Newcastle v Arsenal review – We simply cannot win away!

Both teams came into this game in good form and it was Newcastle that tried to go for the jugular straight from the kickoff and Arsenal were on the back foot for the first 15 minutes. But there was a reason why Arsene Wenger started both Aubameyang and Lacazette and left them upfield on their own.

It worked perfectly as a brilliant breakaway pass from Mustafi found PEA on the wing, and his centre was perfect for Lacazette to do what he does best and put it in the back of the net. Iwobi got another good chance in the Magpies penalty area and (surprisingly :-]) the ball flew high over the bar.

Newcastle kept the pressure up tho and were not being shy about going for a quick equaliser and it was getting very congested in midfield – with both sides getting close up and personal. Arsenal were having the lions share of possession and had 64% in the first quarter of the game.

Arsenal were looking quite comfortable, but Newcastle came up with a sucker punch when Perez suddenly popped up in the Arsenal box and Newcastle were back in the game!

Just before half time, Lacazette was in a scoring position but instead chose to pass to Aubameyang, who must have been as surprised as us as he scuffed the ball completely and a fantastic chance went begging.

It was all square at half time and it is all to play for in the second period, despite the Gunners having over 70% of the possession….

The first 25 minutes of the second half also carried on with the hogs share of the ball, but they could simply not take advantage, and Newcastle were looking increasingly more confident the longer the game went on, so it was little surprise when Perez was in the Arsenal box on his own again, and gave the ball a little nudge to Ritchie who made no mistake, and the Magpies wwere looking to get their first win against Arsenal for 13 years. For both goals there was very little sight of our so-called defence…

I’m just wondering when the last time Arsenal lost five away games in a row because Newcastle are getting closer and closer to a third goal, and I haven’t heard much mention of our strikers in the last 20 minutes!

I can’t help but feel that there is no spirit in our side at all when we play away from home, and if the Emirates continues being a library with even less seats filled I really can’t see Wenger keeping his job much longer. But we all know that he will be saved by the Europa League at the end of the season. At least it makes a change from the FA Cup!

As usual Arsenal start putting the pressure on as the clock ticks down, but Iwobi hits it straight at a defender and Lacazette tried to score from an impossible angle instead of cutting it back, and the Gunners are running out of time very quickly.

Wenger finally decides to take Iwobi off and replace him with Nketiah, but with just 3 minutes left the youngster hasn’t got much time to save the Gunners. The Magpies are defending with their lifves and will be safely in the EPL again next season.

  1. And the reason is ??? … WENGER WENGER WENGER … Get the fossil out before the Madrid game and take his loyal following of idiot fans with him …

    1. Please be a realist

If Arsenal fire their manager just a few days before such an important match, imagine the bad effect on the players’ mentality

And who would be the caretaker? The legendary Steve Bould?

      1. An anarcho syndicalist Workers cooperative would do better than this fraud with players deciding on game plan!!!!

        1. Wash rinse repeat … wenger has built a team of rinsers … anything will be better than where we r now!!!

      2. When it’s time to fire him people talk like this, when the summer comes and people wants him out, some loyal fans of his want him to get one more season to do something different, only to repeat same stu*idness. He’ll stay forever

      3. I am a realist above all else and always have been. I totally disagree with you and Wenger should be sacked this very hour. The team and club will be far better the moment this fossil is out the door.

      4. i don’t think the players mentality could get much worse than it is already and i for one would like to see Arsenal fail every step of the way if it means Kroenke is forced to sell and we get a new manager. They both need to go.

  2. Aubameyang was a good inverted winger with a good cross and Lacazette was a good finisher in the game, but it was not enough to lift the team spirit up

It was apparent that most of them thought about the Atletico Madrid match more than this game, but they have to face West Ham first

    1. Auba and Laca would have won the game if they had Mkhi or Ozil supporting them instead of Iwobi. Or if Jack or Rambo had played instead of (as of yet) clueless Willock. Or if we had proper defenders instead of those Mustafi/Chambers/Holding bollocks.

      #nomorehomegrownquotas

    2. Really, you know this how. That result is as a result of bad coaching and that has being going on from the being of the season. So don’t tell me they lost because of atleti match. How many of them will be involved in that match. Two or 3 of them atmost.

