Now it gets serious – Arsenal have 6 games in 18 days!

The international break seems to last forever, and the last week and half have gone at a snail’s pace, but this weekend Arsenal’s season will begin in earnest and our returning internationals will have to hit the ground running.

We have been lucky in the fact that quite a lot of our players didn’t even get a call up so we should be fitter than most to cope with the glut of games coming up.

To start with we have our must-win League game against Southampton at the Emirates. We simply cannot afford to drop off the pace any further. I’m not even sure if Wenger will put out his very best team as he will want to save players like Alexis (who has to contend with a flight back from South America) for the possibly even more crucial trip to Paris to face PSG on the following Tuesday. But I am so sure that we are going to win this game with room to spare I am going to use this Bet365 Bonus code and use the bookies money to win money backing Arsenal.

After that we go to Paris and Wenger would love us to get at least a draw to give us chances of finishing top of the Group. Paris is the first of three away games in the space of a week, and the second is a trip to Hull, who have had a brilliant start to the season despite having 50% of their squad out injured. This will not be easy either….

Next up is our League Cup trip to Nottingham to see Lord Bendtner in action. We will definitely be using the depths of our squad for that one as we need to prepare for the MASSIVE home game against Chelsea. We definitely need to change our dismal record against the Blues if we mean to be serious title challengers, especially in the home game…

We end the marathon month with our home tie against Basle, where we will hoping to be celebrating a successful September. If we are near the top of the League at that point we will be feeling good as October is looking much more manageable…..

  1. This is going to decided our title hope, hopefully we can show what we are capable of with our new signings and off course ozil, alexis, kos, cech……..shd hit all the ground. Gunner till i die!!

  2. this real season begins!! Soton we can beat at Emirates especially without Wanyama and Mane.

the headache however is against PSG in Paris.. I have confidence in the midfield and defence to a reasonable extent but the strike-force however…. hope is on Perez

    1. Even a point at Paris would be enough. I have no fear for 6 matches in 18 days.
Mustafi and Perez are ready. Iwobi is back in training. Ramsey soon as well and we have no fresh new injuries.

      Lets start by crushing Southampton!

  3. This is now down to the manager by resting players. If we go up in games slow them down and then take players of like ozill and A-S. CA needs some games the ox and with our game with basle and forest why not but it’s a paper cup that I think most top epl teams would like to drop out of. We have the team we have the squad use it all

  4. we have a pretty solid squad to call on. xpect some of the likes of Elneny,Ramsey,Iwobi, Akpom, Holding, Gibbs,Debuchy,Ospina to feature against Hull (not underrating them) and especially Nottingham forest.

  5. The league cup is important for the young players to gain experience and to show us what they are capable of in a competetive first team game. For that reason I hope we have a long run in it.

  6. i am always sad if we lose i the league cup even if it isnt such an important cause i like to see the fringe and youth players of us in action and the league cup ist the best stage to achieve that 🙁

      1. @bran99
We do. But they’re not going to get any better by just playing against other young players. They need to be given some minutes in the 1st squad, or at least train with them in order to gain confidence.

  7. Yep, the article basically said it all and Sanchez definitely needs to be rested against Southampton, those long flights have started to affect his mental state of mind, he is now comparing himself with the likes of Messi and Ronaldo! ? Yes, Yes of course you’re Sanchez. .. now come and take a seat next to Giroud, on the bench.

OT: Goodluck to Flamini, who has joined Crystal Palace.

    1. Just in case you haven’t seen it yet,
      here you go.⬇

The Chile forward has become a firm fan favourite at Emirates Stadium after scoring 30 goals in 68 league appearances for the Gunners.

Messi and Real Madrid rival Ronaldo are widely considered as the best two players on the planet and have held a monopoly over the Ballon d’Or award for the past eight years.
But Sanchez is confident that he can be considered on their level.

In quotes published by Sport, he said: “I have reached a level where I can compete with great players.
“I do not feel inferior to anybody.
“I liken [my qualities] to Messi and Ronaldo. I have the same abilities as them.”

      1. @FbG
Considering our team isn’t formed around him, as is with Messi and Ronaldo. I’d say he’s right…

  8. Put it like this
Last win against Southampton at home -2014/15
Last win against Chelsea at home- 2010/11
    Champions league and league cup
Both PSG and nott forest long way back in 90’s and Basel are yet to face Arsenal.

(” Based on the league front it will be tough since Chelsea rely on Hazard and get the better of Arsenal along with thier track-record of weak Arsenal not showing up. As much as I love Cazorla he needs to be replaced with Coquelin.”)
(“Till last season the team played with Flamini who was bad on defence now with a few additions like Xhaka maybe that short passes will reduce to incisive plays.”)
(“Southampton will sit deep and play on counter to frustrate Arsenal or start fast by pressing it will be up to the team for some Brawn power that will allow the players to fight of thier physicality.”)
(” PSG are tricky customers with Ben arfa and Lucas Moura for inspiration.”)

  9. I think this is the best article from admin so far, this period is a test to the squad depth and how we can rotate,am sure each available player knows that they have to be ready when called upon. OT: if Sanchez was surrounded with players in quality-wise like that of Real madrid or Barca over the last two seasons then you would definitely know he is talking sense.
