a bit rusty. Regardless, we should approach this game tactically and mentally prepared. We have to be solid in the back, and sharp on the counter attacks. We play as a team, and not as bunch of individuals, and we have a very good chance of taking something from this game.

  2. its advantage to city as they play with a big challenger who will raise their rythm. it will be a tough 90 mins for us.

  3. We’re resting majority of the senior players every week and they always have just one good 45 mins. Win, lose or draw city will have players in form against Arsenal.

  4. If Napoli beat Man city then Arsenal will be coming up against wounded lions.

From personal experience, wounded lions are the most dangerous.