      1. Yep……..Arsenal will continue to lose until they fire Wenger…….our defense is pretty bad…….

  3. Mr Wenger the Arsenal Board and the team ar a joke. A Complete Overhaul has to be made.
It has got to the stage were it is hard to Watch Arsenal. WENGER OUT>

    1. The game is only important to give the youngsters and the fringe players some experience, nothing more

Agree on the complete overhaul, but it can wait after the World Cup

      1. I disagree with you we had our best out there today as for the overhaul I would not give Mr Wenger another minute as Manager of Arsenal. There also has to be big changes made at Board level right now not tomorrow. A lot of the Players are just not good enough at Premiership Level. Arsenal are 6th at the moment and if they drop points there is a good chance that they will drop even lower than 6th. This is not good enough for a Club like Arsenal.

        1. Holding, Chambers, Willock, Iwobi are ‘our best’??

Seriously, do you ever watch actual football.
Those 4 will NEVER have a career as starters at a top 6 club. Wanna bet?

          1. The Players in Question are first team Players on bug money if they are not our best then what are they doing in the first team. The answer to your Question do I ever watch the actual Football is yes but not with rose tinted glasses. The 4 players in Question already have a Career in a Top 6 Club with Arsenal.

          2. They are not but that team is good enough to beat Newcastle if we have a coach. What did Newcastle do in that match to deserve all the points. Cech gave them the first goal and Mustafi was ball watching for the second.

            1. Mustafi was ball watching on both goals. Rarely have I ever been so frustrated with a players. Clearly to be a German international means he has talent but his 3 or 4 brain farts every game where he just watches attackers run circles around him and flaps his arms after they score does my head in.

      2. You do realise we are just 2 points ahead if Burnley right??? Do you realise that there is a good chance we miss out of Europe entirely next season. All it takes is to get knocked out by athletico; which is likely the case. With our shambolic and abysmal away form, there a realistic chance that Burnley will finish above us.
Come on let’s stop looking for excuses for Wenger’s failure. Put arsenal first man!!

  4. Same mistakes:

    1) Too many acute subtle and overcomplicated passing when unnecessary
    2) Too many average players who are unable to deal with said passing above
    3) No defensive training
    4) No leadership
    5) No change of tactics during the game
    6) Too much managerial faith in bringing through average/inadequate players
    7) Not learning from the same defensive mistakes
    8) No quality CB
    9) No quality DM

    Anything else?

It’s been like this since 2010…

    1. I agree, especially with your first assessment.

We should have done better imo, the game was not really difficult as we enjoyed nice spaces But we were not ruthless enough.

The Lacazette pass was to Willock and not Auba i think

    2. this game and the upcoming games are training for next season…try-and-error of formation,players…bla…bla….bla….the BIG game is coming A.mad.

  5. wenger out, iwobi, out, chambers out, mustafi out, keep going. no tactics at all – keep the ball and play back to the goalkeeper. well done wenger – gooner = forever

  6. 0 points in away games so far in 2018. Top club my arse. Not watching the europa league thats for sure

      1. I know! Its disgraceful. The worst thing was Benitez was up shouting at the end and Wenger was sitting down not giving a shit as usual.

        1. It was just another day at the office for Wenger and Bould

They would still receive their gigantic paycheck at the end of the month anyway, so they can act like regular blue collar workers

        2. This club worships Wenger like a god, yet Benitez is the one with a European trophy. Interesting…

  7. I blame it on defense yet again and also midfiel it was just shocking in second half. Elneny should have been subbed he looked tired and always over sprinted. Chambers was just horrible.
Bellerin have no competition in RB position even with his displays still better than others.
Missed someone who could carry team…..

    1. We know that our defense is aging and has erratic behaviours

Elneny’s energy has been drained in Moscow, but there is no other DM since Coquelin was sold (I don’t count Xhaka as a DM). Bellerin definitely needs a strong competitor because Chambers is too slow to be a fullback

Someone that can carry the team? You mean the energizer bunny Sanchez? Let’s watch him carry MU half an hour later

  8. I am so p****d off…. Arsene you got it all wrong… another embarrassing away defeat. I hope Willock & Iwobi don’t start against Atletico! Surely Arsene’s P45 is in the post

          1. Not even close .his shooting is school children lvl,,and thats being kind ,not sure what else he brings to the table

          2. Yeah, and thats showing how poor the other players played Iwobi is average at best and the fact he was one of our better performers today, well…

            Eurgh.

      1. No , he wasn’t , with his display today , he can only play in the championship at most !

  9. There is no player in arsenal team now who can run with ball at its feet through middle like Rosicky and Santi used to do.

    1. Completely agree we were best with santi and Ozil running the midfield…. Such a good days even tho we were bad at least it was watchable….. than this crap

  10. Admin, please post 3-4 more articles about why we should support Iwobi and why Iwobi is the next Salah/ De Bruyne.

    1. Iwobi could be the next Edgar Davids if Arsenal threaten him

In my opinion, he is our future box-to-box midfielder (if nurtured well), due to his stature and close ball control

      1. for a big head he has, he has a peanut for a brain, so don’t even dare to think that he could ever turn into a edgar davids in the future

      2. you are insane !!!!

Edgar Davids andIwobi are so far apart that is not even funny. You mentioning them
in the same sentence is criminal.
Have you noticed how many Iwobi look alike Wenger has on this group?
Welbeck ,Willock,Walcott (gone thank God) AMN , Nelson, etc.
Remember Abu Diary ? He kept him forever refusing to adn=mit his insects are wrong as they are for most of these players.

Looking at this Arsenal team today was a final realization how far back we are as a club.
Every year for the last 7-8 I have Arsenal field a worse team every year and deteriorate in terms of manager/players and quality football.
Before I could live with some bad spells if at least the football was good.

the end product today is UN-WATCHABLE !!!!

The sooner change comes the better we may be although I think we have gone solar backwards that would take Allegri/Simeone as manager and 350 Mil to revamp the team.

I can’t think of more than 4-5 players that could play here

        Maybe Ozil/Mikh/Auba/Laca/Ramsey if that.

No-one else would actually get a slot on a top 4 team today even on the bench..

  11. Result isn’t really what we shuld be angry with. It’s again just how bad the performances have become and it’s a regular thing. These players should all be playing for starting spots. Aubameyang is the only guaranteed starter and he looked more motivated than just about everyone else. Mustafi is just no good, Cech is well past it, Monreal has becomes error prone, Xhaka and Elneny leaves much to be desired. Lacazette scored a nice goal but made some poor decisions in final third after that. Arsenal do not look deadly, do not look motivated, and when we leave Emirates we just look like a relegation team. Some of these players are going to start in Europa League and you just have to wonder how they are going to cope.

      1. they aren’t. It really is like watching a relegation side. The days of Arsenal playing nice football are long gone. I don’t really know what this is now. We used to have a bad defense but a fluid attack, wonderful midfield, now it’s just a bad defense. And I dont even think having Ozil in this lineup would’ve made a lick of difference either and he’s supposed to be one of our best players.

        1. Remember this is against a team which are full of other teams rejects .But theyt still played as a team and deserved their victory .i would say 5 new players ,and thats just to get us competing again with the other big 5 clubs

  12. CHANGE of Manager, backroom/coaching staff IS REQUIRED! Europa is only thing that should be prioritised but Athletico could just edge it as they have that bite & fight we have missed for over a decade!

  13. i wish that the madrid game will not arrive. it will be slaughter of the innocents. – gooner = forever

  14. What kind of manager puts on 4 strikers and takes off our only creative player?!?!?! Clueless!!!!

  15. Honestly, i haven’t seen any young player in the first team or the academy that excites me for the future. None! May seem harsh, but am just been realistic. All of them just seem like players that will be average. I feel a new direction is needed, someone else who can nuture their talents when they break into the team.Wenger isn’t that person.

    1. It’s a shame too because these batch of players have been performing a lot better in youth games than those of a few years ago. Really have to wonder if they are getting any kind of instruction at all or are just thrown out there now.

  16. The worst away record in 4 divisions, absolutely no wins away from home in 2018 that is as I said earlier relegation form! Wenger is the luckiest man in the world anyone else would have been booted out by now! Even smiling at the end ? please get this clown out of the club before we get so bad there’s no way back and we’re already a long way off as it is! We didn’t once look like scoring in that 2nd half.. no tactics, no ideas, awful lineup.. Joe willock is miles off being in the first team the goalkeeper and defence is league one standard.. we never ever look comfortable in any game.. if Wenger is still manager next season I’m completely switching off I’m not bothering until that man is gone I’ve had enough of this rubbish!

    1. Very well said. No other manager in the world of sports would survive with such a poor record. That just goes to show how poorly the club is run with zero accountability.

    2. You are incorrect.
We have NO POINTS away from home in 2018.
It gets to the point when you have to ask yourself shouldn’t watching football be fun?
      This is not fun.
A manager who clearly needs to leave.
A fan base who stays away and are clearly unhappy.
Players who are clearly not coached.
      A myopic board
Things would improve if the manager left.
      This cannot go on…

  17. It’s gotten to the point where I don’t even want to see or hear Wenger, unless it’s him admitting he absolutely cannot take the team any further. While loyally supporting Arsenal I find myself watching other teams more recently to get the enjoyment of watching the game back. It’s like therapy for depression!

  18. It’s not even shocking anymore. It’s stupid to blame the players all the time if that’s how they are managed. O away wins in 2018,that’s probably the worst record by a top club. I don’t wana imagine what Atletico will do to us if that’s how we plan to play against them.

    1. No probably about it. It is! Worst defence by a mile…. oh the glory days! I know as a football fan you have to take the rough with the smooth.. but come on!!!!

      1. How can I support such a manager even if I want to. Makes it really difficult for himself. Arsenal fans need a spare heart, else will die of heart attack very soon.

  19. What was chambers crossing to no1 every 5 minutes
Wenger our. Bould out. Medic out… Even if we win Europa, unlikely. Coaches just can’t provide anything to the team. No tactics, motivation, advice. All they do is rub their heads and say nice try, like a father would to an 8 year old. Conte/Simeone must come and teach them how to be men.
Who cares if we get a new couch every year or 2 like Chelsea. At least they win stuf

  20. Suddenly, the Legion of Arsene knows… disappears.
Do you still think Arsene knows?!
Honestly, I was hoping the nightmare ends swiftly.
Come May, we might be quite near mid table.
We just can’t score or defend.
    What can we do? Nothing.

  21. Absolutely atrocious result given the possession Arsenal had. I feel sorry for the poor away supporters, who travelled so far to watch this dross.
Posters on this site have been saying that Arsenal haven’t regressed when the last time we lost 5 away games in a row was 1983 pre Premier League!
Zonal defense has turned our defenders into ball watchers, hoping others will play the ball. As stated above since the New Year Arsenal has the worst away record in 4 divisions.
Arsene Wenger and Steve Bould hang your heads in shame.

    1. because we win a few matches towards end of season and fanbase magically forgets the comedy that came before. This time we are so bad we can’t even hide it though and these people are forced to watch how bad we are and have been for a long time

        1. No jon they won’t do anything with their heads as they arrogantly collect their large annual salaries; their heads are too big to fit in a bucket of water.
People support Wenger by stating what he has achieved “with the resources available” compared to the Manchester clubs and Chelsea. They don’t mention Liverpool and Tottenham let alone Burnley and Leicester of course. Now we have Benitez with the resources he has available with other clubs rejects, coach a TEAM, capable of beating Wenger’s Arsenal!

  22. None on the back line worth keeping, new GK, 2 CB, 2 FB. Where are the people defending Wenger?
Where’s the dude blaming fans for Arsenals results? That’s just ignoring reality, as if fans misplaced passes, got tactics wrong, or started those clowns.

Specialist in failure is right, I just hate that it came out of Jose’s mouth.

Ruthlessness severly needed; manage FIRED, not coddled or defended, just FIRED.
Get rid of underperforming players, sell them, bench them, or banish to under-23.

Come May, ownership has choice to make, choose manager specializing in failure, or fans who fund the club.

    1. Yea his name was Stephen something
This game made me think of him, how can the fans be to blame when we are so bad away

  23. players clearly are not focus as there is nothing to play for….

no ramsay no wilshere no ozil no mkhi means no creativity

we could hve done better with the 2 goals we conceded..but we still lack the creativity to score more goals…

  24. Assholes all of us.. Simply put we are the real motherfu**ers..to allow this to happen. Look at the atmosphere in the stadium. That is what is called passion for the game.
And yet we find fans out at emirates with zero passion. You either are in it to f**k it or or out of it, you just dont linger around with your d**ks hanging out not knowing what to do.
My point is full**ing boycott the games at emirates for once.. As a team….just a few thousand empty seats are not gonna help this as*hole leave. Atleast we fans need to show the team spirit and the famous COHESION to kick him out by making a statement with 3/4th empty Emirates…
Enough of the bloody “He is a legend of the club as he has carried us for 20+ years”

Legends are who keep winning for 20+year’s…not some one who just exists with an occasional lucky trophy.people like Ferguson are legends ..he served 20+ years as well but has won 13 PL titles along with CL titles beating the mighty barcelonas , bayerns and Madrid’s.

And this as*hole sits there at 2-1 down complaining for more extra time(so that the defenders and goalkeepers can have a short pass practice session) while benitez screams instructions at his players to secure the win.

And dont even get started by saying its just one bad game… And it happens..
Fu*king look at our football …93rd minute and yet we are playing passes between defenders and goalkeepers. It is not even about the defeat ..it is the footballing crap that is being dumped at our faces.
whnn win the ball in their penalty box.. The instinct is to start a quick counter attack. But we pass the ball to the midfielder…poor laca and auba make darting runs towards the goal. But where does the ball go?
To the wingback..and what does he do?
Dribble the ball into the oppostions half up until the edge of their penalty box…now what? The ball again goes back to xhaka/elneny and then to CBs.

So this is the level of football we are at… I would like to tell you all one thing… I bet all of you are arsenal fans … But just question yourself what made you to support arsenal in the first place?
For me it was the brand of football ….the slick attacking freeflowing football is what mesmerized me to fall in love with football and then later ARSENAL…..
If i had to chose between attractive football and arsenal I would chose football all day long. Because without the brand of football that i liked following arsenal is useless.
You can slam me however you wamt to for saying that..but I spend my valueble weekend to be emtertained and make me forget all the worries i have. But this as*hole has been spoiling my weekends for years now and yet he thinks he is the right man to do the job.

I would not hesitate to say that if this as*hole does continue to be the manager next season i would watch all other matches of teams who play attractive football except arsenal’s..though i would noy support all those teams.. I will atleast stay in love football than hate it by watching arsenal play.

  25. Dont we need to finish at least 6th for Europa league entry, with 5 games left, 3 away from home and we haven’t picked up a single point this year on our travels, add to that, that Burnley are 1 of the teams we play at home, if we don’t win the Europa this year, we could miss out on any European football next season.

    1. I’ll repeat what I said earlier, the top seven will qualify for Europe unless Southampton win the Fa Cup

      1. This is correct. REAL fans would already be well aware of this. Masny on here have not
        a clue about football generally.

    1. it’s going to be a mauling. We all know it. Atleti tie is very likely to go the same way. They may have little rotation in that squad but they are highly motivated and far superior to what we’ve been producing this season.

    2. I’m really waiting for that Atletico match so that we can finally put this season behind us, and hopefully say goodbye to Wenger.

  26. Don’t you all think now is the time for a Sam P click bait article on why wenger should stay

Mustafi is so poor and he lacks guts we have stooped that low that I thought eleneny had a decent game FML

  27. Individually and collectively our back four is woeful.Holding was the best of a bad bunch .Shocking headed clearance from Monreal to concede the second goal .Basically not one of the defenders on our books is a top quality player. Is it little wonder we are in danger of being overtaken byBurnley.

  28. Christ, how far we have fallen. Our home game against Burnley in May could actually be decisive on whether we can finish above them and in sixth place.
Wenger to be given a new 10 year contact I hope.

  29. Even a dog who is the loyalest creature to men, comes to bite you in the end when you treat it bad to often. Some fans are beyond dogs at Arsenal.

Seriously if you cant see the truth and not recognize fault, then you m. f. are part of the problem.

This c… of a manager deserve no respect whatsoever as he has become an enemy to this club. If the club does not take any measures soon, then there is no point in supporting this team, as there is nothing worth left supporting for. Or am i mistaken? Zero points from away games zeroooo. The embarrassment is to great to remain calm.

  30. “Lacazette was in a scoring position but instead chose to pass to Aubameyang”

    And no one noticed that?
Admins pls be more accurate with your reviews… The pass was to Willock (he was awful), and it wasn’t a wrong decision by Lacazette who had two castle players in front of him and decided to unselfishly pass to Willock who was in a better position but couldn’t sort his feet out.. Had he taken a shot and it came off a an opposition player, you’ll say how selfish he is.

We lacked a creative mind in midfield, barely created clear cut chances. Slow build up, too many back passes, calling our defense average is even a hype.

Just happy to have seen Pierre and AlexLaca combine for the goal – they can work together even better with Mkhi and Ozil around.

    1. Yep….Lacazette did the right thing……the young dude was surprised……it was just not our day……..not our season……we need a new coach……….

  31. So Stephan Larose-YES YOU.
So you would blame THAT Performance on the SUPPORTERS would you?
How ridiculously small and embarrassed YOU must feel now after THAT post of yours earlier. The important issue you fail to understand is that even the fans who wish Wenger to leave in a dignified manner accept that he must go.Very few defend his performance this season quite simply because there is nothing to defend. What they do not do is try to blame the support and fanbase for Wengers continuing failure. This result is just another failure from the manager.
I am now sat in a car with a 5 hour journey home after arriving back from Moscow 36 hours ago. Many fans did the same. Many fans will continue to follow THE TEAM.
Mindless idiots like you and your senseless and unfounded comments will NEVER stop the SUPPORTERS of ARSENAL FOOTBALL CLUB from following and supporting THEIR CLUB.
    GOT IT?

    1. I understand that you love arsenal to the core as I can see the effort you put in to attend the matches.
But please … I beg you for once tp stop attending any matches physically ..rather watch it on TV. Let that a**hole know that he doesn’t deserve arsenal and it’s fans. He is extremely deluded as he keeps blaming the weather, thursdays and what not for the low attendences. That is because he only sees a 1/4th of the stadium empty..

I just want to see what he would blame if the stadium is 3/4th empty…

I beg you to stop attending the matches at least for the remaining 2 home matches ….that won’t be too much to ask . coz for once let’s make this fossil realise he doesnt deserve respect.

      1. It matters not a jot what he sees as he will not be here by end of May or early June at worst. Kroenke HAS seen the regular empty seats and that has done for the OLD fossil. Hurrah!

        1. I bet he will still be there if he reaches the final of europa… He doesnt even have tp win it. You are too optimistic and are jumping the gun by assuming that the decision has been made. But in reality the board is waiting to see what happens in europa league and then may be decide to sack him, and that is a huge may be

  32. From three the invincible to a mid table weak and error strewn team who opposition teams look for Ward to playing.
Embarrassment and that’s even with Ramsey Wilshire etc.
Mustafi needs to have a word with himself and cut out the ‘it was your fault not mine’ sh*t for a start.
I’m trying to think back to when we became so cra*.
When was it? Can anyone remember?
No coincidence that giroud and ox are loving their football again 🙁

      1. Exactly right, jon. David Dein was “the power behind the throne” of Arsene Wenger. The “ambition” of the Arsenal to succeed on the pitch was greatly diminished when David Dein was forced off the board.

  33. Last week just saw the highlights of Arsenal Legends vs Milan Legends…
Arsenal Legends were much much better than our current squad even after turning into their 40s and 50s age…

  34. Just watched the recorded game as out at gametime, what a pile of poo we are. A bunch of fukcing pussies and looks like 7th is our new level once Burnley, (Dyche doing great stuff there) overtake us soon. The sooner Wenger goes the better but you do really know he will still be here next season!

    1. The only bloody thing that might cheer me up at the end of the season is if we win Europa and Chelsea get 4th place over spurs, sad I know but give us break eh, whoever rules this universe!

      1. GB
the problem is we can’t keep wishing others will fall apart so we look better.

We need to believe in our team and our club which club from top to bottom are failing their fans big time.

I watched City/Spurs yesterday just to enjoy at least football player they way it suppose to be
and getting up this am US time to watch this abomination reminded me the painful truth
Arsenal is no longer a top team

I know some people hope and wish we go thru Atletico but really what are the chances?

And if we do what is the long term impact?

At best we get a title and CL football and even if we did we would be out of that competition
by the first or second round , we will still have a mgr without a clue , no quality in the team
and more likely will be playing for top 10 spot in EPL

        WE NEED CHANGE !!!!!

  35. @getz
I thought the small that 6th was the el number but apparently as long as saints don’t win the fa cup there can be 7 this year as Man city are top and won efl cup so pass on a place to the league.
    Maybe that’s wengers thinking? Lol
I don’t know what’s going on to be honest. If the relaxation teams were in a serious battle with Newcastle still I’d expect them to take issue with our team selection today.
Funny to yhink that not long ago wed finish 2nd 3rd and 4th was a poor season for us.
What a difference a manager makes eh.
It’s no coincidence that since pep, mou, poch and klopp have settled in that they go leaps and bounds away from where we are.
Listening to the Anfield crowd yesterday Ox must have thought he’s died and gone to heaven why is it our stadium has zero noise level or atmosphere everytime I’ve been in it?

  36. The Gunners fell to a 2-1 defeat at Newcastle United on Sunday to remain the only team in England’s top four divisions yet to earn an away league point in 2018.

In addition, Arsenal have lost five successive away games in the league for the first time since December 1984, and Wenger admits that the pointless run will impact on the players.

Anyway no regrets. I have not watched a single match of us this 2018 EXCEPT if we reach Europa League Final. I don’t want to have blood pressure

  37. what about Alexis. i repeat that once a player leaves the arsenal he regret it. by the way our under 23’s are at the top and should we beat whu will be champions – gooner for ever

      1. And that is your consolation?
        That Sanchez was crap?
Sanchez is in a MUCH better place than Arsenal
He will be playing Champions League football next season.
If that cretin remains in charge Arsenal will be fighting relegation.
Tell me – who is having the last laugh here?

        1. Well they didn’t do very well in the champions league this season did they?! All the fans were saying last week how world class he was… but this week it’s back to he’s sh*t sod off back to Arsenal!!
You don’t have to tell me all that, I already know!
I can’t stand United so love it when they lose, even better handing the league to City!

      2. If Madrid knock us out.
I see no reason for him to stay until the end of the season.
His presence is destructive – no leadership, no direction, no tactics and no support.
What does he do for his £10 million a year..

      3. Why are we celebrating ex players not dogs no well, Jesus are we that bad, ok how about ox and Giroud ?

  38. if Wenger stays he will say we need stability, buy 1-2 players, we’ll finish 8-9.
we are probably the most pathetic team in the EPL. not the worst squad of course but a mediocre one, yet we try to play like a top team (+bad tactics) and not according to our actual abilities, which makes us the most pathetic.
the man is clueless- Wenger out!!!!!!!!

  39. I will shortly be submitting an article on this site to outline and point out to very new fans, the huge succession of total duds Wenger has brought in at CB. I will be starting with the appalling Senderos and including both Mustafi and Chambers. You may be very sure that wherever a tota dud CB is in the world , he will end up at Arsenal, often for huge and grotesquely overpaid fees and wages.

  40. I cheer myself up by fantasising about the glorious day Wenger is soon sacked. My best guess is between May 19- May 26. I do not expect to be more than a week or two out , either direction. Further embarrassing debacles will bring forward that glorious day and must therefore be welcomed. The decision has already been taken ,I am convinced. All that is of interest now is the precise timing as to when it is announced by the regime. I would be prepared to wait ten minutes, AT MOST, so that he can clear his desk.

      1. Nor me and I would add Cech to the list and maybe another 5 or 6 players….. never mind it’s too depressing.

  41. mourinho, conte and the other 17 managers should.be sacked

if Raneiri can win the title with leiceter so can they
